After Ayushmann Khurrana's first look, Dinesh Vijan's team has revealed the looks of its leading cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, and others. Who's playing what in Thama? Ayushmann Khurrana plays Alok in the film. His character description reads, 'Insaaniyat ki aakhri umeed (the last ray of hope)". The shade of his character is kept a secret from the audience. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Maddock Films (@maddockfilms) Rashmika Mandanna steps into the role of Tadaka, described as 'Roshni ki ek hi pehli kiran" (the very first ray of light). Her character promises to be the spark of hope in a universe that is set to embrace both love and chaos. On the other end of the spectrum, Nawazuddin Siddiqui transforms into Yakshasan, hailed as the 'Andhere ka Badshah" (King of Darkness). True to his reputation, Nawazuddin is expected to bring intensity and depth to a menacing character who defines the darker shades of the story. Adding a touch of satire and wit, veteran actor Paresh Rawal takes on the role of Mr Ram Bajaj Goyal, a man 'jo humesha comedy mein tragedy dhoondhte hain" (who always finds tragedy in comedy). His presence is set to balance the film with layers of humour amidst the bloody saga. The makers have announced that the World of Thama will officially be unveiled tomorrow, August 19, at 11:11 am. The film follows the journey of a relentless historian who delves into ancient manuscripts, only to unearth sinister truths behind age-old vampire legends — secrets that awaken terrifying supernatural forces. Ayushmann and Rashmika on Thama Thama has been a challenge for Rashmika Mandanna. While talking about the film, the Pushpa star told The Nog Magazine, 'Oh my God! Thama. For Thama, we really, really put in the work. Till then, I thought, okay, I've been through it. I've seen it all. I'm 24–25 films down. What else can there be? And then Thama comes and you're like, 'Oops, I wasn't ready for that.' I feel that is going to change people's perspective of me in a way." Meanwhile, Ayushmann, who returns to the big screen two years after Dream Girl 2 in 2023, said, 'For me, Diwali is about togetherness, it is about family, and it is about having the best community experience by spending time with your friends. I'm a big movie buff, and every year, I have a ritual to go to the theatres with my family and watch a film on Diwali! We have so much fun together, and it makes me so happy to see scores of people thronging to the theatres to watch these big releases." He added, 'So, it feels amazing to have a big Diwali release with Thama. It is the biggest release of my career, and I'm really eager to spread joy, happiness, and laughter with the entire country with Thama. The fact that my film could be one of the reasons for people to have a great festive period feels really surreal." Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya fame and backed by Maddock Films' Dinesh Vijan, the film promises audiences a 'bloody love story" that will light up cinemas worldwide this Diwali. The film boasts an ensemble cast and contributions from talents like Amar Kaushik, Niren Bhatt, and music by Sachin-Jigar. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
