Inside Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty's relationship as they announce split
Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty have announced their separation after more than a decade of marriage. Cat, 48, and Patrick, 54, relocated from Los Angeles to London in 2020, after having lived abroad for more than a decade. In a joint statement the couple have said: 'We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. 'We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.' The So You Think You Can Dance host has been a staple of British TV since the late 1990s and even moved out to the US to present the dance competition. Cat moved her entire family out to the states following her success but she and her comedian husband have moved back to London since. She took over from Holly Willoughby on This Morning in 2024, reportedly keen to work alongside Rylan Clark as a co-host. Cat was unveiled as the new host of This Morning, alongside Ben Shepard, in February 2024. Earlier this year, it was revealed why Cat did not attend the funeral of Patrick's mother in County Down, Northern Ireland. The presenter said she wanted to be there for her sons Milo, nine, and James, seven, before and after they finished school as they grieved the loss of their grandmother. Her representative confirmed to MailOnline: 'Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day. Patrick is the host of The Late Late Show on Ireland's RTE One channel, he also presents a Saturday morning programme on BBC Radio 5 Live. The star has recently interviewed the likes of Paul Mescal, Andrew Scott, Jean Claude Van Damme, Take That and Jamie Dornan. He was announced as the host last year, taking over as the show's fourth-ever presenter from Ryan Tubridy. Before his turn as a late-night host, he was a stand-up comedian and toured in 2022 for the first time in seven years. In 2003, Patrick co-presented the talent competition show Fame Academy on BBC One alongside his future wife, Cat. Cat and Patrick met on the set but it would be years before they got together – partly as the Stars in Their Eyes presenter was married at the time. After her split, she revealed she would 'love to tie the knot' one day and really admired her parents' 30 year marriage. Slowly the friendship between the model and comedian devloped into a relationship and in 2012 they got married at an intimate ceremony in Rome, Italy. He had won her over by flying out to Los Angeles to see her on her birthday, paying for her and all her friends. 'That's quite possibly the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me,' Closer magazine quoted her as saying. 'And he was just sitting there hanging out with 12 of my friends, making everybody laugh. 'It was romantic, noble, kind of amazing and pretty hard not to fall in love with him.' They moved back to their North London home, ditching the £3.8 million Beverly Hills mansion with its lavish amenities – including pool, gym and sunshine. The pair kept their kids fairly out of the spotlight but did occasionally post snaps together as a family on special occasions. Cat and her family now reside in a £4.9 million 1950s home in leafy Hampstead, with Harry Styles as one of their famous neighbours. Together the couple have two sons; Milo born in January 2016 and James who arrived two years later in June 2018. Before welcoming James, Cat had shared with The Daily Mirror: 'I would love some more. But I have got to get on with it if I do. 'When you go for your check-ups they call you a 'geriatric mum'. That is the terminology they use, I swear.' Before falling for Patrick, Cat was in a five-year relationship with public relationships executive, Mark Whelan. They got together in 2000, tying the knot despite the presenter – then in her late 20s – saying she wasn't sure about marriage just yet. More Trending The divorce was finalised in February 2006, as Cat upped sticks to the US and admitted that her focus was on work at the time. View More » During her American adventure, she began dating Expats star Jack Huston, nephew of Anjelica Huston, although this romance was short-lived and fizzled out by 2011. Got a story? The 'terrifying' reason Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley swapped LA for London
TV stars Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley had spent the last year renovating their new London home after moving back from LA. In 2020, Cat and Patrick announced they wanted to leave LA after a 'terrifying gun incident'. They bought a €5.7 million (£4.9 million) property in Hampstead, North London, which they were in the middle of renovating. Speaking to You magazine at the time, Cat revealed: "I got a call from Paddy, saying, 'They're taking us out through the fire exits but nobody can get to their car. If we walk to a junction, can you come and get us. "He wanted to keep Milo calm, so I didn't understand the enormity of what was happening. As I was driving I began to see helicopters, news vans, firemen and Swat squads." Describing the incident as "terrifying" and revealing her husband was "shaken", Deeley said they had to revisit the shooting incident again when they were looking for prospective schools for their son. "There was a moment when I was with a friend looking at potential schools for Milo and we had to ask the question nobody wants to: 'What do you do if there is a live shooter on the premises?'... The danger suddenly becomes a reality." Their London home was renovated to create a "west coast-inspired" home, drawing on mid-century modern architecture, with Cat sharing some details of their renovation on their home on her Instagram stories. The couple's architect told the MailOnline: "The proposed external appearance builds on the inherent character of the existing house but updates it into a contemporary dwelling both in use and character. "It is inspired by mid-twentieth design ranging from the designs of Alvar Aalto to houses of the west coast of America which are familiar to the clients who spent many years living there." "Materials have also been introduced that connect the clients to their previous home in LA and to places that have significant memories for them." Last year, Patrick revealed he contracted shingles from doing a loft renovation in their home and was afraid he had infected Pope Francis when he was invited to Rome to meet him. The Late Late Show host travelled to the Vatican in June and was among an audience of 100 international comedians and artists who met the Pope. "The week beforehand, we were doing up a house, and I was lifting loft insulation and I thought I actually got loft insulation in my face. (My face) had all swollen up," he added. "When meeting the Pope, I took off my sunglasses and could sort of see him physically recoiling, 'what's going on with this fella'? "It was only afterwards that I actually found out I had shingles. So there was a chance that I had given the Pope shingles, but I was never so glad to actually see him the week after in full health, giving the blessings. It was a surreal experience." Moment furious motorist blows up as he denies scratching car in alleged crash - while other driver insists they have 'matching' scratches
This is a moment a furious motorist denied scraping a car despite the other driver insisting there were similar-looking scratches on both vehicles. The heated confrontation unfurled in the middle of a quiet residential road in the seaside town of Worthing, West Sussex, on Friday. Footage shows the driver of a grey Nissan denying that he was involved in an accident. 'I didn't hit your f****** car, prove it,' the angry motorist can be heard saying. The other driver, who filmed the clip and gave only his first name as James, then claims that the damage on his car is 'consistent' with the mark left on the Nissan. The pair then begin shouting at each other in the middle of the street as shocked passersby watch on. At one point the grey Nissan driver goads the other motorist to call the police as he continues to deny that he hit his car. James said: 'He came right up in my face and was punching his fist into his hand, then goading me trying to get me to hit him. 'I stood calmly and said I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction. From the word go his was lit, so aggressive. 'In the end I asked him to provide his details. He replied "No, I don't see why I should". 'The guy with his shirt off said, "just go through the insurance company, they will sort it out you have his reg number he can't go anywhere". 'I said, "I will do that and he will just deny it". 'More people started appearing on the street to see what was happening with the raised voices. 'The aggressor then left went inside and I jumped back in my car and drove home. 'I reported to the police online (they never turned up in the end as that is what we were all waiting for). 'They said, "anyone injured?" we said "no'" and they said they were not going to attend. 'I notified my insurance company with the boring admin. 'I posted a link of the video on the Nextdoor app to see if anyone local knew of him and a woman called Caroline mentioned she had run in with him previously.' MailOnline has contacted Sussex Police for comment.

Gemma Owen stuns in an all-white ensemble as she enjoys a rare family outing with mum Louise and dad Michael at Goodwood Festival
Gemma Owen turned heads in an all-white ensemble as she enjoyed a rare family outing with her proud parents Michael and Louise at Goodwood Festival on Tuesday. The Love Island star, 22, looked incredible in a crisp white blouse tucked into a A-line maxi skirt. She added inches to her slender frame with a pair of black heels and shielded her eyes with chic black sunglasses. Her mum Louise, who married footballer Michael in 2005, looked elegant in a light blue lace co-ord. She added a pair of silver open-toe heels and accessorised with silver jewellery. Meanwhile dad Michael put on a dapper display in a navy blue suit paired with a blue shirt and brown shoes. The family all appeared in high spirits as they beamed at the camera while entering the venue. Her outing comes it was revealed in February that Gemma has been setting up her own home since moving out of her family's £4million mansion. In a string of Instagram posts, Gemma revealed her bedroom and kitchen have been transformed, with a muted new décor. One video showed the before and after of her newly-renovated kitchen which is packed with grey appliances, and gold accents and fixtures. Her living room and bedroom continued with the all-grey theme, including metallic blinds, cabinets and matching satin pillows. However, Gemma faced backlash from some users online, after revealing that the renovation was part of a collaboration with a well-known design company, meaning it's likely she didn't pay a penny for the work. In exchange, Gemma promoted the company on her Instagram page, writing: 'Cottage kitchen reno… 'I'm so in love with my kitchen transformation by the incredible team at @prestigedesignyorkshire who have shared my excitement for the project throughout. I'm so happy with the glow up, it's everything that I wanted & more. @prestigedesignyorkshire.' Prior to moving into her cottage, Gemma had been living with her parents at their £4 million mansion in the Welsh countryside (pictured together at the house in 2022) Gemma, who rose to fame on Love Island also shared videos of her new bedroom, while gushing over the luxurious new blinds and curtains she received from Dutch Limes Oak flooring. The clip revealed the star's enormous bed, alongside a sleek, white built-in wardrobe. Prior to moving into her cottage, Gemma had been living with her parents at their £4 million mansion in the Welsh countryside. Ahead of her first stint on the show she admitted that her England legend father 'wasn't happy' about her signing up but he trusted her not to 'embarrass' him. The swimwear brand owner told MailOnline at the time that Michael resisted having a 'tantrum' after learning she will be on the dating show, and eventually gave his blessing, saying: 'I'm not going to tell you what to do.' She said: 'I still wouldn't say that my dad is buzzing about me doing Love Island. 'He's very supportive in whatever I decide to do. He didn't have a massive tantrum or anything like that. 'He was pretty chilled, he trusts me not to do anything to embarrass him. He took it quite well. 'He didn't say I couldn't do this or give me any dos or don'ts. He said I'm not going to tell you what to do, I trust you, you have never given us a reason not to trust you, go for it but I will always have my family's thoughts and opinions in the forefront of my mind because we are all super close and they are the most important people to me.'

Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter reveals the stars on the chopping block amid brutal ITV cuts - and the panelists who are safe
Journalist Janet Street-Porter has revealed which stars are at risk from brutal cost-saving cuts by ITV - and which panelists are safe. The Loose Women personality is a favourite among viewers at home, best known for her candid honesty and dry wit. Now, the 78-year-old has shed light on the reality behind the looming cuts proposed by the broadcaster, which are set to impact several daytime shows. Janet appears certain that the 'older' Loose Women stars are not likely to be cut, given they appeal more directly to the show's target demographic. But she warns that newcomers, younger stars or those with less experience could be at risk. 'There are no plans to get rid of the older women despite what some people have said,' Janet said. 'In fact, the reverse is true. ITV actually put out a statement saying we are the valued members of the show because the audience totally relates to us.' The Brentford-born writer said the panel programme has gained the trust of female viewers as a place where important female-centred topics are discussed. 'I think Loose Women has become a programme that is trusted by a lot of women because we talk about the issues that they are concerned about - whether it's female health, domestic violence or how politicians don't really understand working women,' she said. 'I think the show has managed to connect women who wouldn't otherwise have a voice. 'And it's delivered with a lot of laughs because we don't take ourselves too seriously.' Janet's comments follow the devastating news that Loose Women producers are expected to cut celebrity guests from the show - and growing fears the ITV staple could even be cancelled within a year. The long-running series usually welcomes a host of celebrities onto the panel to promote upcoming projects and have had the likes of Naomi Campbell, Elizabeth Hurley, Joan Collins, and even former Prime Minster Rishi Sunak appear. But according to insiders, once ITV's budget cuts come into effect in January, Loose Women will no longer have A-list guests in the studio, and the broadcast is planned to only consist of the panel debating newsworthy topics from the week. TV sources have claimed that Loose Women is predicted to be completely cancelled within the year, as viewing figures are expected to drop once the show's quality is reduced. MailOnline revealed that the show has axed their studio audience, an integral part to the programme, which caused upset among several members of the long-standing cast including Nadia Sawalha, Ruth Langsford and Coleen Nolan. In May, ITV announced that Lorraine and Loose Women will only air for 30 weeks a year rather than 52, resulting in more than 220 of 440 staff involved losing their jobs. A TV source revealed: 'Not having guests is a big blow for both the presenters and viewers at home. 'The guests are often one of the highest parts of the show, so it feels like a very strange decision to cut them altogether. Instead, the focus will be on guests for Lorraine and This Morning. 'Behind the scenes the presenters are really upset because they love having guests on and feel they offer a different type of interview to the other daytime shows. 'Firstly, there are four hosts conducting the conversation and secondly, they use their interviews to discuss female focused issues, something shows like This Morning don't do as often. 'It's a real shame that in January, the programme will become a shell of its former self before it is inevitably cancelled altogether.' MailOnline understands that the reason for Loose Women axing celebrity guests is because there simply won't be enough manpower to host visitors and their decision has been to prioritise Lorraine and This Morning, so by default, the panel show will ultimately miss out. An ITV spokesperson added: 'While the team is still working on the show for next year, we can assure you that Loose Women remains a big priority within our daytime slate.' Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV1 from 12:30pm and is available to stream on ITVX .
