Baghdad Mayoralty Launches Tourism Program for Delegations Attending Arab Summit
The Baghdad Mayoralty announced today the completion of 84 reconstruction projects across the capital as part of its preparations to host the upcoming Arab League Summit. In addition to the infrastructure upgrades, the city is planning cultural and heritage tours for accompanying delegations.
Baghdad Mayoralty spokesperson Uday Al-Jandil stated in a press briefing that 'visits for accompanying delegations will not be limited to official meetings within the Green Zone, but will also include tours of heritage areas such as Al-Mutanabbi Street and the Al-Saray district.'
He noted that 'Baghdad's selection as the Arab Capital of Tourism for 2025 underscores the significance of these historical sites.'
Al-Jandil added that cleaning and maintenance operations are ongoing around the clock, particularly within the Green Zone, to ensure a welcoming environment for visiting dignitaries.
He also highlighted that: 'The 84 completed projects by the Mayoralty mark an unprecedented wave of reconstruction in Baghdad in recent years.'
