Business and trade expo of Tenkasi attracts over 10,000 participants, visitors

The 'Business and Trade Expo', jointly organised by Voice of Tenkasi Foundation and the Tenkasi District Micro and Small Enterprises Association (TEMSEA) on Saturday and Sunday attracted over 10,000 visitors including local entrepreneurs, startup founders, students and the general public. The expo featured more than 150 stalls from a wide range of sectors including banking, household products, industrial equipment, agricultural tools, drone technology, beauty and wellness and food products. Founder of Voice of Tenkasi Foundation Ananthan Ayyasamy, in his inaugural address, emphasised that promotion of entrepreneurship could be the panacea for a range of social issues and unemployment. The expo was organised to inspire and guide emerging entrepreneurs and Voice of Tenkasi was committed to supporting such efforts of job creation in rural areas. Zoho Corporation's Chief Scientist Sridhar Vembu, chief guest, urged the aspirants to start immediately and not to delay the execution of their plans. 'It may take time, but your perseverance with focus and intensity will ensure success to follow,' he said. Co-founder of Naturals C. K. Kumaravel, founder of Yelty Softcom R. Arjunamoorthy also spoke. On the second day, a 'Pitch Contest' was held featuring young entrepreneurs presenting their ideas to a panel of investors. It was followed by interactive panel discussions and workshops. A closed-door session was conducted with 40 startups brought in through Startup TN, in which Mr. Sridhar Vembu shared his personal experiences and guided them. He also answered business-related questions from the young startup founders. Mr. Ananthan Ayyasamy later moderated a discussion on the topic 'How to Scale Up Startups in Rural and Urban Areas', which provided valuable insights to micro and small enterprise owners. A business networking platform organised throughout the two-day event facilitated one-on-one interactions between budding entrepreneurs, students, and successful business leaders.

Career guidance workshop held in Tirunelveli

Voice of Tenkasi Foundation and Iyanthiran Edge Private Limited jointly organised a career guidance programme for Plus Two students here on Sunday. The event, powered by Zoho Corporation, attracted nearly 1,000 students and their parents, who met representatives from over 20 colleges. Over 15 career guidance booths were set up to enlighten the students. Experts from engineering, software development, medicine, business, government services, and emerging fields addressed the students. Founder of Voice of Tenkasi Foundation Ananthan Ayyasamy, in his keynote address, emphasised the need for awareness of avenues available for students after Plus Two and a thirst for higher education, especially for rural students. Speakers including Mohammed Ajhas, co-founder and CEO, Mandlac Technologies (engineering), Mejella, Soft Skill Trainer, Zoho (software and IT courses), Shandeep, student of medicine of Madurai Medical College (medicine), R. Thiru Murugan, Kalasalingam University (business and commerce), Prabhu Shankar Nanjappan, Manidhanaeyam IAS Academy (civil services and government exams), Karunya Gunavathy, CEO, Iyanthiran Edge Private Limited (unexplored career paths and emerging fields) and P. Lakshmana Kumar, vice-principal, S. Veerasamy Chettiar Group of Institutions (scholarships and financial assistances) addressed the students. A special question and answer session moderated by Bismi, founder of Jamila School, enlightened the students and gave the opportunity to clarify their doubts. The event concluded with a networking session that allowed students to interact with college representatives and career mentors.
