FM asserts Egypt's commitment to strengthening cooperation with NATO
CAIRO – 22 May 2025: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty asserted Egypt's commitment to strengthening cooperation with NATO, especially through existing collaboration with the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding (CCCPA). He proposed expanding tripartite cooperation in Africa to combat terrorism and organized crime, according to a press release here Thursday. During a meeting with the NATO Council in Brussels, Abdelatty briefed members on Egypt's efforts to end the Israeli assault on Gaza and achieve a ceasefire. He strongly condemned Israel's violations against civilians and rejected collective punishment and forced displacement of Palestinians. On Syria, he reaffirmed Egypt's support for Syrian sovereignty and the need for an inclusive political process to ensure stability. Regarding Libya, he reiterated Egypt's position on preserving Libya's unity and sovereignty, supporting legitimate institutions, unifying executive and security bodies, disbanding militias, and ensuring the withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries

Egyptian FM meets president of Congo Brazzaville, delivers message from Sisi
CAIRO – 5 March 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty delivered Wednesday a message from President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi to President of Congo Brazzaville Denis Sassou Nguesso, expressing keenness on expanding ties in all fields. The minister suggested - in the meeting attended by the Congolese defense minister - preparing for holding the third session of the supreme joint committee to designate collaboration plans in the sectors of agriculture, digital transformation, tourism, real estate, manufacturing, and developing economic zones. Minister Abdelatty noted Egypt's readiness to back Congo's development plan 2022-2026. He highlighted that Egyptian investments across Africa had hit $14 billion, and the experience of Egyptian firms in implementing projects in the fields of infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and pharmaceutical. Hence, the minister expressed eagerness for introducing water and electricity in Maloukou Industrial Zone, which is part of Brazzaville Special Economic Zone. On a different level, the minister gave an overview of the training programmes offered by Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), as well as the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD). Equally, the minister underscored Egypt's readiness to assist with human capacity-building through vocational training and scholarships, exchanging experience on pharmaceuticals, and delegating doctors in specializations where there is shortage. In respect of regional issues, the Egyptian minister congratulated President Nguesso on his efforts that culminated to the signing of a Libyan reconciliation agreement during the latest African Union Summit last month. The two sides also conferred over the ongoing efforts to achieve a settlement to the conflict in Sudan, and on updates of the Gaza ceasefire. They further agreed on maintaining consultations and coordination to unify stances at international organizations, and on exchanging support to each other's candidates running for international positions. Currently, Egypt's Khaled al-Anany is running for UNESCO secretary-general.
