Wicked 2 debuts first clip of iconic song in new teaser ahead of trailer release
Wicked fans have been treated to a first tease of iconic song 'For Good' in an exciting new teaser clip. The anticipated second movie instalment of the hit musical, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, arrives in cinemas this November and audiences don't have long to wait to see the official trailer. Universal Pictures UK revealed that the trailer for Wicked: For Good will drop this Thursday (5 June), sharing a new clip to tease the trailer release. The clip itself saw the Wicked cast appear in character to the tune of the film's namesake title - and one of the musical's beloved songs - 'For Good'. The song plays as a piano instrumental version, with Erivo and Grande's voices heard together for the famous lyric: "I have been changed." Erivo is the first to appear as Elphaba in the clip, followed by Jonathan Bailey's Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh's Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum's The Wizard. Related: Ethan Slater stars as Boq, followed by Marissa Bode who plays Elphaba's sister Nessarose Thropp. The clip ends on Grande as Glinda, who waves her wand and the film title appears. It's likely that the Wicked: For Good trailer will drop in the UK in the early hours on Thursday morning, which will work out as Wednesday evening (4 June) in the US. The second movie will see Act II of the musical brought to life on the big screen, with Wicked Part One ending on Cynthia Erivo's acclaimed rendition of 'Defying Gravity' (which coincidentally ends Act I of the musical). Related: 'For Good' is one of many musical numbers fans can look forward to in Part Two, with other anticipated soundtrack songs including 'No Good Dead', 'As Long As You're Mine' and the reprise of 'I'm Not That Girl'. Wicked: For Good will arrive in cinemas on 21 November. Wicked is available to rent now from , , and other digital retailers in the UK. Digital Spy's first print magazine is here! It's really exciting. It's dangerous, it's sexy, it's very John Wick," she said. "I think people are going to be surprised. I'm biased. Of course, I like the movie, but I think it's really cool. It's going to be amazing." On the reshoots, she said: "All we did in those reshoots had to be there. We got amazing footage. It's really spectacular." How to Train Your Dragon gets new UK streaming home ahead of the remake's release
How to Train Your Dragon has found a new UK streaming home ahead of the live-action remake's release. The 2010 animated DreamWorks classic aired on ITV1 yesterday, and is now available to stream on ITVX. That means UK viewers can watch the film for free. The free tier does have ads, but you can pay for ITVX Premium at £5.99 a month/£59.99 a year. The film follows an awkward teenage viking boy named Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) who decides not to follow in his clan's footsteps by killing a dragon that he meets. Instead, he decides to befriend the creature, calling it Toothless. Adapted from Cressida Cowell's 2003 book of the same name, the upcoming live-action remake will follow the same plot, and has even brought back Gerard Butler as Hiccup's dad, Stoick the Vast. Related: UK film release dates The films also share the same director, Dean DeBlois, who stated that he doesn't understand the criticism about why they're making a live-action version. "It's an interesting one for me, because I've firmly been on the side of not just adapting those films as a trend," he said. Related: "I love animation, and I love those films that come out of the studios, but I've never been for remaking movies in a new medium without any real purpose to it. "But when Universal talked about this project and seeing it through as a live-action film, it, to me, kind of pinged something in me regarding the making of the first movie that was always an ambition for Chris Sanders and I. Which is to lean into a live-action sensibility." The How To Train Your Dragon live-action remake is released in cinemas on 9 June. The animated version can be streamed on ITVX now. Barry Keoghan's brutal Irish crime thriller is now streaming for free
Barry Keoghan's Irish thriller Calm With Horses is now available to stream for free. Titled The Shadow of Violence in the US, the 2019 film is set in rural Ireland and follows ex-boxer Douglas 'Arm' Armstrong as he becomes the feared enforcer for the drug-dealing Devers family. Trying to be a good father to his autistic five-year-old son, Douglas' loyalties are soon tested when he's asked to kill for the first time. Calm With Horses is now available to stream for free in the UK on Channel 4's streaming service after airing on Film4 last night. As well as Keoghan, the movie stars Warfare's Cosmo Jarvis, Peaky Blinders actor Ned Dennehy, The Wonder's David Wilmot and Braveheart's Liam Carney. Related: Best streaming services Directed by Nick Rowland, Calm With Horses was a hit with critics, earning a 'Certified Fresh' score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes from 70 reviews. "Calm With Horses presents a grimly effective portrait of one man's struggle with divided loyalties, elevated by standout performances from a stellar cast," reads the site's critical consensus. Keoghan can currently be seen on the big screen in psychological thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow, which is an extension of Grammy winner The Weeknd's new album of the same name. The singer stars alongside Keoghan and Jenna Ortega as a fictionalised version of himself battling insomnia, who is "pulled into a nightmarish odyssey with a stranger who begins to unravel the very core of his existence". Related: The film has a brutal score of just 14% from 69 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing, with critics branding it a "self-indulgent" vanity project for The Weeknd despite sound performances from both Keoghan and Ortega. Keoghan is next set to star in Netflix's upcoming Peaky Blinders movie The Immortal Man. Set a few years after the events of the show's season six finale, the movie follows the Shelbys during World War II. Digital Spy's first print magazine is here! Netflix's "brutal" sequel to its hit horror trilogy is available to watch now
Netflix's "brutal" Fear Street sequel is now available to watch on the platform. Fear Street: Prom Queen follows on from the 2021 trilogy of movies, all based on the RL Stine books, and centres on a prom night in 1988 as a bloody murderer is on the loose. The movie is now available to watch for Netflix users globally as of today – so if you're looking for a chilling weekend watch, look no further. The film follows prom season at Shadyside High, with the school's It Girls "busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown". However, "when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court" and other girls mysteriously disappear, "the class of '88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night," the synopsis adds. Related: Best streaming services Prom Queen has landed a largely mixed reception from critics, sitting at a 45% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with TheWrap writing: "Fear Street: Prom Queen isn't a bust, it's just not very inspired. Again, those brutal murders will help you get through it." "Fear Street started as a series that tried to reinvent the wheel, even just by dint of its structure and nods to the innate curse of marginalization; this is empty-headed, straightforward slasher schlock on purpose," added "That's all well and good in some contexts, but if that's what you want, why not just watch one of the classics instead?" Related: The Daily Beast called the movie "cartoonishly gory and drearily unoriginal and predictable", adding: "It's a collection of tired devices and shout-outs that plays like training wheels slasher cinema." Prom Queen stars The Nevers' India Fowler, Red Rocket's Suzanna Son, Paper Girls' Fina Strazza, and The Summer I Turned Pretty's David Iacono, with Matt Palmer directing.
