Chris Brown Arrested in England for Allegedly Smashing Tequila Bottle on Producer's Head
The post Chris Brown Arrested in England for Allegedly Smashing Tequila Bottle on Producer's Head appeared first on Consequence.
Chris Brown was taken into custody in Manchester, England, on Thursday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. The arrest stems from a 2023 incident at a London nightclub in which the R&B singer allegedly struck music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle, according to The Sun.
Diaw previously filed a lawsuit against Brown, claiming the singer 'beat[sic] him over the head' with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila, then proceeded to 'ruthlessly stomp' on him. As a result, Diaw says he 'suffered severe and lasting injuries,' including lacerations on his head and torn ligaments in his leg.

Is Saquon Barkley worried about the Madden cover curse? He says it's ‘in God's hands'
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley smiles after Super Bowl 59 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, in New Orleans. | Frank Franklin II Saquon Barkley wasn't going to turn down the chance to be the Madden NFL 26 cover star. When he got the invite, he stayed focused on how many people would love to be in his shoes — not the so-called 'Madden curse.' Advertisement 'I know so many people, so many kids that ... would love to be in the position I'm in right now,' the Philadelphia Eagles running back told NFL Network on Monday. Barkley went on to explain that he believes in God, not curses. 'I've had injuries before. I tore my knee, I stepped on a foot and rolled my ankle and was out 4-to-6 weeks, and there was no curse then,' he said. 'That's just how life works. You're gonna have your ups and downs, but my mindset is coming in, work, do what I need to do, and the rest is in God's hands.' The Madden curse Barkley was asked about the Madden curse because it's become a major talking point in conversations about the popular video game. Advertisement Some fans believe the athlete featured on the cover is doomed to perform poorly in the future, whether because of a significant injury or some other factor. 'Numerous stars to grace the Madden cover have (dealt) with injury issues,' per USA Today. 'That includes Madden 25 cover athlete Christian McCaffrey, who was limited to four games in 2024 because of Achilles tendonitis and a PCL sprain in his knee." The article noted that rumors of a Madden curse have circulated for more than two decades. The 1999 cover star, San Francisco 49ers running back Garrison Hearst, is widely believed to be the first victim, since his 1998-99 season was disrupted by a gruesome ankle injury. Advertisement 'Complications from the injury — including avascular necrosis, which caused a bone in his injured foot to die — kept him out of the league for two seasons before he returned to play for the 49ers in 2001," USA Today reported. This combo of images provided by EA Sports shows Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley on the cover of EA Sports' Madden 26 deluxe edition, left, and standard edition. | EA Sports via Associated Press Saquon Barkley on Madden cover Even if he's right about the Madden curse, Barkley may regress in the upcoming NFL season simply because his 2024-25 season would be hard to exceed. Barkley rushed for more than 2,000 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. He was named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year just before he and his Eagles teammates won the Super Bowl. For the Madden NFL 26 cover, Barkley recreated his iconic reverse hurdle from a Nov. 3 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Advertisement He told NFL Network that the photo shoot for Madden made him 'realize how special (that play) was.' 'When we had to recreate it, I was like, 'I don't know if I feel comfortable doing this not in the midst of a game,'' he said. Barkley and the Madden team ultimately decided to use a harness for the photo shoot, he explained.

Search Initiated for Madeleine McCann After Almost Two Decades
Authorities in Europe have restarted a search for a missing toddler, nearly 20 years after her initial disappearance. Several German agents filed into the Algarve in southern Portugal on Tuesday, searching for British toddler Madeleine McCann. McCann and her family visited Portugal back in 2007. As her parents ate a meal nearby, the three-year old Madeleine vanished and has not been seen since. Police did not disclose why they began the search again, but they gathered around a residence owned by the only suspect in the case. The man, also from Germany, is currently serving time for rape and sexual assault charges unrelated to the McCann case. Teams looked through undergrowth in the area and an abandoned building, attempting to connect the man - named Christian Brueckner - to evidence that would implicate him in the child's disappearance. According to The Sun, the team of around 25 German investigators are equipped with ground radar technology that will allow them to see up to 12 feet beneath them. Brueckner's cottage included several wells and ditches beneath the surface, and the team is looking to exhaust all options. Brueckner has yet to be charged in connection to McCann's disappearance, but German authorities noted their belief in his involvement in 2020. "We opened a murder investigation against the 43-year old German national, therefore you can conclude that we assume the girl is dead," said a spokesperson for the Braunschweig prosecutor's office. That investigation was the first major update in the incident since it was initially considered a missing persons case in Britain. Brueckner has a string of previous arrests and convictions for sexual offense, theft and assault. He reportedly burglarized hotel rooms and holiday rentals like the one the McCann family were staying in back in 2007. At the time of Madeleine's disappearance, Brueckner was living alone in a camper van. Madeleine's parents released a statement on May 3, marking 18 years since their daughter's disappearance. "The years appear to be passing even more quickly and whilst we have no significant news to share, our determination to 'leave no stone unturned' is unwavering," Kate and Gerry McCann said on "We will do our utmost to achieve this."
