Commuters have been warned of disruption on two tram routes due to essential engineering for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said the work would be taking place at Pomona and on the Eccles line over a nine-day period in have faced weeks of disruption to the Metrolink tram network in Manchester city centre this summer, as part of a £150m began in June, with TfGM replacing older sections of tram track between Piccadilly Gardens and Piccadilly station. TfGM said a bus replacement service would operate between Eccles and Piccadilly, via Wharfside, during the closure, and serve all affected tickets will only be accepted on the replacement bus and not on numbered bus services. A MAIN rail route out of York is closed this weekend. Engineering work is affecting train operating services between Leeds and York via Garforth this weekend (June 21 and June 22). As reported by The Press, Network Rail said five weekends of planned works are taking place as part of the TransPennine Route upgrade.
