Sharon Stone slams ‘Basic Instinct' reboot: ‘Good f–king luck'
Sharon Stone doesn't approve of the planned 'Basic Instinct' reboot. During a new interview on 'Today,' the 67-year-old actress slammed Amazon MGM Studios' intentions to remake her iconic 1992 erotic thriller, which also starred Michael Douglas. 'If it goes the way the one that I was in went, I would just say, I don't know why you'd do it,' Stone told Craig Melvin. Advertisement 6 Sharon Stone on 'Today.' She reprised the role for the 2006 sequel which, unlike the original, bombed at the box office and got scathing reviews from critics. 6 Sharon Stone in 'Basic Instinct.' ©TriStar Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection After Stone gave her blunt response about the reboot, Melvin, 46, told the actress that he found her take to be refreshing. 'I'm at that stage where I already retired once, and I already died a couple of times,' Stone explained. 'I'm like, 'What are you gonna do? Kill me again? Go ahead.'' 'I call my writing partner the TWISTED LITTLE MAN and he lives somewhere deep inside me. He was born 29 and he will die 29 and he tells me he is 'sky high up' to write this piece and provide viewers with a wild and orgasmic ride. That makes me very happy.' The Wrap also reported that the reboot is expected to be 'anti-woke.' 6 Sharon Stone in 'Basic Instinct 2.' ©MGM/Courtesy Everett Collection Despite the film's massive success, Stone previously shared that filming 'Basic Instinct' was a 'scary' process. 'I got to confront my whole self, and that's a scary journey,' she told People in 2023. 'But once you do it, you walk away with a tremendous amount of confidence because you've had to look at all of yourself, parts of yourself you would never have to dig deep and look at, scary parts, dark parts, concerning parts.' 'And once you do that, you get quite a bit of confidence because you've really looked into the dark mirror,' she added.

Masters Of The Universe random casting generator spits out "Kristen Wiig as Roboto"
Depending on how you want to break up the various attempts, drafts, and dreams that have made up the various efforts, we've now been watching Hollywood try to make itself a He-Man/Masters Of The Universe movie for more than a decade at this point. Amazingly, the film—now under the plastic aegis of Amazon-owned MGM—has finally been shot, and is now in post-production. But the powers that gave us seemingly random casting decisions like 'Jared Leto as Skeletor' or 'Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn' turn out to have been holding back one last fun, borderline nonsensical surprise for us, as THR reports today that Kristen Wiig is voicing Roboto in the action-figure-based film. Roboto is—as you know—a robot man, constructed by heroic inventor/'guy played by Idris Elba' Man-At-Arms. (Who, we feel like we have to constantly remind ourselves, has a completely normal number of arms, despite hanging out with a multi-faced dude named Man-E-Faces.) Roboto is one of those good-style robots you're always hearing about, with a functional heart that allows him to emotionally connect with his colleagues, and be mad at talking skeletons who are constantly causing trouble. We do not, off the top of our head, know why you'd cast Kristen Wiig in this particular part—for all the world, it feels like casting agents for the film were toying around with a random name generator—but we're guessing it'll be entirely a voice role, given that the original Roboto figure, released back in 1985, doesn't even seem to have a face. (Also, the movie is already finished shooting, and you're probably not going to go back for reshoots just to get a lil' more Roboto.) Wiig is, in addition to her other talents, a well-known voice actor, having starred in projects like Sausage Party and its TV spin-off as well as the Despicable Me franchise. She's currently on the hook for a second season of her live-action Apple TV+ show Palm Royale, but we're guessing that voicing the robot that works for He-Man's dad's head guard probably won't take too big a chunk out of her busy schedule. Masters Of The Universe is currently scheduled for a June 5, 2026 theatrical release. More from A.V. Outlander Blood of My Blood fans issue same complaint just three episodes in
Outlander: Blood of My Blood sees episodes released weekly *Warning: may contain spoilers for Outlander: Blood of My Blood* Outlander: Blood of My Blood fans have issued the same complaint just three episodes in the brand new show. Outlander fans are all eagerly awaiting the eighth and final season which is set to be released next year, concluding author Diana Gabaldon's impressive 11-year run. But fans are now tuning into the prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood with episodes dropping on MGM+ on Prime Video weekly. Outlander fans are finally able to stream the prequel to the popular show which explores the relationship of Jamie Fraser's parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie. Having premiered on August 9, Outlander: Blood of My Blood ventures into unexplored territory as it's not based on any book. But with the third episode being released on Saturday, August 16, fans have all been issuing the same complaint. Prime Video writes about the episode: "Ellen hatches a new plan to protect herself and her family. Julia is forced to make an impossible choice." However, taking to Reddit, some fans have been unimpressed so far, as they ask for more Brian and Ellen screen time. One person said: " Why are Brian & Ellen not having any interactions anymore? I loved the idea of them at first but I thought we'd see them sneaking off to meet each other. Their relationship just isn't developing at all." Another wrote: "I crave more Brian and Ellen. The one plotline I'm worried about is the Murtagh-Brian relationship that will inevitably suffer when Murtagh will find out about Brian and Ellen. I'm curious how the whole thing will play out. We know that in the end, Brian and Murtagh still remained close, but the strain on their relationship will surely show at some point." A third added: "Brian & Ellen went from 0-100 aye?! I'm agreeing now that a more gradual buildup might a been nice. Andddd it was a dream." A fourth commented: "Then we move on to Ellen and Brian. Except there is no Ellen and Brian", adding: "My question is, what passed between them during the bridge scene? "They made to believe she stayed for a long time, or was it that the road just took all her time? Did they hand-fast and lay together? Or only exchanged those words? I am so confused and upset that we don't have any development on this." Another penned: "The pacing has been somewhat off since episode one, and I entirely dislike the Brian and Ellen situation as they have next to no screen time and I feel like I'm being kept out of the loop. I was actually angry that the first kiss we saw from them was a dream sequence." However, some fans have praised the series so far as they are already coming up with potential theories for the remainder of the series as well as Outlander season eight. One person said: "I LOVED this episode. It was amazing. And that last scene when Julia opening the door of a clearly decorated room my heart sank because I knew what was coming. "I'm more convinced than ever now that that baby's story will tie into season 8 somehow." Another agreed: "Of course it will. It's the only thing that will make sense. Faith clearly didn't survive and Julia's child will know the Seaside song and pass it down to his/her own children/grandchildren."
