Inside Meghan Trainor's Weight Loss Journey: Everything the Singer Has Said About Her Health

Singer Meghan Trainor has lost weight after making "huge lifestyle changes" She started her weight loss journey after welcoming her second child with husband Daryl Sabara Trainor has "never been more comfortable" in her bodyMeghan Trainor is sharing the intimate details of her weight loss journey. In March 2025, Trainor wore a black off-the-shoulder dress to attend Billboard's Women in Music Awards. After fans took notice of her new appearance, Trainor addressed her significant weight loss on Instagram, attributing her transformation to "huge lifestyle changes" such as using the weight-loss drug Mounjaro and working with a dietitian. "No, I don't look like I did 10 years ago. I've been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me," the singer — who shares two kids with her husband, Daryl Sabara — said. In May, Trainor showed off her abs and recent breast augmentation surgery as she performed in a sparkly two-piece set at iHeartRadio's 102.7 KIIS FM Wango Tango. "I have never been more comfortable in my body," she told PEOPLE in March 2025. "I've been working with a therapist for a long time, trying to rewire my brain to love myself more. It's always a work in progress, and that's why I write all these anthemic songs of, 'I love myself,' because it's constantly a thing I'm working on." Here's everything Meghan Trainor has said about her weight loss. Trainor began losing weight after welcoming her first son, Riley, in 2021. She lost 60 pounds through diet and exercise, she told Entertainment Tonight Canada in November 2022. "I was in a really dark place, and I wanted to be in a great place for my son," she said. "I worked [out] every day. I learned that I do like healthy food, and I learned what portions mean." After giving birth to her second son, Barry, in 2023, Trainor resumed her weight loss journey. During an April 2025 episode of Trainor and Sabara's podcast, Workin' On It, the couple opened up about using Mounjaro, which is FDA-approved to treat type 2 diabetes. (The same medication under the brand name Zepbound is approved for weight loss, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.) The couple decided to take Mounjaro after talking to their doctor, emphasizing that it wasn't a substitute for diet and exercise. "You have to put in the work as well,' Trainor said. "We stay in the gym, we work out, we eat right, and we just noticed that we were less hungry." While appearing on Today in December 2024, Trainor revealed that strength training has been critical in her weight loss journey, typically lifting three times a week. 'I didn't know lifting weights would change my life so much," Trainor said. "I was, like, dying, trying to run on the treadmill, and it made me swollen.' In January 2025, the "All About That Bass" singer told Women's Health that her current fitness goal is to "grow my butt back." "I lost so much weight that my booty is looking different," Trainor explained to the outlet. "I was like, 'Wait. I'm the 'Bass' girl with a big butt!' [I've been trying to] lift heavier and do [more] glute activities." Trainor told Women's Health that she strives to eat 100 grams of protein a day. She'll typically snack on two eggs and organic turkey bacon for breakfast, while lunch and dinner usually come from a meal delivery service. "I wish I knew how to cook. I make bland stuff," Trainor told the outlet. "But my husband is a nerd about finding food delivery companies that give you protein and help you out with a journey like that. So we're always looking for a new one." Sabara and Trainor aren't just husband and wife — they're also workout buddies. They typically hit the gym three days a week while their nanny watches Riley and Barry. While strength training is their primary focus, Trainor enjoys encouraging Sabara to push himself physically. "I've been begging [Daryl] to join me so I'm not alone," she told Women's Health. "It's funny, I do hard stuff and he's like, 'I don't want to work that hard.' I'm like, 'But you should!'
