Billie Eilish's Year-Old Album Returns To No. 1 On Multiple Charts

Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft returns to No. 1 on two Billboard charts as it rises across ... More several tallies thanks to its one-year anniversary and her ongoing tour. Broadcasted live on FOX. (Photo byfor iHeartRadio) Billie Eilish is currently in the midst of her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour. The singer-songwriter began the trek in the fall of 2024 and has dates scheduled through late 2025. At the moment, she's playing to massive crowds across Europe, and in the fall, she will return to the United States for a second leg due to overwhelming demand. The album that Eilish is promoting via the trek, Hit Me Hard and Soft, recently celebrated its first anniversary — and yet the American public is not done listening to it. Not even close. Hit Me Hard and Soft appears on half a dozen Billboard charts in the U.S. this week, and it climbs on every tally it inhabits. That's an impressive showing for a title that has now spent just over one year on each ranking it finds space on. Eilish's third full-length rises highest on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts. Last frame, the title sat in the runner-up position on both, but now it's returned to No. 1. Eilish has now led the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster for 41 frames with Hit Me Hard and Soft, while the collection has conquered the Top Alternative Albums tally for 46 stretches. Hit Me Hard and Soft also bolts back into the top 10 on three other Billboard lists. It climbs to No. 10 from No. 11 on the Top Streaming Albums chart and improves from eleventh place to ninth on both the Billboard 200 and Vinyl Albums rankings. The Grammy-nominated effort only misses out on a top 10 showing on the Top Album Sales chart, though it does gain ground there, jumping from No. 18 to No. 15. Interestingly, Hit Me Hard and Soft climbs across the board, even though total consumption of the project is actually down. Luminate reports that the set shifted 31,200 equivalent units in the past tracking period — a dip of just 1.5% from the previous frame. That said, sales of the full-length did rise, growing 6% to more than 4,100 copies.

Ghost Reigns on Rock Album Charts, Scores 9 Tracks on Hot Hard Rock Songs Tally With ‘Skeletá'

Ghost's Skeletá debuts atop a trio of Billboard rock albums charts, including the flagship Top Rock & Alternative Albums survey dated May 10. The full-length studio set earned 86,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of availability (April 25-May 1), according to Luminate. Of that sum, 77,000 units are via traditional album sales. More from Billboard How Did Ghost Score Its First No. 1 Album on the Billboard 200 With 'Skeletá'? Kendrick Lamar Leads 2025 BET Awards Nominees With 10 Nods Prince Royce to Sing at TelevisaUnivision's Upfront in New York The bow of Skeletá atop Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums gives Ghost its fourth No. 1 on both, following the reigns of Impera (2022), Prequelle (2018) and the EP Popestar (2016). Additionally, its No. 1 on Top Hard Rock Albums is the band's seventh, with the aforementioned albums joined by 2024's Rite Here Right Now soundtrack, 2023's Phantomime EP and 2013's Infestissumam. With seven No. 1s on Top Hard Rock Albums, Ghost moves into a three-way tie for the third-most rulers since the ranking began in 2007, alongside Five Finger Death Punch and Foo Fighters. Most No. 1s, Top Hard Rock Albums: 9, Linkin Park 8, Pearl Jam 7, Five Finger Death Punch 7, Foo Fighters 7, Ghost 6, Disturbed 6, Korn 6, Nickelback As previously reported, Skeletá is Ghost's first No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 and the first hard rock release to top the ranking since AC/DC's Power Up in 2020. Concurrently, nine songs from Skeletá's 10-tune tracklist dot the multimetric Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, paced by 'Peacefield,' which rises 13-4 largely from 2.6 million official U.S. streams and 1,000 downloads. 'Lachryma' and 'Satanized' follow, moving 7-10 and holding at No. 11, respectively, though both songs boast higher peaks on the ranking so far — No. 3 ('Satanized' in March, 'Lachryma' in April). The week's top debut of the group, meanwhile, is 'Guiding Lights' at No. 15 (1.1 million streams). Lead single 'Satanized' returns to its previous best of No. 7 (rising one spot) on Mainstream Rock Airplay. Upon its entrance into the top 10, it became Ghost's 10th top 10 since first appearing on the tally in 2015, including five No. 1s. Billie Eilish Returns To No. 1 After A Competitor Forced Her From The Summit

Despite not currently promoting new material with any real might, Billie Eilish is back at No. 1 on multiple Billboard charts this week. She dominates the rankings with both a full-length and one of the biggest songs of her career — and that's saying a lot for someone as successful as she is. 'Birds of a Feather' holds strong at the top of several genre-specific lists, while the full-length on which the track appears, Hit Me Hard and Soft, returns to the summit on multiple rankings, underlining yet again its status as one of the most popular alternative and rock releases in recent memory. Last week, the collection slipped to No. 2 on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts, but it didn't stay there for long. Eilish's bestselling set is now back at No. 1 on both lists. These two Billboard rankings highlight the most-consumed projects in their respective genres, combining sales and streaming data to determine which rock and alternative titles are resonating in the U.S. Hit Me Hard and Soft has now spent the most time at No. 1 on the Top Alternative Albums chart, which makes sense given that the roster is slightly less competitive than its companion tally. Out of the 49 frames the project has appeared on the roster, it has ruled for 43. The same Grammy-nominated effort has also racked up 39 weeks atop the Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking, out of the same number of appearances on the 50-position tally. Meanwhile, last week's champion, Sable, Fable by Bon Iver, experiences a steep decline on the two tallies. Though it launched at No. 1 on the two genre-specific charts, it hasn't been able to maintain its momentum. In its second frame on the rosters, the effort plummets to No. 19 on the Top Alternative Albums list and No. 32 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking. As it rebounds to No. 1 on the aforementioned charts, Hit Me Hard and Soft also climbs on three additional tallies. It reenters the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, soaring from No. 38 to No. 10 with 4,400 copies sold, according to Luminate. The project also nears that uppermost tier on both the Top Streaming Albums chart and Billboard 200, pushing to Nos. 12 and 14, respectively. Eilish even manages to reappear on yet another list, as Hit Me Hard and Soft makes a home on half a dozen tallies this frame. The set is back on the Vinyl Albums chart once more. The former champion reenters the wax-only space at No. 10. While it has spent 49 weeks on each of the other charts it currently finds space on, it has missed just one frame on the Vinyl Albums list.

Lana Del Rey's New Hit Single Helps Her Debut Album Grow

There's a lot of excitement swirling around Lana Del Rey's music right now. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter spent months teasing a new album, and while fans still don't know exactly when they'll be able to hear the full collection — or even what it's called — it's clear that momentum is building. Del Rey has already dropped several tunes from the upcoming project, and it looks like promotion of the full-length has started in earnest. All that attention seems to be having a very real and positive effect on the album that started it all. Del Rey appears on double-digit Billboard rankings with her new single. She only manages to find space on a few lists dedicated to albums, and just her first full-length is still present – and it's on the rise. On the Top Alternative Albums chart, Born to Die nearly cracks the top 10 once more, rising from No. 15 to No. 12. It also lifts four spaces on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster, climbing to No. 22. Perhaps most impressively, it edges closer to the upper half of the Billboard 200, pushing from No. 120 to No. 103. Despite its age – it's now more than a decade old – Born to Die is clearly still connecting with listeners. The title shifted another 12,100 equivalent units in the U.S. last week, according to Luminate. That sum is up almost 8% from the previous frame, a healthy jump for a project first released back in early 2012. As is typical for an older album, most of those units come from streaming activity. That said, Born to Die also managed to sell more than 2,100 copies in terms of pure purchases. The renewed interest in Born to Die (not that it's ever forgotten) is likely tied to the buzz surrounding Del Rey's brand new single 'Henry, Come On.' That recently-released cut debuts on 10 Billboard charts this week. The new tune is set to appear on her forthcoming, still-untitled full-length, and it's off to a strong start. The track reaches so many lists, in part, because it's categorized under both the alternative and rock genres. That style-blending allows it to qualify for multiple tallies, and its sales and streaming showings were strong enough to bring it to many rosters. The single even breaks onto the Hot 100, as well as both of Billboard's global rankings, in its debut frame. It manages to crack the top 10 on two sales-focused charts, opening at No. 4 on the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart and No. 5 on the Rock Digital Song Sales list.

Fleetwood Mac's 50-Year-Old Album Charts Higher Than Ever

Fleetwood Mac continues to do what few others can: remain a chart force with music that's been out for decades. This week, the band manages to do so with a set that's been available half a century, almost to the month. The beloved group's classic Fleetwood Mac album (sometimes called the White Album, as it's the rockers' second self-titled effort) mounts an impressive comeback, reaching new highs, returning to several charts, and even debuting on another tally. Released in 1975, the second Fleetwood Mac reappears on a slew of Billboard charts in America. The legendary collection reenters four tallies and debuts on one more, bringing its total number of current appearances to five. That kind of showing would be impressive for any project, but for a title nearing its fiftieth anniversary, it's almost unbelievable. This frame, Fleetwood Mac reaches brand new highs on three different charts. The set reenters the Top Album Sales and Top Rock Albums lists at No. 17 on both. Meanwhile, it also cracks the top 20 for the first time on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster, appearing at No. 20 — a milestone it hadn't reached before. In addition to its impressive returns, Fleetwood Mac also breaks onto a Billboard ranking it's never been seen on before. The collection debuts on the Vinyl Albums chart, narrowly missing the top 10 as it enters at No. 12. The new arrival gives the group its eighth appearance on the roster dedicated solely to the bestselling vinyl releases in the U.S. Fleetwood Mac also reappears on the Billboard 200 this week, the ranking that tracks the most consumed albums across the country using a blend of metrics. The title is far from new to the all-genre tally. It lands at No. 94 on the list during this frame, its one-hundred-and-sixty-ninth on the Billboard 200. At one point, it even climbed all the way to No. 1. In the latest tracking period, Fleetwood Mac moved 12,500 equivalent units in the U.S., with 7,000 of those being pure sales. That sales figure represents an almost 2,000% increase from just a few days prior, as interest in the collection skyrocketed. The surge is attached to Record Store Day, as a special picture disc vinyl of the album was released to celebrate its upcoming fiftieth anniversary. Only about 6,500 copies of the new edition were pressed, yet somehow the title managed to sell more than that figure, as other versions were also available to purchase.
