WATCH: Ray Lewis, Michael Phelps delivery strong words of motivation to the Ravens

Olympic champion Michael Phelps and Super Bowl legend Ray Lewis addressed the Ravens and spoke to the team following Tuesday's practice The Ravens had champions in the building on Tuesday, as Michael Phelps and franchise legend Ray Lewis visited with the team at the Under Armour Performance Center. Phelps was initially invited to provide swim lessons to key Ravens, and following Tuesday's practice, both champions gave the team urgent words of wisdom. The two local heroes also signed autographs for fans after the team's practice. With 28 Olympic medals, including 23 golds, Phelps knows what it takes to become a champion. Lewis is the only player in NFL history with at least 40 career sacks and 30 career interceptions (41.5 sacks and 31 interceptions). In 17 seasons, Lewis made the all-decade team (2000s), made 12 Pro Bowls, and set a franchise record 2,643 career tackles, including a single-season team-best 225 stops in 2003.

Ravens to hold RB Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson out of preseason opener vs. Colts

Following a spirited joint practice on Tuesday, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry will sit out the preseason opener vs. the Colts The Ravens have Super Bowl aspirations, and the biggest reason for that optimism is Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Both players participated in Tuesday's joint practice, and following that session, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that they'd sit out the preseason opener. With Jackson out, Cooper Rush and, importantly, Devin Leary will see the bulk of the action at the quarterback position. At running back, Keaton Mitchell, Rasheen Ali, and D'Ernest Johnson could see most of the action with Henry out, and Justice Hill likely to join him. Baltimore could take a similar approach at wide receiver, tight end, and offensive line.

"Derrick Henry's 2-Year, $30M Ravens Contract: 2024 AFC North Champs aim for ring

Ravens Lock in Derrick Henry with Two-Year Extension It is good to be King, especially in Baltimore, The Ravens inked Derrick Henry to a two-year, $30 million extension, with $25 million guaranteed, keeping one of the NFL's top running backs in purple through 2027. ESPN's Adam Schefter called it the richest deal ever for a running back over the age of 30. Advertisement Henry's 2024 season was a masterpiece—1,921 yards, 16 touchdowns, and a highlight reel of flattened linebackers—it's no surprise that the Ravens struck that deal. Henry hit social media with gratitude: Teaming with Lamar Jackson coming off of his 2023 MVP season, the duo helped fuel a 12-5 season and Baltimore's second straight AFC North title. A playoff stumble against Buffalo stung, but at 31, Henry's still bulldozing defenses and racking up 100-plus yards in almost half his games over the last five years. One of the reasons all of this has been possible for Henry to make this magic. Is in 2024, the Ravens rebuilt their offensive line, starting with drafting Washington's Roger Rosengarten in the first round. This rookie right tackle was moved inside to guard and only allowed three sacks, per Pro Football Focus. Ravens GM Eric DeCosta also re-signed guard Ben Cleveland, a brick wall who gave up only two sacks in 17 games. Add in their 2022 first round pick center Tyler Lynderbaum and this line was a fortress, paving the way for Baltimore's league-best 5.2 yards per carry. Ravens betting on rookie underdog to replace their all-time leading scorer

Ravens betting on rookie underdog to replace their all-time leading scorer The Ravens appear to be trusting a sixth-round rookie kicker to fill the void left by the departure of their all-time leading scorer. You may have heard an old saying before, though it's difficult to remember who said it first. It went like this: 'I don't mind if someone is used instead of me, but I'd rather someone not be used in spite of me'. First things first. This isn't meant to share opinions about Justin Tucker's lawsuit, other than to restate that it's unfortunate. As a result, the Baltimore Ravens have determined it's in the organization's best interest that they move on. So, what's next? It appears the franchise's all-time leading scorer will see his hoes filled by the most unlikely of candidates. The Ravens appear ready to hand kicking duties over to a sixth-round draft choice. The NFL Draft is firmly in our rearview mirrors now. An 11-man rookie class has accepted its task of helping this great organization to, hopefully, a third Vince Lombardi Trophy. Malaki Starks and Mike Green are expected to be among the diamonds of this group. They'll be among the early contributors hoping to help shift the balance of power in the American Football Conference back into the hands of The Flock. Another expected early contributor was contacted 159 picks after Starks' name was written on a draft card and turned in to Commissioner Roger Goodell. Tyler Loop entered the 2020 college football season as the Arizona Wildcats' punter. He transitioned to become the kicker in 2021. 327 NCAA points later, he enters his rookie season just a few months after being named a finalist for the Lou Groza Award, one given to college football's top placekicker. There's certainly more to his story now. He's the guy who will be asked to fill the shoes left by Baltimore's all-time leading scorer. Justin Tucker, an undrafted free agent signed by the Ravens in 2012, played 13 seasons in purple, black, and metallic gold. He leaves having scored 1,775 points. He owns the NFL's record for the longest kick in our great game's long and storied history. He's a Super Bowl champion (XLVII) and a five-time First-Team All-Pro (2013, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021). He's also a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. In addition, he has also earned three Second-Team All-Pro mentions (2017, 2020, 2022) and seven Pro Bowl nominations (2013, 2016, 2019-23).

Ravens free agent offensive guard recently arrested for DUI

The Ravens are already dealing with the accusations surrounding Justin Tucker, and now free-agent offensive guard Ben Cleveland is in the news. TMZ Sports reports that Cleveland was arrested last week on suspicions of a DUI. According to Baldwin County Sheriff's Office documents we obtained, Cleveland was suspected of drunk driving in Milledgeville, Ga. on Feb. 12. The docs state the 26-year-old — a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of the Univ. of Georgia — was pulled over at around 10:25 PM … after he had been swerving in a roadway. Cops wrote Cleveland was actually driving so erratically, he nearly steered his black Ford F-250 into a ditch. According to the report Cleveland admitted to drinking 'approximately 3-4 beers' at a nearby country club before getting behind the wheel. Cleveland failed at least one field sobriety test and his.178 on the test was more than double the legal limit of .08. Cleveland reportedly was given two separate citations — one for DUI – alcohol and the other for failure to maintain lane.
