Upstate Teacher's Aide Accused of Engaging in Sexual Intercourse with Teenage Student in Her Car Parked Near School

A teacher's aide in Upstate New York is accused of having sex with a teenage student in her car, which was parked outside the school.
The aide, identified as 19-year-old Alexsandra Morales, allegedly "engaged in sexually charged physical interactions" with the unidentified boy, beginning with "sexually explicit communications and... sexually explicit media," and progressing to "sexually charged physical interactions... in various places within the subject school," according to a complaint filed June 30 by the boy's mother.
Morales Accused of Kissing, Performing Oral Sex and Engaging in Sexual Intercourse with the Student in Her Car
The alleged abuse took place between 2024 and 2025. According to the complaint, it included "kissing in and around" Cohoes High School until the winter of 2025, when the aide "engaged in oral sex with [the student], multiple times in [her] car within the subject school."
"Then, in February of 2025, [the aide] engaged in sexual intercourse with [the student] in [her] car within the... school," the complaint notes. Morales is now facing a pair of criminal misdemeanor charges: sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.
Morales was Arrested After the Teen's Mother Found Out About the Inappropriate Relationship
According to the complaint, the teenage victim's mother found out about the sexual relationship on March 18. Morales was arrested two days later, News10 reported. The student involved was 15 at the time of the alleged abuse and was too young to legally consent, according to police.
Cohoes Police Chief Todd Waldin told News10 that his department pursued felony charges against Morales, but that they were precluded from doing so by the state penal code because the age difference between Morales and the student was less than four years.
Lawsuit Accuses the School of Negligent Hiring, Failure to Take Action Against the Employee Despite Being Aware of the Misconduct
The lawsuit, which was brought under the New York Child Victims Act, accuses the school district of negligent hiring, training, and supervision, as well as failing to remove the employee from the school despite notice of reported misconduct.
It further claims that the administration "knew or should have known about the subject pattern of abuse and should have prevented or stopped it," and that it "allowed for these violent and deviant incidents to occur on a regular and repeating basis, despite having notice of their occurrence."
"Each instance of [Morales'] sexual misconduct and inappropriate physical contact with [the teen] constitutes battery," the student's mother's complaint says. As a result, the complaint contends the student "suffered... severe injuries and damages... including but not limited to, mental and emotional distress." The lawsuit seeks damages to be determined in court.
District Superintendent Sends Letter to Parents Over the Sexual Misconduct Allegations Against Morales
On March 20, Cohoes City School District Superintendent Peggy O'Shea sent a letter to parents regarding allegations of "inappropriate conduct" by the aide.
"Upon becoming aware of these allegations, administration immediately contacted the Cohoes Police Department," O'Shea wrote. "Since that time the District has been fully cooperating with law enforcement." Due to the ongoing investigation, O'Shea said she was unable to share further details at the time.

US authorities arrest Mexican immigrant who allegedly threatened to shoot Trump

WASHINGTON - U.S. immigration authorities arrested a Mexican immigrant who allegedly threatened to shoot President Donald Trump, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said on Wednesday. The man, Ramon Morales Reyes, 54, allegedly sent a letter to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer stating that he would "shoot your precious president in [his] head" at one of his rallies, according to DHS, which published an image of the letter. Morales said in the letter that ICE had been deporting his family members although he did not mention anyone specifically. "We are tired of this president messing with us Mexicans - we have done more for this country than you white people," the letter reads. Trump was targeted in two assassination attempts during his 2024 presidential campaign, including a shooting a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The suspects in both of those attempts were U.S. citizens. "All politicians and members of the media should take notice of these repeated attempts on President Trump's life and tone down their rhetoric," Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement. Morales entered the U.S. illegally at least nine times from 1998-2005, according to DHS. He had previous arrests for a felony hit-and-run and other crimes, DHS said. He is currently being held by ICE in Wisconsin and awaiting deportation, DHS said. REUTERS Join ST's Telegram channel and get the latest breaking news delivered to you.

Two from search group that uncovered Mexico's 'ranch of horror' killed

REUTERS/Ivan Arias/File Photo Two from search group that uncovered Mexico's 'ranch of horror' killed MEXICO CITY - Gunmen on a motorcycle shot and killed two members of a civil search organization that discovered a now-infamous site known as Mexico's "ranch of horror," the group and authorities said on Thursday. The two victims, Carmen Morales and her son Jaime Ramirez, died after they were shot by two men on Wednesday night, the Jalisco state prosecutor's office said in a statement. The suspects have not been identified. Morales and Ramirez were members of the citizen search group Guerreros Buscadores, in the western state of Jalisco, which was instrumental in the discovery of what local media dubbed the "ranch of horror" in March. Searchers found hundreds of items of clothing and skeletal remains at the site in Teuchitlan, a rural area outside Guadalajara, the state capital. Officials have said the site was a cartel training camp. "Unfortunately, (Morales) had already been threatened several times. ... It's sad and painful that these things are happening. All we families want is to find our loved ones," said Raul Servin, a representative for the group. The Jalisco state prosecutor's office, however, ruled out a connection to the search group in its statement. Morales and Ramirez had been searching for a relative who disappeared in February 2024. Their deaths follow the killing of another member of the search group. Teresa Gonzalez, who had been searching for her missing brother, was killed earlier this month, according to the group. Members of search groups for missing family members often receive threats, which rights groups allege largely come from the criminal groups responsible for their disappearances. Jalisco is one of the states with the highest number of reported missing persons, according to official data. It is the home base of the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), which authorities have accused of forcibly recruiting young people. More than 124,000 people are missing in Mexico, according to government data. Most cases are never solved, breeding a deep mistrust of authorities among those searching for the missing.
