Pop star Joe Jonas confesses to being 'chronically online'

Perth Now25-04-2025

Joe Jonas is "chronically online".
The 35-year-old pop star recently performed his new single, 'Heart by Heart', for a phone-free crowd in New York City, and Joe actually relished the experience.
He told People: "It's been a while - actually, the last time I performed with no phones, I honestly couldn't tell you.
"I went to the Masters this year, and you can't bring your phone, so that was nice. And I think, once you're away from your phone for even a few hours, you're panicked sometimes - at least I am. And then you get back, and you're like, 'Okay, I'm fine, the world is still revolving, everyone was fine.'"
Joe acknowledges that he spends an unhealthy amount of time online. However, he also relishes disconnecting himself from the outside world from time to time.
The Jonas Brothers star said: "I'm at fault of becoming somebody that's just in a death scroll ... This is a nice reminder to just be present with your friends and family. You can shut your phone off for a few hours and hang out."
Meanwhile, Joe previously admitted that he's been "reliving" his childhood through his children.
The chart-topping star - who has daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two, with his ex-wife Sophie Turner - revealed that he's relishing the challenges of fatherhood, describing it as the "best feeling".
Speaking at a Miami Art Week event called The Wellness Oasis, Joe shared: "As a parent myself, I'm also reliving childhood again through my kids' eyes which is just the best feeling."
Joe is making a concerted effort to have "a lot of fun" as a parent.
The 'Cake by the Ocean' hitmaker - who was married to Sophie between 2019 and 2024 - explained: "I'm really making sure that I'm able to have a lot of fun.
"This is so amazing that we get the opportunity to be on this earth and do what we get to do. Whether it's enjoying your career, or hopefully on your way to enjoy your career, and you've got great friends and great people around you, I think really being able to tap into, hypothetically, what little Joe would really be into is having fun with whatever it is."

Patrick Schwarzenegger bombarded with cash from fans while they watched him on ‘White Lotus'

Patrick Schwarzenegger was bombarded with money from fans while they watched him on 'White Lotus'. The 31-year-old actor made the revelation during an interview with People, where he sat down with his former co-star on the show, Aimee Lou Wood, to promote their new partnership with Venmo, ahead of the launch of the brand's debit card and expanded checkout features. He said: 'I don't know if this ever happened to you, Aimee – I sent it in our group text from 'White Lotus' – but I have people that sent me money on Venmo during episodes of 'White Lotus'. 'It was really strange.' He added: 'I sent it all back, don't worry. But I did. I got a lot of people that sent me money.' Aimee, 31, said she hadn't experienced anything quite like that – though her own memories of filming involved a rather expensive coconut habit while on location in Thailand. 'It was chronic,' she said, adding: 'I could not stop with the coconuts. I just absolutely loved them! I was so hydrated. I think I was overly hydrated, actually.' The pair spent seven months filming the hit HBO series last summer, and said their new work with Venmo came at the perfect time – days after they had been discussing the possibility of collaborating again. 'We immediately texted each other,' Patrick said. He added: 'We were both so excited to be able to work with Venmo, but also get to work with each other once again. And then Venmo had these different ideas of doing this amazing commercial and video and dancing to this song of 'You Can Venmo This' and 'You Can Venmo That.' 'The whole experience was just really fun and put us in a fun situation to get to dance with each other.' Aimee agreed, and reflected on the intense bond formed during the extended production, admitting to feeling 'separation anxiety' after filming wrapped. She said: 'Seven months all of us together, in the same place, and then I went back to England and it was so lonely.' Patrick added he and Aimee have remained close, spending significant time together in recent weeks. He said: 'Aimee and I worked in L.A. together, and then we both flew to New York and we worked on the same shoot in New York, and then the next day we got to do the Met Ball together. 'Then the next day we both flew to London for a week and worked together, and then I stayed for a couple of days and had some extra days off and we got to hang.'

Ashley Tisdale reveals her long running Phineas and Ferb behind the scenes rule

Ashley Tisdale refuses to do more than "two-hour sessions" for 'Phineas and Ferb'. The 39-year-old actress - who has voiced Phineas' sister Candance since the pilot episode in 2007 - is back for the beloved animated comedy show's revival a decade after the 'Last Day of Summer' finale aired, and she has reflected on the challenges of recording the voiceovers. She told PEOPLE magazine: "That's always been kind of more of my challenge with Candace, is when she starts to kind of build into that episode and she's really high-strung, and it takes a lot out of me. "So, I only do two-hour sessions. But I've been doing only two-hour sessions from the very beginning. "I recognised very soon into Candace that I was like, 'Oh, I cannot do three hours or four hours.' It's a lot!" Ashley - who admitted as she's "gotten older, it's like a workout" - insisted it doesn't feel like 'Phineas and Ferb' has really been away for the last decade. She explained: "I feel like it never ended because we kept on doing 'Candace Against the Universe' [for Disney+ in 2020] and little things here and there. "So, I guess I was sad when we were done with the show, but I never expected to come back, and it's pretty awesome. "I love it. We have so much fun doing it." Meanwhile, Ashley recently admitted she hopes her daughter Jupiter, four, takes inspiration from her 'High School Musical' character Sharpay Evans. The actress - who also has Emerson, eight months, with her husband Christopher French - told People: "I just think that Sharpay is someone who knows what she wants and I think that's always been really exciting. "I love playing a character like that because I've always known what I wanted. So I feel like that is something to look up to." Ashley loves that her daughter has already developed a passion for movies. The actress shared: "I never thought I'd see the day. But, you know, she's obsessed with tons of movies. This is not the first one she's obsessed with." Ashley revealed that Jupiter is a big fan of the 'Wicked' and 'Tarzan' movies. She said: "She was Glinda from 'Wicked' for the longest time. So she does love the pink, but she also loves 'Tarzan'. So I don't know. It changes."

James Blunt is 'happy' being a 'one-hit wonder'

James Blunt insists being a "one-hit wonder" is "healthy" for his ego. The 'You're Beautiful' hitmaker became an overnight star following the release of the 2005 single from his debut album 'Back To Bedlam', and the 51-year-old pop veteran admits he is "happy" to be called a "one-hit wonder" as it means he doesn't get too big for his boots. He told US publication PEOPLE: 'In the States, I am [a one-hit wonder]. You have to understand — I am so happy with that because, as I put on my social media profiles, one hit is all you need. 'I've been called a one-hit wonder by people who are none-hit wonders. And so I'm thrilled with that.' Blunt continued: 'The moment I think I might be a big shot in any way, you, as an American, can tell me, 'No. You're just a little one-hit wonder, James. Get back in your box.' And that's healthy." The 'Goodbye My Lover' singer also recalled how he was rejected by all the UK record labels because of his posh speaking voice and classism in his homeland. On being signed to Linda Perry's Custard Records, he said: 'I hadn't really understood how this was the very last chance I was probably ever going to have. 'I'd been rejected by every UK label based on my speaking voice and the kind of class issues that we have here, and the basis that they would think that just no one would relate to me. They might've been right to a degree. It's taken a long time after 'You're Beautiful' and the backlash for the public to know that, 'Okay. I might speak with a stupid voice, but I am a normal, grounded human being.' So maybe the UK labels were right. [But] for some reason Linda was there. She came in with a hard sell, and we went out that night and got drunk.' Although the song was a huge hit, he did face - and continues to face - his fair share of criticism and is known to hilariously retaliate on social media. He said: 'I think I've always been silly. 'I think I probably did set out in interviews when we were talking about music because it was the one thing I was serious about. "I probably then spoke quite earnestly in my interviews about the music, and now I've learned that that's probably not the best thing to do. So now, I still take my music seriously. I don't speak earnestly about it.'
