The St. Regis Bar is honouring jazz with a toe-tapping affair for one night only

April 30 is a pretty special date; if you know, you know. Jazz fans definitely will. And if you're one of them, here's the good news. To celebrate International Jazz Day, The St. Regis Bar in Abu Dhabi is turning up the volume with a toe-tapping night you won't want to miss. Bring your love for a good night out, a well-crafted drink and some seriously smooth vibes. On Tuesday April 29, from 9pm to 11pm, the bar will come alive with the soulful sounds of VNTG, a three-piece jazz ensemble that blends old-school charm with a modern twist. Led by bassist and vocalist Rudo Pieterse – a three-time South African Music Award-nominated arranger who has shared the stage with icons like Alicia Keys and Gregory Porter – the group is joined by pianist Joel Ison and drummer Janelle Bernado. Together, they'll bring fresh life to classics from across five decades, creating a mood that feels both familiar and entirely their own. Of course, it wouldn't be The St. Regis Bar without something delicious in hand. For the occasion, the team has put together an à la carte menu that nods to the Prohibition era, filled with signature mixed drinks and tapas-style bites. Expect gambas al pil pil with a coriander beurre blanc or a mushroom tosta layered with urgelia cheese and almond pesto – each dish thoughtfully paired with drinks that make the most of the bar's moody, vintage-inspired setting. Wrapped in rich wood panelling and tucked-away corners, The St. Regis Bar sets the scene for a grown-up night out, whether you're catching up with friends or you're out on a business meeting. This is one mellow Tuesday evening that's sure to take you back in time.
