Bengaluru doctor offloaded for ‘threatening to crash' Air India flight
The Bengaluru police have booked a city-based doctor for allegedly misbehaving with cabin crew on board an Air India flight bound for Surat, Gujarat, and threatening to crash the plane.
According to the police, Dr Vyas Hiral Mohanbhai, 36, hailing from Yelahanka, was offloaded from the flight after the incident that took place around 2.45 pm on Tuesday. After boarding the plane, Mohanbhai dropped her bag in the front row and demanded crew members carry it to her seat, 20 F, when questioned about the bag's placement.
The situation escalated when she allegedly shouted threats about 'crashing the plane', prompting the cabin crew to alert the pilot. Despite the pilot's intervention, Dr Mohanbhai refused to calm down, leading to her removal from the aircraft before its departure, according to the police.
The Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) police have booked Dr Mohanbhai under sections 351 (4) (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) and 353 (1)(b) (statements of public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as well as section 3(1)(a) (act of violence against a person on board an aircraft in flight which is likely to endanger the safety of such aircraft) of the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Safety of Civil Aviation Act.
In another incident that took place on Tuesday, Sadaad Mohammad Baba, 22, from Srinagar, allegedly attempted to forcibly enter departure gate 8 at Bengaluru airport's Terminal 1. When CISF personnel tried to prevent his unauthorised entry, Baba allegedly shoved the security staff.
The police have booked Baba under BNS sections 132 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 221 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), and 329 (2) (criminal trespass).

The incident took place between 2.45pm and 5.30pm, according to a complaint filed by Agnimitra Bahinipati, associate manager of security at Kempegowda International Airport, with the KIA police. Police said Mohanbhai did not stop there. Once taken to the KIA police station, she continued to abuse and manhandle police officers, creating further disturbance. "This was the first time we heard such abusive language in the station," a senior officer claimed. Mohanbhai was arrested and booked under section 3A of the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against Safety of Civil Aviation Act, 1982, which carries a punishment of life imprisonment and sections 351 (criminal intimidation) and 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Six held for over Rs 38 lakh fraud in rural job scheme using fake muster rolls
Lucknow: The Balrampur police arrested six individuals for embezzling Rs38.49 lakh from the Mahatma Gandhi national rural employment guarantee scheme (MGNREGS) funds. The arrests were made in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds allocated for the renovation of three ponds in Bishunpur Tantanwa village under Pachpedwa block. Police said the sanctioned amount for the project was Rs58.34 lakh. The accused allegedly forged muster rolls in the names of workers to siphon off the funds, without executing the work as per official norms. SP Vikas Kumar supervised the probe, leading to the arrests. Those arrested were Abdul Wahab, Mohd Zuber Khan, Girija Shankar, Atul Kumar Mishra (son of Ram Prakash Mishra, additional programme officer), Pradeep Kumar Chaudhary (son of Ramchandra, junior engineer) and Ajay Yadav (son of Gulab Chandra Yadav, gram vikas adhikari, resident of Belhar, Sahjanwa, Gorakhpur). 4 held for gangrape, murder of minor tribal girl in Odisha's Keonjhar district

The next day, villagers found the 17-year-old girl, who had gone missing after leaving her home to relieve herself, hanging from a tree, following which her family alleged that she was gang-raped and killed, police said. Bloodstained clothes and other items were recovered from the spot where her body was found hanging, officials said. The girl's father in his FIR had alleged that his daughter was gang-raped, killed and subsequently hanged to make it appear as suicide. Though police had detained two persons on suspicion on Wednesday, later based on preliminary investigation four people were arrested 'We are investigating the incident from all angles.
