The house that Roy Keane built but simply can't score a sale
Take a sneak peek around Roy Keane's former Manchester pad that has been on the market for 15 years. The eight-bedroom property includes a games room, extensive grounds, and there's also a master suite which is dominated by a massive four-poster bed with mirrors on the ceiling. 15 years after it first hit the market, Roy Keane still hasn't shifted his former Manchester mansion despite knocking €3.5 million off the asking price. Pic: Roy Keane/Instagram In 2005, for around £3.2m, ex-Man United midfielder Keane and his wife Theresa bought the 1.2-acre plot where they built a sprawling eight-bed property in upmarket Hale for around £3.2m But in 2010, the house hit the market with an asking price of just under €10million. But despite dropping the price of the house, Keane still can't find a buyer to take the pad off his hands. Keane bought the property when he was playing for Manchester United. Pic: Roy Keane/Instagram Cork native Keane bought Chantry Dane in the footballer's enclave of South Sale Drive back when he was playing for Manchester United. Notoriously private, the property is protected from onlookers by the tall trees that line the leafy cul-de-sac, supported by dense mature shrubs. The extensive grounds provide the home with a countryside manor, rather than a suburban house and feature an outdoor swimming pool with an independent pool house and tennis courts set amongst the landscaping. The house is nestled among trees and expansive greenery. Pic: Roy Keane/Instagram There's also a three-car garage and a separate annexe included. But the real coup de gars of Keano's former love east has to be the enormous 28' x 25' master bedroom with en suite, dressing rooms and a four-poster bed with what appears to be a mirrored ceiling. Aside from the master bedroom, there are seven more bedrooms which all appear to be decorated with various tones of brown. Roy Keane has shared images of his swimming pool and pool-house on social media. Pic: Roy Keane/Instagram There are brown leather sofas, brown rugs, brown cushions, brown bathrooms, brown doors, brown bed linen and brown baths on show. There's also a full-size snooker in the games room, a gigantic screen and in the kitchen, there is a bald AGA cooker and range for scrambling up some home-cooked grub. The house is still on the market. Pic: Roy Keane/Instagram But despite the four-poster bed, the mirrors on the ceilings, the Aga and the swimming pool, Keane simply can't sell the house, and it is still on the market for anyone with deep pockets and a penchant for brown furnishings.

Roy Keane disagrees with Rio Ferdinand as Liverpool set for gesture from Chelsea and Arsenal
Former Manchester United skipper Roy Keane has disagreed with his former teammate Rio Ferdinand about Chelsea and Arsenal giving Liverpool a guard of honor. Following their rampant 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last time out at Anfield, Liverpool wrapped up the Premier League title with four games to spare. Their first game since winning the title will see the Reds face off against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with Enzo Maresca's side set to give Liverpool a guard of honor prior to kick-off. It is also presumed Arsenal, the team Liverpool play the following weekend at Anfield, will give the Reds a guard of honor in their first home game since winning the title, although it is not clear if this is a certainty. "I don't like it," Peter Crouch said on TNT Sports during their coverage of Aston Villa and Fulham's Saturday clash. The ex-Liverpool striker added: "I don't know... Maybe it shows respect, but I think it's a bit embarrassing for the team that comes out and it's highly embarrassing for the team that is clapping them on the field. It's not for me." Ferdinand added: "I didn't like it. "I've been fortunate enough to receive a guard of honor and be on the receiving end of it, and both are quite awkward. Crouchy is exactly right." "In the game to get respect you have to show respect" Roy Keane discusses the guard of honour. — Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) May 4, 2025 However, Keane, speaking on Sky Sports, disagreed with both Crouch and his former teammate. "Do you know what, I think in the game, to get respect, you have to show respect," said Keane, whilst the broadcaster showed footage of Man United giving Chelsea a guard of honor back in 2005. "People might not like it, obviously it's nice when you get it, but you have to give it. It's part of the game. It'll be different if it were real rivals, just say maybe Man City against United or Everton versus Liverpool but I think you have to do it. It's part of the game. "It's the respect and yeah, a nice touch. Chelsea obviously deserved it [in 2005]. And as I said, to get respect, you have to show it. It works both ways." On Friday, Maresca confirmed Chelsea would honor the Reds. "It's tradition," the Italian said during his pre-match press conference on Friday. "We have to do that, and we are going to do that. They won the Premier League, so they deserve it."

Jamie Carragher reveals why he missed Liverpool's title celebrations - after pundit's no-show for Sky Sports coverage of crucial Tottenham clash
Jamie Carragher has revealed why he was absent from Liverpool 's title celebrations. On Sunday, Arne Slot 's side thrashed Tottenham 5-1 as to ensure a historic 20th league title - with players and staff soaking up the occasion on the pitch. A number of former Liverpool stars were present at Anfield to celebrate the achievement - however former Reds defender Carragher was not one of them. Carragher, 47, would typically be on Sky Sports commentary duty for such a game, alongside Gary Neville, but on Sunday only the ex-Man United defender was there. Now, Carragher has explained why he wasn't at the stadium and revealed where he was instead. Speaking on CBS Sports' Champions League show on Tuesday night, Carragher said: 'I was in London for the marathon'. What a weekend for the Carraghers ❤️ @carra23 's Liverpool are back on their perch and Nicola completing 6 marathons in 8 months! — CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) April 29, 2025 Carragher's wife Nicola had been competing in the London marathon on Sunday morning and it was clear that the ex-Reds star opted to be cheering in support. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Carragher shared a picture of his wife with the caption: 'Wonder Woman @nicolacarragher finished her marathon challenge of the six @wmmajors in seven months! 'Very very proud husband, can't even begin to know how her body must feel today but she'll get herself in shape for the next one in Sydney in August. 'Well done my little pocket rocket'. Nicola joined a plethora of famous faces - including former Chelsea captain John Terry - after competing in the London Marathon. However, former Blue Terry suffered every runners nightmare as he bled from his right nipple in the closing stages of the London Marathon. Terry could be seen walking at around 21 miles with a pained expression on his face as a stream of what appeared to be blood ran down his white t-shirt. The 44-year-old also looked to be limping. He was running to raise money for the charity Rays of Sunshine, which helps children and young people living in the UK with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness. A world record 56,000 runners were expected to participate in the 26.2-mile race that started at Greenwich Park, snaked along the River Thames before finishing on The Mall. Temperatures were expected to rise up to 20 degrees Celsius in the capital. Alongside the former England captain was ex-Chelsea assistant manager Jody Morris.

Eagle-eyed fans spot Gary Neville making a swift exit from Anfield after bumping into Liverpool legend during wild title celebrations
Eagled-eyed fans have spotted the moment Gary Neville made a swift exit from Anfield - just 14 seconds after Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions. The Reds thrashed Tottenham 5-1 on Sunday to ensure they secured a historic 20th league title - with players and staff soaking up the occasion on the pitch. However, along with the travelling Spurs fans, there was one man inside Anfield who did not care to see the title celebrations. Neville, who had been on co-commentary duty for Sky Sports, appeared in the background of a video posted on Liverpool's X account, just after the final whistle. As the majority of Anfield rejoiced in celebration, the ex-Man United star snuck out the commentary box - but not before bumping into Liverpool legend John Aldridge. The pair shared a quick embrace - with Neville all smiles - before the former United full-back continued on his way, with his backpack slung over his shoulder. Neville, who was on co-commentary for Sky Sports, hurried out of the media zone - but not before bumping into Liverpool legend John Aldridge, who was on commentary for the club Fans were quick to spot the moment and comment on it on social media, with one user writing: 'It was literally impossible for @GNev2 to leave that gantry any quicker'. Prior to kick-off, Neville had already outlined how it was a 'sobering' day for Man United as their record (20) for most league titles was matched by Liverpool. Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of Sunday's match, a downbeat Neville conceded: 'You have to respect the team that have won the title, they have been the best team. 'It is one of the great coaching performances we have seen, to come in and not get players, and still achieve this, you have to hand it to him. But it is a sobering day.' On the wider significance of Liverpool reaching 20 titles, Neville added: 'It is a massive deal. 'When you think of the importance of a league title, the managers at Liverpool and United always talk about your bread and butter being the league. You could debate the most successful club when United were on 20. 'Obviously Liverpool have more European Cups, but the painful thing to say is the debate is over for a period until United become successful again and win leagues. 'It should cause real tremors at Old Trafford. Liverpool will be the most successful club after today, and that should cause heartache and pain. 'It took a lot to get ahead of Liverpool, and now that will be gone.' 🏃♂️ It was literally impossible for @GNev2 to leave that gantry any quicker 😂 — The Redmen TV (@TheRedmenTV) April 29, 2025 Though he didn't hang around the commentary box, Neville was still on hand post-match to deliver a scathing assessment of one of Spurs' players on the day. He took aim at 19-year-old midfielder Lucas Bergvall for his role in Liverpool's third goal and labelled the Sweden international as 'pathetic'. 'Bergvall's header is appalling, it's pathetic,' Neville said on Sky Sports commentary. 'He half ducks his head. 'I have no idea what he's doing. It was a free header and he ended up glancing it into his own box'.
