Shoppers rave about £12 Superdrug perfume similar to £290 Tom Ford scent

Daily Record5 days ago
Superdrug shoppers have said that the retailer's Cherry Noir perfume is a dead ringer for Tom Ford's Lost Cherry - but it is sold at just a fraction of the price of the designer scent
Superdrug customers loving a £12 fragrance that they say is just like a luxe Tom Ford aroma. The high-end Lost Cherry by Tom Ford retails at £290 for a 50ml bottle, but Superdrug's Cherry Noir is priced at £12 and touted to 'last all day'.
While Cherry Noir doesn't detail its scent profile online, it features notes of cherry, amber, sandalwood, vanilla, musk and coconut. It lacks the bitter almond, plum and cinnamon notes present in Lost Cherry.
The perfume has garnered an impressive average score of 4.4 out of 5 on Superdrug's website. A satisfied customer wrote: "Amazing! I have had Tom Ford's Lost Cherry, I've had more expensive [alternatives] to Lost Cherry...I came across this and it smells exactly like it! A tiny fraction of the hundreds of pounds you would pay for Tom Ford and a smell that lasts all day, even through a 14hr shift at work. I'm amazed and I'll be buying this over and over again!"
Man shares 'gran's cream' that 'cleared spots and blemishes in four days'
'I tried a natural alternative to hayfever medication and noticed a big change'
Another said: "This is supposed to be an [alternative] for Tom ford lost cherry however I have never smelt that before so can't compare. However I absolutely love this scent, it's definitely got notes of cherry which is a scent I already adore but it's also long lasting which is fantastic as some perfumes only last a couple of hours. It's a decent size bottle for the price too, I am very impressed with this perfume and look forward to trying more of this range", reports the Manchester Evening News.
However, one customer expressed disappointment due to a 'medicinal' aroma, commenting: "Cherry Noir definitely smells very similar to the Lost Cherry fragrance, especially once the perfume has settled on the skin. However, the opening notes of Cherry Noir smell very synthetic and almost medicinal, which initially put me off the scent.
"Cherry Noir comes in the standard white bottle that all Artiscent fragrances use. The bottle is 50ml, so it's convenient to take along during daily activities or travel. In terms of lasting power, this stayed on my skin for around 6 hours. I wore it to work and could still faintly smell it at the end of the day."
Meanwhile, another person praised the scent, writing: "Perfume for the spring. The freshness of juicy cherries smells sweet and mysterious. Amber and Sandalwood gives a lovely warmth to the scent. It lingers for a long time on the skin and even longer on my clothes. it's a great choice for everyday, This is affordable yet screams luxury from the bottles minimalistic design to the scent."
The 'luxury' fragrance isn't the sole product at Superdrug drawing comparisons to high-end goods. The 100ml £3.50 Fruity Mist Caramel and Pistachio has been likened to Sol de Janeiro's Cheirosa 62.
One shopper remarked: "Before trying this mist, I was worried that it would be too sweet, but I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of freshness it gives. Save your money on Sol de Janeiro and buy this, you won't regret."
A 120g pot of B. Melting Cleansing Balm offers a fragrance-free and gentle solution for makeup removal, suitable for sensitive skin. A customer commented: "Lovely product, skin texture is noticeably softer and smoother directly after use...I would prefer if it had a subtle natural spa smell but then guess that'd make it Elemis and potentially irritable - maybe make 2 versions?" The mentioned Elemis balm comes with a price tag of £49 for a 100g container.

Princess Andre eyes up Kylie Jenner empire as Katie Price says she's been 'shut out'

Reality TV star Princess Andre has been tipped as the UK version of Kylie Jenner as she sets her sights on a huge beauty empire following the success of her ITV show Princess Andre is setting her sights high, reportedly aiming to become Britain's answer to Kylie Jenner. ‌ The 18-year-old daughter of Peter Andre and Katie Price has launched a new ITV show, The Princess Diaries, spotlighting her efforts to build a cosmetics empire and step into the beauty industry spotlight. ‌ The new reality TV show, which has already been deemed a hit with viewers, follows the teen's journey from celebrity daughter to budding entrepreneur. The series documents Princess as she works toward launching a cosmetics line, navigating fame, business, and growing up in the public eye after a traumatic childhood after her parent's bitter divorce. ‌ Now, insiders have revealed that they have no doubt that Princess has the ability to be the UK's answer to Kylie Jenner. It comes after Katie raged 'I'm not the enemy' as she lashed out at kids over 'control'. A source close to the production told The Sun: "Princess has got ambitions of being the next Kylie Jenner. "Everyone's been saying they can see that happening, with her own TV show and a make-up range coming out. She also has lots more deals in the pipeline to consider." ‌ They added: "When Katie says that Princess is 'following in her footsteps,' she isn't." Her show has already made waves, reaching number one on ITV after its debut which has proved her popularity with a younger audience. ‌ "She is gonna be like the next big thing, someone who young people can relate to,' the insider added. However, behind the scenes, family tensions have surfaced between Princess and her famous mum. Katie has publicly admitted that she feels excluded from Princess's career and frustrated by how her involvement has been blocked by her daughter's management who also represent her ex-husband Peter Andre. ‌ Speaking on her podcast, Katie said: "I don't need it rubbed in my face of everyone playing happy families." Despite her emotional reaction, she maintains support for her children's success. "I want the best for Junior and Princess, always, I'll never get in the way of that," she insisted. ‌ Katie described feeling deeply hurt over being sidelined: "When your kids grow up, you're there for everything... Knowing what my career has been, Princess has taken that same path, which I absolutely love and adore of Princess." Yet, she says she's been blocked from every part of the process: "I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. "I'm not allowed and I'm not welcome. They think I am trash basically."

'I visited 17 European cities in a year — skip these 3 for a better time'

A travel influencer and foodie has revealed the three European cities she 'would have skipped' after spending time in 17 different destinations across the continent One woman has revealed the three European destinations she'd avoid going to again, having visited 17 different cities last year. Sooyeon, who lives in San Francisco in the US, went on the adventure of a lifetime to visit the continent. ‌ Having stopped off at more than a dozen cities, she found herself disappointed by three locations in particular. On her TikTok channel @soos. foods, she revealed: "These are three cities I probably would've skipped," before clarifying, "Doesn't mean these are bad destinations, I just didn't enjoy them as much as other cities." ‌ Madrid topped her list of disappointments, reports the Manchester Evening News. Despite spending two and a half days there in 2022 following a visit to Barcelona, she confessed that the coastal city won her over far more than Spain's majestic capital. ‌ She explained: "The main reason is because I went to both Madrid and Barcelona on the same trip, and I feel like Madrid didn't have as many interesting things to do for me at least, other than the palace and museums. "...If I were to do this trip again, I would probably skip Madrid and spend more time in Barcelona." Catania proved another destination that failed to meet Sooyeon's hopes. ‌ Situated on Sicily's eastern coastline, the ancient port city initially appeared like a perfect 'Italian holiday' destination, yet it didn't match her expectations. Sooyeon shared: "The city just felt a little run down and not the safest. "People were also not afraid to stare at you - I'm sure they weren't trying to be rude or mean, but it felt a little uncomfortable as a female traveller." Berlin also featured on Sooyeon's list, though her concerns with the German capital differed from her gripes about Catania and Madrid. ‌ She recognised Berlin's 'welcoming' atmosphere and its selection of 'cool cafes, shops and roads', yet felt something was missing. "Don't get me wrong, I would love to live in Berlin," Sooyeon confessed. "But, as a tourist, I feel like the main attractions are history museums which I personally am not the biggest on, especially because at this point on my trip I was getting severe museum fatigue." She also observed that the dining scene was rather international, making it trickier for her to discover genuine local dishes, which remains a priority during her travels. ‌ "The food scene was also pretty international, so I didn't find as many options for authentic local food, which is something I try to eat everywhere I go. Again, this is just my experience - what doesn't work for me, could work for you." Sooyeon's honest assessments triggered a wave of reactions on TikTok, with users split over her views on these beloved destinations. One user championed Madrid, declaring: "I will not accept any Madrid slander! I've been like four times and it's an incredible city." Others urged travellers not to dismiss Catania, with one comment stating: "Everyone here pls don't skip Catania," whilst another user challenged her perception of Berlin's cleanliness: "Berlin is clean? What girl?"

Liam Gallagher's emotional five-word welcome to Edinburgh crowd at second Murrayfield gig

The Gallaghers have now played two out of three of their Edinburgh reunion gigs. Oasis have now performed two out of three of their reunion gigs in Edinburgh, which kicked off at Murrayfield Stadium on Friday, August 8. And at last night's gig, Saturday, August 9, Liam Gallagher delivered a heart-felt five-word message to the crowd of 70,000. ‌ As the Gallagher brothers kicked off their concert with hit track Hello, Liam soon acknowledged the sea of adoring fans, saying: "We have missed you too" before the Britpop rockers performed Acquiesce to the sold-out stadium. Cheers and applause flooded in from the fans following the emotional remark, reported Edinburgh Live. ‌ Fans were overjoyed to see the formerly feuding brothers come together on stage, even holding hands and giving each other hugs throughout the performance. This run of Edinburgh gigs marks the first time Oasis have played Murrayfield since 2009, when they played the Scots stage just months before their infamous split up that would see them estranged for some 15 years. ‌ And emotions were high all round over the weekend, as Noel Gallagher even shared a sweet moment with a young fan who was holding a sign saying 'Oasis saved me' at Friday's gig. The teenage Oasis devotee was moved to tears after concert-goers helped push her to the front of the crowd. ‌ Jessica, from south west Scotland, had secured a prime spot at the barrier for the show, and her handmade sign caught the attention of Noel and his bandmate Bonehead. The 17-year-old fan revealed the groups' music had 'saved her life' during difficult struggles with her mental health. ‌ Jessica, who never believed she would see Oasis perform live, said she felt like her entire existence had been 'leading up to this moment'. She told the Manchester Evening News: "Oasis is my favourite band and has been for a very long time. When their reunion was announced I was so happy, I got tickets in the presale and started a little countdown to my gig. ‌ "My whole life was building up to me seeing them. "My mam had bought me a little blanket/flag and said I should take it and I decided to paint on it saying how much Oasis means to me and hope I got to a barrier to show them. "I was third row for most of the gig but the people in front of me were so kind and let me to the barrier to hang my sign over it during the encore. I was sobbing - like I had been for most of the gig - and during The Masterplan I saw Noel look over. ‌ "He had to tilt his head because I was very far on his left and there were cameras and speakers in the way and my flag was tilted a bit to the side and difficult to read. "He saw and smiled at it and occasionally looked over through the rest of the songs." Paul Arthurs - Bonehead - also spotted the sign, and later replied to Jessica on X, writing: "I saw your flag too and I'm glad [I] did, you carry on and hold your head high. We're right behind you."
