Dominique Ansel and Kith Treats are debuting a collab Mystery Cronut this weekend
Two NYC heavyweights—one in streetwear, the other in sugar—are teaming up to drop a treat that's as stylish as it is flaky. Pastry king Dominique Ansel and Kith Treats are launching a limited-edition Cronut, and here's the twist: the flavor is a total mystery until the day before launch. Dubbed "The Metropolitan," the collaborative Cronut is inspired by Kith's global tagline, 'New York to the World,' and lands just in time to toast Dominique Ansel Bakery's 14th anniversary and Kith Treats' 10th. It's the first-ever crossover between the two brands, both known for remixing tradition with high-impact creativity—and in this case, butter. The mystery flavor will finally be revealed via @dominiqueansel and @kithtreats on Thursday, May 15. Until then, speculation is fair game—Ube? Baklava? Pizza Rat Praline Swirl? Okay, maybe not that last one. Starting Friday, May 16, through Sunday, May 18, the Cronut will be available exclusively at Dominique Ansel Bakery in SoHo (189 Spring Street). Meanwhile, all U.S. Kith Treats shops, including the newly reopened SoHo flagship (337 Lafayette Street), will serve up a soft-serve swirl infused with the same secret Cronut flavor, because what's a celebration without an ice cream sidekick? Ansel, famously the creator of the Cronut in 2013, has a reputation for keeping New Yorkers on their toes and in lines that wrap around the block. Add Kith's design-savvy fanbase to the mix, and it's safe to say this collab will draw sneakerheads and sweet tooths alike. So whether you're a downtown fashion devotee, a pastry purist, or just in it for the Instagram, mark your calendars. This one's got 'future collector's item' written all over it—if you can get your hands on one.

The Deeper Meaning Behind the 2025 Met Gala Carpet
At the 2025 Met Gala, the red carpet wasn't red at all but rather midnight blue dotted with white-and-yellow blooms. The carpet's motif—a narcissus flower, more commonly known as a daffodil—came from artist Cy Gavin. In an interview with Vogue , Gavin says he became fascinated with the spring perennial growing outside his upstate New York studio. To many, the bloom symbolises the arrival of the new season—and since the Costume Institute fundraiser takes place on the first Monday of May, he felt a synergy existed between the two. Then there was the flower's scientific name, which stems from the Greek myth of Narcissus. Though Gavin admits there are many interpretations of the tragedy, he honed in on one facet: when Narcissus sees his reflection for the first time in the pool of water. 'I became interested in that moment of self-recognition and appreciation,' he says. Such a sentiment struck him as powerful amid this season's exhibition, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style', which examines Black dandyism and identity. 'It's very easy to not see yourself clearly because of all the selves that other people tell us we are—and I was struck by the poignancy of that being also a sort of punishment,' he adds. He took all of this and channeled it into a painting, 'Untitled (Sky),' where the narcissus flowers are made to resemble stars in a night sky. (The painting will be projected in the Temple of Dendur during the gala.) Meanwhile, set designer Derek McLane and event planner Raúl Àvila took Gavin's motif and translated it into the sprawling carpet that covered the stairs of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. And although it will be removed after the Met Gala is over, its meaning lives on in the thousands of photos taken by photographers as stars from Pharrell Williams to Savannah James made their way up to fashion's biggest night. Why did Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz pulled out of Met Gala amid family feud?
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz decided to pull out of a Met Gala appearance just days after the pair snubbed David Beckham's lavish 50th birthday celebrations Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have made a bold statement by snubbing the Met Gala. It comes after the pair who are said to be embroiled in a feud with his relatives failed to make an appearance at David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations over the weekend. The pair were expected to join the long list of famous faces walking the red carpet at the annual event held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year's theme is 'Tailored for You' referencing the suiting and menswear which will feature in the exhibition. However, while all eyes were expected to be on Brooklyn and Nicola, the pair opted to steer clear. A source told The Sun: "They cancelled plans to attend the Met because they really intended to be at David's party on Saturday. "But Brooklyn is really upset that blame for the rift has been levelled at Nicola. She has never told him what to do and has been nothing but supportive — she's a loyal wife." 2025 is the first time in over two decades that the glitzy event will focus solely on menswear. The theme has been inspired by Monica L Miller's 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. Condé Nast's chief content officer Dame Anna Wintour has overseen the event again alongside co-chairs, Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamitlon, A$AP Rocky, LeBron James and Colman Domingo. It's claimed that Nicola's relationship with the Beckham's is "beyond repair" and reports claim she is the driving force behind Brooklyn's estranged relationship with former Manchester United ace David and former Spice Girls singer, Victoria Beckham. Brooklyn, the eldest child of the power couple had also been noticeably absent from any of the celebrations in the lead up to David's main party on Saturday. It's said that Brooklyn's failure to attend was a "real blow" to the former footballer. On Saturday, the Beckham's along with Victoria's family and dozens of A-list pals gathered at the swanky Core restaurant in the Notting Hil l area of London with second eldest son, Romeo, delivering a speech to diners to celebrate his dad. While the Beckham's had known Brooklyn and Nicola were attending tonights Met, they claim David had been left "hurt" by his failure to show up at the restaurant – despite having jetted into London for the event. "They failed to turn up at any family events and yet they will go to a place where they will barely know anyone," a source told the Daily Mail. The source went on to add: "Victoria and David would do anything to get their son back, but they are done with Nicola now." They went on to claim that Nicola is the reason behind the feud, claiming she "finds a way to start an argument" between Brooklyn and his famous family. They added that while Brooklyn had allegedly planned to attend the birthday celebrations, his wife would "kick something off" making it "impossible" for him to attend. The source claimed: "It all stinks of a control thing. The family are absolutely certain this is what happened this time round, that a drama was created and Brooklyn doesn't feel he can turn up to see his family – but it happened three times in a week." Meanwhile, sources close to the Beckham family have claimed to the Mirror that David and Victoria would do "anything" to have their son back. "It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal," they told us.

On May 5, 2025 the iconic stairs of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City will come alive with the MET Gala. Every year, The Met Gala carpet brings together cultural figures and style icons from across a wide array of fields to celebrate and support art and fashion. Over the years, the MET Gala stairs have played witness to exquisite Indian craftsmanship taking centre stage at the historic event. He graced the iconic stairs in an embroidered cotton duster coat from the Sabyasachi Resort 2024 collection layered with tourmalines, pearls, emeralds and diamonds from Sabyasachi High Jewellery. In the same year, Alia Bhatt attended the MET Gala and draped a Sabyasachi couture sari with an exaggerated train. Crafted on a light, shimmery base, the embellishments included intricate thread embroidery, which is supplemented with materials such as rhinestones, sequins, bugle beads, zari, kundan and more and explores various ancient Indian techniques of embroidery, including fareesha, zardozi, nakshi, dabka and French knots, among others.
