2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Review, Pricing, and Specs
Overview Given its price point, the Mercedes-Benz C-class does a surprisingly good job of imitating the much larger and pricier S-class. Its interior is comfortable, modern, and well-built with top-notch materials, and it has the classic proportions of an old-school luxury sedan. The C-class is not as refined as Mercedes's flagship sedan, of course, and while it's nimble and reasonably powerful, its suspension tune and steering system could use more work. Still, it's a solid choice for anyone shopping for an entry-level luxury car. Expert Tip: If the C300 is too tame, there are performance-oriented AMG versions available: The C43 makes 416 horsepower, while the plug-in-hybrid C63churns out 671 ponies. What's New for 2026? The C-class sees no noteworthy changes for 2026. Pricing and Which One to Buy The price of the 2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is expected to start around $50,000 and go up to $54,000 depending on the trim and options. C300 $50,000 (est) C300 Exclusive $52,000 (est) C300 Pinnacle $54,000 (est) 0 $10k $20k $30k $40k $50k $60k $70k $80k $90k We'd stick with the base C300, as the Exclusive and Pinnacle trims add mostly fluff—nice fluff, but fluff all the same. That said, we'd probably add a feature or two (e.g., ventilated front seats and adaptive cruise control) to make our commute a little more comfortable. Engine, Transmission, and Performance Engine: 255-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder 255-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder Transmission: 9-speed automatic 9-speed automatic Drivetrains: rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive All C-class models employ a 255-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder enhanced by a 48-volt hybrid system that can temporarily boost power at low rpm. A nine-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive are standard, though Benz will fit its 4Matic all-wheel-drive system for more coin. The C's handling is nimble, but the ride is somewhat flinty, and the steering is lifeless. At least this sedan brakes with vigor, stopping from 70 mph in just 154 feet. Pedal feel could be firmer, though. 0–60-MPH Times C/D 60-mph Test: 5.3 seconds (4Matic AWD) In Comparison: The C300 4Matic's 60-mph time came in at just 0.1 second slower than the all-wheel-drive BMW 330i in our testing. Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG C/D 75-mph Highway Fuel-Economy Test : 35 mpg (4Matic AWD) 35 mpg (4Matic AWD) EPA City Rating : 24-25 mpg 24-25 mpg EPA Highway Rating: 33-35 mpg The EPA hasn't released fuel-economy information for the 2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class yet, but the ratings shouldn't change. The rear-wheel-drive 2025 model earns estimates of 25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway. All-wheel-drive C300s do a little worse in each cycle, with ratings of 24 and 33 mpg, respectively. In our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test, the C300 4Matic beat its highway rating with a 35-mpg result. For more information about the C-class's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo First Row: The C300's cabin looks high-tech and suitably luxurious, with a digital gauge display, touch-sensitive controls, and a host of amenities such as heated front seats with memory settings, a sunroof, open-pore wood trim, and aluminum accents. Fit and finish is also excellent. Second Row: For a compact car, the C300 has a roomy second row. Adults should be fine back there for hour-long rides. Cargo Capacity: Though the Benz's cargo volume is merely adequate for the class, Mercedes installs handy seat-dropping buttons in the trunk so owners can easily free up more storage space as needed. In our testing, we fit six carry-on suitcases in the trunk, and a total of 15 cases with the rear seats folded down. Infotainment and Connectivity Infotainment: 11.9-inch touchscreen 11.9-inch touchscreen Connectivity: Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility Audio Systems: 5-speaker stereo (standard), 15-speaker Burmester stereo (optional) A portrait-oriented, driver-facing 11.9-inch touchscreen is standard in every C-class. The display runs the third-gen MBUX infotainment system, which supports a voice-activated digital assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and wireless device charging are also included, while a head-up display and a 15-speaker Burmester surround-sound stereo are optional. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features Mercedes equips the C-class with some useful driver-assistance features, but the best tech—like the adaptive-cruise-control system that utilizes GPS data to adjust the vehicle's speed for upcoming curves and roundabouts—is optional. Standard Safety Features: automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, automated parking tech automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, automated parking tech Optional Safety Features: adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning For information about the C-class's crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Mercedes Pauses US-Bound EQ Electric Car Production Indefinitely
The latest car news, reviews, and features. It's the end of the line for the EQ brand in America—at least for now. Mercedes-Benz will stop shipping its current generation of electric vehicles to U.S. dealers beginning in September, the German manufacturer told The Drive . Mercedes will continue to produce EQ variants for export to overseas markets here in the United States, but it has no current plans to revive sales in the immediate future. 'Dealers were informed we are putting on hold U.S. order banks for all variants of the EQS Sedan, EQS SUV, EQE Sedan and EQE SUV,' a company spokesperson confirmed. 'Vehicles scheduled for production prior to September 1 will continue to be delivered.' If there's any good news here, it's that Mercedes-Benz has no intention of shutting down production at the U.S. facilities where members of its EQ lineup are built. The company's Tuscaloosa, Alabama, facility has been building the EQS SUV and EQE SUV alongside the GLE and GLS since 2022; both gasoline models will remain on sale. 'The Mercedes-Benz flexible production system can build electric, hybrid and combustion-engine cars on its assembly lines and we are therefore able to adapt our operations to shifts in market demand,' the spokesperson told us. 'We continue to assemble all of our models for global markets.' Mercedes-Benz The EQS Sedan and EQE Sedan are both produced in Germany (Sindelfingen and Bremen, respectively), so the change in allocation won't be felt in U.S. facilities. This development also has no bearing on the company's future electrification plans. The forthcoming all-electric CLA is still slated for introduction here next year, we're told. Only the EQ lineup is impacted. 'The new all-electric CLA, arriving at U.S. dealerships later in 2025, is the first vehicle built on our new Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA),' the spokesperson said. 'As announced at IAA Mobility 2023, Mercedes-Benz will also introduce two SUVs based on this new architecture. Furthermore, the all-new electric GLC will be unveiled at Munich's IAA motor show on September 7, 2025.' In the meantime, those of you here in the States can say 'so long' to some of the company's most forgettable exterior designs. Help us, Mercedes Modular Architecture; you're our only hope!

Nissan Is In Financial Trouble. Now It May Lose an Important Part of its Manufacturing History
Nissan's situation is dire, and its new CEO is implementing drastic measures to turn around the company's fortunes. Last week, the automaker announced it would close its Oppama Plant in Japan by March 2028. It's one of seven Nissan plants to close, and the other six could include two factories in Mexico. A new report from Automotive News , citing 'two people with knowledge of the matter,' alleges the Japanese automaker will shutter its Civac plant by March 2027, which Nissan has been operating for nearly 60 years. It was the company's first factory outside Japan, and currently builds the Navara and Latin America Frontier . A company spokesperson told Autonews a final decision hasn't been made about which plants it'll close next. The report also alleges that the Japanese automaker will dissolve its partnership with Mercedes-Benz early next year after it concludes producing two Infiniti crossovers, the QX50 and QX55, at its COMPAS facility. Nissan announced in January that it'd end production of the two models this December. Workers build the Infinitis alongside the Mercedes GLB . In addition to closing seven factories, reducing the number it operates to 10, Nissan aims to lower production capacity by 30 percent by 2027 and reduce its workforce by 20,000. In May, the company announced it had paused development of certain models , reassigning employees to 'focus on cost reduction initiatives,' even as the automaker works to reduce the time it takes to launch next-generation models. Nissan's Uncertain Future Nissan's new CEO has a lot of work to do, and it seems like every option is on the table. A report from earlier this month alleged Nissan might build Honda-branded trucks at its Mississippi factory. This would help Honda avoid President Donald Trump's tariffs on imported vehicles and allow Nissan to bring the factory's production capacity closer to full utilization. However, the company hasn't made any official announcements. The company is implementing its 'Re:Nissan' recovery plan, which includes laying off approximately 20,000 people, primarily through plant closures. It'll also work to bring its manufacturing utilization to 100 percent at its remaining factories. It'll also attempt to reduce engineering costs by 20 percent, while asking suppliers to take IOUs . If all goes according to plan, Nissan could save $3.4 billion. But this plan arrives after Nissan recorded a net loss of $4.5 billion last year. Mercedes Gives Customers the One Thing They've Always Wanted: Microsoft Teams
Have you ever been driving along in your AMG GT63 and wondered aloud, 'You know what would make this car perfect? Microsoft Teams.' Well, wonder no more, because Mercedes-Benz has teamed up with Microsoft for a new suite of in-car technologies designed to make your work-life balance that much worse. The upcoming CLA will be the first Mercedes model with Microsoft Intune baked directly into its operating system, complete with the 365 Copilot generative AI assistant and the aforementioned Microsoft Teams with an Enhanced Meetings function. With Enhanced Meetings, drivers will actually be able to stream video of themselves while on the move (in countries that allow it). Oh, joy . They won't be able to see shared screens or slides of other participants for safety reasons, and the system will turn off automatically as soon as the meeting ends. Drivers will also be able to see upcoming meetings via a new calendar function. The expanded voice chat system, meanwhile, will allow you to answer work DMs while on the go. Mercedes says the Microsoft partnership turns your car into a "third workspace"—a term only the saviest dystopian novelists could have dreamed up. Just look at how much fun you can have! Naturally, you will have to pay extra for many of these features as part of the Entertainment Package Plus, which includes a full data plan. Mercedes hasn't listed pricing just yet, but we can't imagine it will be cheap. The CLA will be the first Mercedes model with the new Microsoft suite, and the technology will roll out initially in markets like the US and Europe before expanding to more regions. We also expect the entire Mercedes lineup to adopt the technology at some point. That means, soon, everyone will be taking meetings on the go. Just the future we've always dreamed of. Binghatti net profit surges 172% in first half on continued demand
Binghatti Holding Ltd, a leading UAE luxury real estate developer, on Tuesday reported year-on-year profit and revenue almost tripling for the first half of 2025, driven by the continued demand for its projects. Net profit in the first half of 2025 rose 172 per cent year-on-year to Dh1.82 billion, compared to Dh668 million in the same period last year. Total sales reached Dh8.8 billion, representing a 60 per cent year-on-year increase, while revenue surged almost threefold to Dh6.3 billion, making the Company one of the fastest growing in Dubai's real estate market. The Group also saw strong expansion of its development pipeline. As of 30 June 2025, Binghatti's revenue backlog reached Dh12.5 billion, compared to Dh6.6 billion in the same period last year. The surge in backlog was driven by the launch of seven new projects, while five projects were successfully delivered during the first half, handing over 1,441 units into the market. Branded residence drive global investor demand Binghatti's flagship branded residences, developed in collaboration with world-renowned luxury partners Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz, and Jacob & Co. continue to resonate with global customers. In H1 2025, 61 per cent of Binghatti's sales were made to non-resident buyers, up from 55 per cent a year earlier, underscoring Dubai's safe-haven appeal and Binghatti's pro-active marketing, which include the launch of a London sales office in July. Leading buyer nationalities in H1 2025 included India, Turkey and China. While international investors continue to play a growing role in driving sales, Binghatti also continued to benefit from strong local demand, supported by the UAE's expanding population, and ongoing investment in infrastructure and housing accessibility. The company continued to broaden its domestic customer base by improving affordability and access to high-quality real estate developments. In May, Binghatti signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) to offer Sharia-compliant home financing solutions tailored to both ready and off-plan residential units. Under the agreement, eligible buyers will be able to secure financing once construction reaches 35 per cent completion and 50 per cent of payments have been made, a flexible structure designed to unlock new demand among UAE-based homeowners and investors. The company was selected in July by the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) as one of 13 developers participating in the newly launched First-Time Home Buyer (FTHB) Programme. As part of this initiative, Binghatti has committed to allocating at least 10 per cent of its newly launched and existing residential units priced under Dh5 million exclusively to eligible first-time buyers. In July, Binghatti also became a founding partner of the Dubai PropTech Hub, a joint initiative of the DIFC Innovation Hub and the Dubai Land Department. The Hub, which aims to attract $300 million in venture capital by 2030, will position Binghatti at the forefront of real estate innovation through access to emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and sustainable smart infrastructure. As a founding partner, Binghatti will benefit from early engagement with next-generation PropTech start-ups through the Hub's Living Lab, Scale-up Accelerator, and bespoke innovation programs. Binghatti currently has around 20,000 units under development across about 30 projects in prime residential areas across Dubai, including Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah Village Circle, Al Jaddaf, Meydan, Dubai Science Park, Dubai Production City, and Sports City. During the first half, Binghatti launched seven new projects featuring 5,000 units spread over 3.8 million square feet and and handed over five developments comprising 1,441 units over 1 million square feet. The company acquired a landmark megaplot in Nad Al Sheba 1, in the heart of Dubai's sought-after Meydan district with over 9 million square feet of gross floor area, which will serve as the foundation for its first master-planned residential community in Dubai with a total development value of over Dh25 billion. In the first half of 2025, Binghatti's credit profile was formally recognised by leading global rating agencies. In March, Moody's Ratings assigned Binghatti a first-time Ba3 Corporate Family Rating (CFR) with a stable outlook, citing the company's strong market position in Dubai's luxury real estate sector. Shortly after, Fitch Ratings upgraded Binghatti's Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) and senior unsecured debt to BB- from B+, also with a stable outlook. 'The first half of 2025 has been a period of exceptional growth for Binghatti Holding and the extraordinary year-on-year growth of our net profit and revenue is a reflection of the market's confidence in our differentiated model, one that is built around architectural excellence, speed of execution, and integrated value creation across the entire real estate ecosystem. As Dubai continues to attract global capital and high-net-worth individuals, our developments have become increasingly relevant to an international audience. The rising share of non-resident buyers speaks volumes about both our reach and Dubai's position as a safe, fast-growing investment destination,' said Muhammad BinGhatti, Chairman. 'Our H1 2025 results and operational achievements underscore the discipline, agility, and long-term thinking that drive every aspect of our business. Launching seven projects and handing over four in just six months demonstrates our operational leadership in the market and our deep commitment to on time delivery. Our growing backlog, diversified landbank, and expanding portfolio of unique branded residences created in partnership with global icons Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz Jacob & Co. provide the market with luxury living, investment value and architectural distinction,' said Katralnada Binghatti, CEO
