Shoppers rave about £12 Superdrug perfume similar to £290 Tom Ford scent
Superdrug shoppers have said that the retailer's Cherry Noir perfume is a dead ringer for Tom Ford's Lost Cherry - but it is sold at just a fraction of the price of the designer scent Superdrug customers loving a £12 fragrance that they say is just like a luxe Tom Ford aroma. The high-end Lost Cherry by Tom Ford retails at £290 for a 50ml bottle, but Superdrug's Cherry Noir is priced at £12 and touted to 'last all day'. While Cherry Noir doesn't detail its scent profile online, it features notes of cherry, amber, sandalwood, vanilla, musk and coconut. It lacks the bitter almond, plum and cinnamon notes present in Lost Cherry. The perfume has garnered an impressive average score of 4.4 out of 5 on Superdrug's website. A satisfied customer wrote: "Amazing! I have had Tom Ford's Lost Cherry, I've had more expensive [alternatives] to Lost Cherry...I came across this and it smells exactly like it! A tiny fraction of the hundreds of pounds you would pay for Tom Ford and a smell that lasts all day, even through a 14hr shift at work. I'm amazed and I'll be buying this over and over again!" Man shares 'gran's cream' that 'cleared spots and blemishes in four days' 'I tried a natural alternative to hayfever medication and noticed a big change' Another said: "This is supposed to be an [alternative] for Tom ford lost cherry however I have never smelt that before so can't compare. However I absolutely love this scent, it's definitely got notes of cherry which is a scent I already adore but it's also long lasting which is fantastic as some perfumes only last a couple of hours. It's a decent size bottle for the price too, I am very impressed with this perfume and look forward to trying more of this range", reports the Manchester Evening News. However, one customer expressed disappointment due to a 'medicinal' aroma, commenting: "Cherry Noir definitely smells very similar to the Lost Cherry fragrance, especially once the perfume has settled on the skin. However, the opening notes of Cherry Noir smell very synthetic and almost medicinal, which initially put me off the scent. "Cherry Noir comes in the standard white bottle that all Artiscent fragrances use. The bottle is 50ml, so it's convenient to take along during daily activities or travel. In terms of lasting power, this stayed on my skin for around 6 hours. I wore it to work and could still faintly smell it at the end of the day." Meanwhile, another person praised the scent, writing: "Perfume for the spring. The freshness of juicy cherries smells sweet and mysterious. Amber and Sandalwood gives a lovely warmth to the scent. It lingers for a long time on the skin and even longer on my clothes. it's a great choice for everyday, This is affordable yet screams luxury from the bottles minimalistic design to the scent." The 'luxury' fragrance isn't the sole product at Superdrug drawing comparisons to high-end goods. The 100ml £3.50 Fruity Mist Caramel and Pistachio has been likened to Sol de Janeiro's Cheirosa 62. One shopper remarked: "Before trying this mist, I was worried that it would be too sweet, but I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of freshness it gives. Save your money on Sol de Janeiro and buy this, you won't regret." A 120g pot of B. Melting Cleansing Balm offers a fragrance-free and gentle solution for makeup removal, suitable for sensitive skin. A customer commented: "Lovely product, skin texture is noticeably softer and smoother directly after use...I would prefer if it had a subtle natural spa smell but then guess that'd make it Elemis and potentially irritable - maybe make 2 versions?" The mentioned Elemis balm comes with a price tag of £49 for a 100g container.
