Atalanta Talisman Publicly Demands Transfer & Wants Inter Milan: ‘I've Given Everything, Atalanta Are Not Keeping Their Promise & Blocking A Sale'
Ademola Lookman has publicly demanded a transfer from Atalanta, accusing La Dea of 'not keeping their promise' to sell him to Inter Milan. The 27-year-old took to Instagram with a blunt message to his current employers. He argued that they are subjecting him to 'poor treatment as a human being and a footballer.' Inter Milan have been trying to sign Ademola Lookman from Atalanta since mid-July. The Nerazzurri have long had an agreement on personal terms with the Nigerian international. Then, this past week, Inter raised their offer to €45 million including add-ons. And once again, Atalanta rejected this bid. Lookman himself feels that Atalanta have already promised to sell him this summer. This after they had kept hold of him twelve months, despite Paris Saint-Germain's efforts to sign him. They report that the reports of an agreement are true, but that La Dea view it as valid only for clubs outside Serie A. At the heart of the burgeoning transfer soap opera between Inter Milan, Atalanta, and Ademola Lookman, is a supposed promise that La Dea made to Lookman. Last summer, Paris Saint-Germain had made an offer for Lookman. And the player was keen to join the Parisians. However, Atalanta insisted on keeping Lookman. And in order to convince him to accept staying, they made him a promise that he could leave after another season. Therefore, that is what Inter offered for Lookman. Then after Atalanta rejected that initial bid, the Nerazzurri raised their offer to €45 million including add-ons. But once again, Atalanta turned the offer down. This has caused some confusion for Inter. And especially for Lookman, who openly declared that Atalanta had 'broken their promise' to him by not facilitating his sale to Inter. La Repubblica confirm that there was a promise. And that it was for a sale of around €40 million. However, Atalanta had made the promise with the condition that it would be valid for clubs outside Serie A, the newspaper add. Then, the Bergamo club still expect to be able to sell Lookman on their own terms. They don't want their hand forced, and want to dictate the timing of the move.

The Nerazzurri believed that €40 million would be in the ballpark of an offer that Atalanta would accept. But that has not proven to be the case. Atalanta have not just rejected that offer. They've also turned down a bid worth €45 million including add-ons. Hence Lookman's anger with Atalanta over this alleged broken promise in his social media post.
