"Derrick Henry's 2-Year, $30M Ravens Contract: 2024 AFC North Champs aim for ring
It is good to be King, especially in Baltimore, The Ravens inked Derrick Henry to a two-year, $30 million extension, with $25 million guaranteed, keeping one of the NFL's top running backs in purple through 2027. ESPN's Adam Schefter called it the richest deal ever for a running back over the age of 30.

Henry's 2024 season was a masterpiece—1,921 yards, 16 touchdowns, and a highlight reel of flattened linebackers—it's no surprise that the Ravens struck that deal.

Teaming with Lamar Jackson coming off of his 2023 MVP season, the duo helped fuel a 12-5 season and Baltimore's second straight AFC North title. A playoff stumble against Buffalo stung, but at 31, Henry's still bulldozing defenses and racking up 100-plus yards in almost half his games over the last five years.
One of the reasons all of this has been possible for Henry to make this magic. Is in 2024, the Ravens rebuilt their offensive line, starting with drafting Washington's Roger Rosengarten in the first round. This rookie right tackle was moved inside to guard and only allowed three sacks, per Pro Football Focus. Ravens GM Eric DeCosta also re-signed guard Ben Cleveland, a brick wall who gave up only two sacks in 17 games. Add in their 2022 first round pick center Tyler Lynderbaum and this line was a fortress, paving the way for Baltimore's league-best 5.2 yards per carry.

He has not liked what he has seen thus far during the team's two preseason games. "I don't care that it's preseason," Benkert wrote on X. "The product the Packers have put on the field looks disgusting. The games don't matter but have some pride in the performance at least a LITTLE bit." He continued on, shading the coaching staff for being "unprepared" even when he was on the team. "I dealt with this when I was there," he wrote. "We played against the Jets first team defense for an entire half and were completely unprepared for their nickel double mug package. It's frustrating when you're trying to put your best foot forward and you're not given a schematic chance." That is not a glowing opinion when it comes to head coach Matt LaFleur. Calling the team "unprepared" usually falls back on the head coach for not having his group ready to play. From a scheme perspective, that would also fall on LaFleur. Either way, the product that the Packers have put on the field over the course of two preseason games has not looked good. Hopefully, the team is able to get things firing on all cylinders by the time their Week 1 matchup with the Detroit Lions comes around. Only time will tell, but Benkert's comments certainly resonate for Green Bay fans. In a season that is expected to come with Super Bowl contention, at least seeing a team playing sharp football in the preseason would be nice. She started off with a three-word message on the situation. "That's the hope," White said. "The hope is that she's back." Her response does not instill confidence in the Indiana fan base that Clark will be seen again this season. It's a good sign that the Fever haven't already shut her down for the year, but quite often hope doesn't become a reality. Right now, Indiana is fighting for its playoff life. Due to losing four out of their last five games, the Fever have dropped down to No. 7 in the WNBA standings. They still rank No. 3 in the Eastern Conference standings. Clark returning to the court might just be the push that Indiana needs to get back to being a contender. Ideally, with the time she has been out, she would be coming back at 100 percent health without much of a risk of another injury popping up. Hopefully, the Fever will have some good news to share about Clark in the near future. For now, all fans can do is wait and hope that she'll be able to make a return to the court before the end of the year.
