Career guidance workshop held in Tirunelveli
Voice of Tenkasi Foundation and Iyanthiran Edge Private Limited jointly organised a career guidance programme for Plus Two students here on Sunday.
The event, powered by Zoho Corporation, attracted nearly 1,000 students and their parents, who met representatives from over 20 colleges. Over 15 career guidance booths were set up to enlighten the students.
Experts from engineering, software development, medicine, business, government services, and emerging fields addressed the students.
Founder of Voice of Tenkasi Foundation Ananthan Ayyasamy, in his keynote address, emphasised the need for awareness of avenues available for students after Plus Two and a thirst for higher education, especially for rural students.
Speakers including Mohammed Ajhas, co-founder and CEO, Mandlac Technologies (engineering), Mejella, Soft Skill Trainer, Zoho (software and IT courses), Shandeep, student of medicine of Madurai Medical College (medicine), R. Thiru Murugan, Kalasalingam University (business and commerce), Prabhu Shankar Nanjappan, Manidhanaeyam IAS Academy (civil services and government exams), Karunya Gunavathy, CEO, Iyanthiran Edge Private Limited (unexplored career paths and emerging fields) and P. Lakshmana Kumar, vice-principal, S. Veerasamy Chettiar Group of Institutions (scholarships and financial assistances) addressed the students.
A special question and answer session moderated by Bismi, founder of Jamila School, enlightened the students and gave the opportunity to clarify their doubts. The event concluded with a networking session that allowed students to interact with college representatives and career mentors.
