Eritrea: International Workers Day Celebration in Northern Red Sea (NRS)
Mr. Habtemariam Tesfamicael, head of the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers branch in the region, said that May Day is a day when workers raise their voices and renew their pledge to work hard and increase productivity. He also gave a briefing on the historical struggle of Eritrean workers.
The branch office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the office of the PFDJ also delivered messages of solidarity.
Ms. Asmeret Abraha, Governor of the region, highlighted the significant role Eritrean workers played during the armed struggle for independence, in safeguarding national sovereignty, and in the implementation of national development programs. She also called for strengthening unity and awareness, and for citizens to play their part in national affairs.
International Workers Day was also celebrated across the country, featuring various activities.

National Eritrean Festival 2025 Commences
The National Eritrean Festival 2025 was officially opened this morning by President Isaias Afwerki at the Expo Grounds. The opening ceremony, which featured colorful traditional dances and songs from the country's various ethnic groups, was attended by Ministers, senior Government and People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and numerous nationals from inside the country and abroad. President Isaias, accompanied by senior officials, toured the regional villages that showcase the traditions and living standards of each ethnic group, as well as innovations, creative works, and products of various enterprises. He was provided with briefings by experts at the respective displays. The President also visited pavilions highlighting the status and expansion of social services, exhibitions of agricultural products, natural and cultural resources, the rich biodiversity of the Red Sea, as well as historical and ancient heritage sites. Photo and sculpture exhibitions organized by the Ministry of Defense and individual artists, displays depicting the activities of the Crops and Livestock Corporation, a book fair, paintings, and other exhibitions are among the highlights of the annual national festival. The festival will remain open until 17 August, featuring traditional music and dances, children's programs, locally produced films, bazaars, seminars, and other activities. Public Seminar for Eritreans in Germany and Kuwait
Seminars organized by the Eritrean national committees in Kassel and Munich focusing on enhancing awareness on national issues and consular services were conducted on 13 and 21 July. At the seminars, Mr. Teame Haile, Head of Public and Community Affairs, provided a detailed briefing on the sovereignty and legitimacy of Eritrea. He stated that Eritrea possesses clear and internationally recognized land, air, and sea borders that will never be compromised. He also called on nationals to strengthen their unity and active participation in national affairs. Mr. Kibreab Tekeste, Eritrea's Consul General in Germany, gave an extensive briefing on the objectives and procedures of consular services and called on nationals to fully understand and adhere to the guidelines and regulations. A similar seminar was also conducted for nationals in the city of Wetter in Germany. At the seminar, Mr. Fitsum Sahle, coordinator of the national committee, and Mr. Medhanie Tesf'alem, member of the Promotion and Information Committee, gave briefings on the Afambo Boarding School project as well as on the progress of education in Eritrea. In related news, Mr. Humed Yahya, Chargé d'Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy in Kuwait, conducted a seminar for nationals on the current situation in the homeland, as well as regional and global developments. At the seminar, Mr. Humed provided an extensive briefing on the progress of national development programs and the active participation of nationals both inside the country and abroad. Eritrea: Training on Social Science in Gash Barka
The office of the PFDJ in the Gash Barka Region has provided training on social science to youth workers in the region. The training was conducted from 23 June to 2 July in Barentu. The objective of the training was to enhance the productivity and overall awareness of the youth working in PFDJ and Government institutions. The training was attended by 139 participants, including 68 females, composed of youth Government workers and PFDJ organizations. Mr. Ahmed Tahir, Head of Political Affairs of the PFDJ in the region, stated that the training covered the basic concepts of politics, the significance and necessity of organization, the history of the Eritrean people from ancient times to independence, the National Charter, organizational framework and transitional law, nation and nationalism, religious radicalism and its consequences, as well as the role of youth in resilience and development. Indicating that this was the first training of its kind organized at the regional level, Ambassador Mahmud Ali Jabra, Secretary of the PFDJ in the region, said that it would make a significant contribution to strengthening political and organizational activities. At the event, Brig. Gen. Eyob Fesehaye (Halibai), Commander of the Eastern Command of the Eritrean Defense Forces, delivered a seminar focusing on the role of cadres in the political and armed struggle of the Eritrean people, as well as on the current situation in the homeland. Brig. Gen. Eyob also called on the youth to develop their overall understanding and awareness and to strengthen their contribution and participation in national affairs.
