Why did Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz pulled out of Met Gala amid family feud?

Daily Mirror05-05-2025
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz decided to pull out of a Met Gala appearance just days after the pair snubbed David Beckham's lavish 50th birthday celebrations
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have made a bold statement by snubbing the Met Gala. It comes after the pair who are said to be embroiled in a feud with his relatives failed to make an appearance at David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations over the weekend.
The pair were expected to join the long list of famous faces walking the red carpet at the annual event held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year's theme is 'Tailored for You' referencing the suiting and menswear which will feature in the exhibition.

However, while all eyes were expected to be on Brooklyn and Nicola, the pair opted to steer clear.

A source told The Sun: "They cancelled plans to attend the Met because they really intended to be at David's party on Saturday.
"But Brooklyn is really upset that blame for the rift has been levelled at Nicola. She has never told him what to do and has been nothing but supportive — she's a loyal wife."
2025 is the first time in over two decades that the glitzy event will focus solely on menswear. The theme has been inspired by Monica L Miller's 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. Condé Nast's chief content officer Dame Anna Wintour has overseen the event again alongside co-chairs, Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamitlon, A$AP Rocky, LeBron James and Colman Domingo.
It's claimed that Nicola's relationship with the Beckham's is "beyond repair" and reports claim she is the driving force behind Brooklyn's estranged relationship with former Manchester United ace David and former Spice Girls singer, Victoria Beckham.

Brooklyn, the eldest child of the power couple had also been noticeably absent from any of the celebrations in the lead up to David's main party on Saturday. It's said that Brooklyn's failure to attend was a "real blow" to the former footballer.
On Saturday, the Beckham's along with Victoria's family and dozens of A-list pals gathered at the swanky Core restaurant in the Notting Hil l area of London with second eldest son, Romeo, delivering a speech to diners to celebrate his dad.
While the Beckham's had known Brooklyn and Nicola were attending tonights Met, they claim David had been left "hurt" by his failure to show up at the restaurant – despite having jetted into London for the event.

"They failed to turn up at any family events and yet they will go to a place where they will barely know anyone," a source told the Daily Mail. The source went on to add: "Victoria and David would do anything to get their son back, but they are done with Nicola now."
They went on to claim that Nicola is the reason behind the feud, claiming she "finds a way to start an argument" between Brooklyn and his famous family. They added that while Brooklyn had allegedly planned to attend the birthday celebrations, his wife would "kick something off" making it "impossible" for him to attend.
The source claimed: "It all stinks of a control thing. The family are absolutely certain this is what happened this time round, that a drama was created and Brooklyn doesn't feel he can turn up to see his family – but it happened three times in a week." Meanwhile, sources close to the Beckham family have claimed to the Mirror that David and Victoria would do "anything" to have their son back.
"It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal," they told us.

Visitors must head on a funicular that takes them to a lower station, but in turn the weight of the cabin full of passengers brings the empty rollercoaster up to a higher station. The riders will then walk from the lower funicular station, back up the hill to the rollercoaster that then uses gravity to propel itself along the 250 metre track and 360-degree horizontal loop. The park also has the first solar-powered ride in the UK, which features a two-chute water slide around 60 metres long. Solar panels that generate electricity are used to power the water pumps for this ride. Unusual attractions in the park don't stop there though - the park has the Enchanted River Ride as well, where riders propel themselves along a river using ropes and paddle, seeing mystical creatures as they go. For a sensory experience there is the BareFoot Trail, dubbed to be the first of its kind in Wales. Visitors walk barefoot through different terrains including sand, straw, timber and water. Elsewhere at the TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice Award 2025 attraction, visitors can also head on a dry version of sledging, TreeTop Towers with netted walkways and tube slides and the Forest Glider - a 75 metre 'slide' in rubber rings. Why Carmarthenshire makes the perfect family hol Smaller children can enjoy the Tunnel Warren, Dragon Maze, mini diggers and tractors and a giant jumping pillow as well. At Cwtch Corner, families can interact with farm animals and learn about their habitats, including goats, ducks, pigs, guinea pigs and rabbits. New for this year, the park also has some alpacas that families can opt to go on a walk with through the 17 acre forest park, by booking in advance. Don't miss the Snowdon View Point either, with panoramic views of Wales' largest mountain range. And if the weather isn't ideal, then the park has an indoor Enchanted WoodBarn with soft play and a special area for children under the age of three. You do need to pay a fee to access the soft play, which is £3.50 per adult and £6 per child. Inside the WoodBarn is a cafe as well, selling family favourites like Welsh beef burgers for £11.80 and jacket potatoes from £7.25. For parents wanting a brew whilst the kids play, coffee and tea aren't expensive, ranging between £3.20 and £4.20. 5 And there are multiple different play features to explore across the park Credit: Greenwood Family Park If out and about in the park, there are food shacks as well, like Snowdon Snacks that serves a range of hot food including hot dogs and has a covered seating area. Or you could head to the Forest and Solar Treat Shacks for sweet treats including ice cream. Until the end of August the family park is running the 'Festival of Fun' with live music and entertainment such as circus skills workshops and arts and crafts sessions - all included in the ticket price. Make sure to check out a show, including magic acts, at the Forest Theatre too. Admission costs £25 for guests over one metre tall and £10 for those under a metre tall. Though, if you book through Picniq, you can grab tickets for £20 for visitors over a metre tall, and £7.50 for those under a metre tall. Or you could purchase a group of four tickets, for guests all over one metre tall, for £74. One visitor recently said on TripAdvisor: "[There's] something for everyone, from toddlers to teens (and adults too!) Another added: "It's a fun, affordable, and genuinely enriching day out for all ages, and we'll definitely be back if we are in the area." 5 There is a solar-powered water ride as well Credit: Google maps A third noted: "We didn't really queue for anything." The main park is open between 10am and 5pm each day. Visitors can also extend their stay at the park, by staying at the GreenWood Tipi Glamping. The site features hot showers and a fully-equipped communal kitchen. Inside the tipis, guests will find a log burner and real beds. Then outside each tipi is a barbeque and a seating area. Four of the tipis sleep up to six people and the remaining two sleep up to four people and a one-night stay starts from £95. There's no need to leave your four-legged friend at home either, as each family is allowed "two well-behaved dogs" for a fee of £30 per dog. 5 And if you want to extend your stay, there are tipis on the site Credit: Instagram/@greenwood_f_p Using GreenWood as a base, there are plenty of other areas to explore nearby including Mount Snowdon itself, Zip World and Conwy Castle. The nearby village of Y Felinheli, sits on the Menai Strait submerged valley and has some pubs and cafes to explore as well. Wales is a great holiday destination with great family attractions for all types of British weather. Plus, Wales is home to the UK's biggest underground 'theme park' in caves – and it's twice the size of St Paul's.

Future's iconic rap album 'DS2' gets the ballet treatment in a one-night-only performance at BAM

Grab your pointe shoes and your double cup. Future's era-defining trap opus DS2 is about to plié its way onto the Brooklyn Academy of Music stage. On Friday, September 19, Grand Marnier is teaming up with the multi-platinum rapper for DS2 Remixed: The Ballet, a one-night-only spectacle at BAM's Howard Gilman Opera House that promises to fuse rap, dance and high fashion into something entirely new. If that sentence made you blink twice, you're not alone. This is not your typical night at the ballet. Imagine 'March Madness' reframed through choreography by Emmy Award-winning powerhouse Ebony Williams, the first Black American female dancer at Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and, yes, the woman who slayed in Beyoncé's Single Ladies video. Add in a corps of world-class Black ballet performers, costumes by Queens-born designer LaQuan Smith (whose high-glamour creations have graced everyone from Rihanna to Kim Kardashian), and a score built on Future's 2015 triple-platinum masterpiece. The result is a collision of high art and hip-hop that's as Brooklyn as it gets. ' DS2 changed the game for me,' Future said. 'A decade later and you still feel that energy everywhere. To see a mixtape I made turned into a ballet with Grand Marnier, right here in NYC? That's different. That's legendary.' Grand Marnier is billing the event as part of its 'Remix Your Legacy' campaign, and BAM is a fitting host. The 166-year-old institution has long stood at the intersection of classical tradition and cutting-edge artistry, making it the perfect place for trap beats to meet tendus. 'This is the kind of bold work that excites us,' says Mari Ogino, BAM's director of corporate strategy. 'It fuses innovation with representation in a way that's true to our mission.' Naturally, there's a cocktail tie-in. To toast the occasion, Grand Marnier is releasing limited-edition GM2 Cocktail Kits through Cocktail Courier. Each kit comes with the fixings for a Grand Margarita plus a custom edible topper featuring Future himself. Ten percent of proceeds will support BAM's Free Music Program, which brings no-cost concerts to the Brooklyn community. Tickets are first-come, RSVP-only and likely to vanish faster than Future's mixtape drops. In other words: Don't sleep. On September 19, DS2 won't just be blasting from car speakers—it'll be pirouetting across a Brooklyn stage, proving once again that trap, like ballet, is all about discipline, drama and defying expectations.
