Aanathazhchira to be transformed into a nightlife tourism destination
The Tourism department has come out with a project to transform Aanathazhchira, near Technocity, at Pallippuram here into a nightlife tourism destination, as part of an initiative to develop unexplored spots to attract tourists. The project will be implemented on 16.7 acres of land owned by the Revenue department and the Andoorkonam grama panchayat. PPP model The Department of Tourism will implement the nightlife tourism project in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model by including it under the initiatives that came up in the Tourism Investors Meet (TIM). An expression of interest (EoI) for construction activities will be floated in September. A freedom park by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) will also come up on the fringes of the project area. The park, which will have an exhibition space featuring latest innovations by start-ups, will be the country's first such park by a start-up mission. Water adventure sports, an eco-friendly park for children and a cycle track will be part of the eco-friendly project. Revenue Minister K. Rajan will hand over the title deed of the land to Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas at a function to be held at Aanathazhchira on Wednesday. Minister for Food and Civil Supplies G.R. Anil, the local MLA, had proposed the project considering the immense potential of the place and its proximity to Technocity. Mr. Anil will preside over the function.

Kerala Tourism to complete 100 projects this year
A high-level review meeting, chaired by Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas, here has decided to complete around 100 tourism projects at the initiative of the Department of Tourism this year. The meeting, attended by higher officials of Kerala Tourism on Tuesday, also discussed the ongoing projects as well as those in the pipeline. The Minister directed the officials to set an accurate time-frame for the completion of the current projects and follow up each phase of them in a systematic and time-bound manner. The Minister will also assign officials to ensure the timely completion of the projects. The meeting also decided to bring out an advanced event calendar of Kerala Tourism's flagship programmes such as Onam celebration, Champions Boat League, New Year lighting and Beypore Fest. Mr. Riyas suggested the beginning of preparations for the events conducted by Kerala Tourism. 'A dedicated system will be set up to evaluate the progress of the projects approved by the Centre as per the suggestions of the State government. An order has been issued for implementation of more projects that came up at the Tourism Investors Meet,' the Minister said. The meeting also approved an action plan for developing WE-Parks across the State utilising spaces under overbridges. The Kerala Tourism Infrastructure Ltd. (KTIL) will take up the construction of these parks.
