New Delhi: One of Salman Khan's most-loved films in the last decade is Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which was released in theatres on July 15, 2015. The film also had Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead. Recently, acclaimed screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad revealed that he has indeed discussed the script of Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 with Salman Khan, and the actor is impressed with it. He told PTI, "I met Salman last Eid. I narrated a line to him; he liked it. But let's see what happens. So fans can be hopeful that a sequel may get announced soon." While there have been several ongoing rumours about a Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel, it is only now that new developments are being reported. Sources close to the film, as reported by Pinkvilla, also suggest that Salman Khan and Vijayendra Prasad have met multiple times to discuss the story concept for the sequel, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 might just finally be taking off. Talks about Kabir Khan helming the sequel as well have made some buzz. However, no official confirmation has been shared yet by the maker. For the unversed, Vijayendra Prasad is the father of filmmaker SS Rajamouli. He is well-known for his works in Magadheera (2009), Eega (2012), the Baahubali films (2015-2017), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), and RRR (2022), to name a few. Bajrangi Bhaijaan revolved around a six-year-old mute Pakistani girl, Shahida. She gets estranged from her mother, on their way back to Pakistan from Delhi. The story then unravels how the little girl is reunited with her mother.

The reports of Bajrangi Bhaijaan's sequel are again buzzing over the internet, especially after writer Vijayendra Prasad revealed that Salman liked the story of the sequel. According to Pinkvilla, renowned screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad held several meetings with Salman Khan over the last few months, developing a strong story which could be the sequel. Although the story is still in the development phase. While speaking to PTI, Vijayendra Prasad said, 'I met Salman last Eid. I narrated a line to him, he liked it. But let's see what happens.' I don't know what happened afterwards." When asked about making a film of Mahabharata with Rajamouli, he said, "His ultimate goal is to make Mahabharata." Aamir Khan's Mahabharat project may start this year. Veteran screenwriter and SS Rajamouli's father, Vijayendra Prasad, revealed Aamir had once approached him for the film. Veteran screenwriter and filmmaker SS Rajamouli's father, Vijayendra Prasad, recently revealed that Aamir Khan had once approached him for Mahabharat. However, there haven't been any updates from the superstar about the long-standing film. Aamir Khan's Mahabharat has been in the ideation phase for years. Recently, the actor said that work on the film is likely to start this year. Amid this, Vijayendra Prasad reflected on his past conversation with Khan about the film. He told PTI, 'Sometime ago, he (Aamir) came (to me) with an idea to make Mahabharat. I don't know what happened afterwards." When asked if he would like to be a part of Mahabharat made by son Rajamouli, the Rajya Sabha MP said, 'His ultimate goal is to make Mahabharata." He also reflected on a conversation he once had with son, Rajamouli. 'One day, my son Rajamouli asked me, 'Father, can you tell me which way India is rich?' I was trying to find an answer when he said, 'India is rich in stories'. We have Mahabharata and Ramayana. So, we have to encash this. That is our property, our richness. We are blessed with such stories." However, Aamir isn't the only Khan who has approached Vijayendra Prasad for his film. Last year, Salman Khan met him to discuss the sequel of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. And reportedly, things looked positive. 'I met Salman last Eid. I narrated a line to him, he liked it. But let's see what happens," said the Magadheera writer. About Aamir Khan's Mahabharat, the actor expressed his desire to start work on the film this year. He told The Hollywood Reporter that the ambitious project will release in multiple parts, like the Lord of the Rings franchise. He further mentioned that it might take a while to greenlight the project since the writing itself will take a few years. The Andaz Apna Apna actor added that he's not sure whether he will act in Mahabharat yet. He mentioned that the team will pick actors based on who fits each role. 'We'll see who we should cast based on who's appropriate for which part," he said. The star mentioned that he may not direct the film himself because it's a big project and will need several films to tell the full story. 'I don't think you can tell the Mahabharat in one film, so it will be multiple films. I am looking at the large scale," he said. Aamir further noted that it maybe a multi-director project.
