Mahesh Goud launches Manmohan Singh Fellowship programme
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday officially launched the Dr Manmohan Singh Fellowship Programme at Gandhi Bhavan in the city.
Mahesh Kumar Goud underscored the importance of involving intellectuals and professionals in politics. He encouraged the youth to actively contribute to public life and policy-making and emphasised that politics needs the ideas, skills, and vision of the younger generation.
The initiative, spearheaded by the All-India Professionals' Congress (AIPC), aims to bridge professional talent with policymaking and governance in Telangana. The event saw active participation from the AIPC Telangana leadership, including Irfan Aziz, Navika Harshe, Dr Aditya Reddy, Sandeep Bhushan, Maria, Santosh Y, Raghav, and Ranadheer. These leaders are set to oversee various verticals under the newly launched fellowship programme.
The Dr Manmohan Singh Fellowship Programme is designed to engage young professionals and thought leaders in public policy, governance, and social development in line with Congress Party's democratic and inclusive values.
It reflects the party's resolve to foster intellectual discourse and contribute to nation-building by nurturing the next generation of political professionals.

TPCC chief slams KCR, Kishan over alleged BRS-BJP nexus
Hyderabad: TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday alleged that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's family was fighting for money and the BRS party was on the brink of collapse anytime. Missing Komatireddy and Vivek families in PAC sparks buzz in Cong over cabinet berths
1 2 Hyderabad: Two missing names – Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy and G Vivek Venkatswamy – in the all-important political affairs committee (PAC) of the state Congress announced on Thursday has created a buzz in party circles about the high command's plans for the two politically important families. The talk in party is that the Komatireddy and Vivek's families may get representation in either the cabinet expansion or the working presidents' posts. That's something other aspirants are keen on stopping. These competing aspirants have sent letters to the leadership in Delhi, stating that Venkat Reddy is already a minister and another cabinet berth for his younger brother Rajgopal should not be allowed. They also pointed out that three tickets were given to Vivek's family, including two MLA and one MP ticket – all three were won by them. But both Rajgopal and Vivek have maintained that without them the Congress would not have managed the slender margin with 64 seats in the assembly. The two were also reportedly promised cabinet berths on their return to the Congress before assembly polls. On Friday, the meeting of TPCC top guns with Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge was cancelled. TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud said that another date would be fixed and maintained that they were expecting the cabinet expansion soon. "We followed social justice by giving representation to all castes and communities in the five committees announced on Thursday. District representation was also taken into consideration. It was ensured that veterans and young blood were given opportunities. The composition of the new TPCC team comprising working presidents, vice-presidents and general secretaries will see maximum representation from SCs, STs, and BCs. I have personally urged the party high command to give more berths in the cabinet to BCs," Mahesh Goud said. In response to media queries over the missing names in the five committees, Mahesh Goud said that all the ministers are special invitees to the PAC meeting. "We could not have named all the ministers in the PAC, but they can attend the PAC meeting as special invitees," he said. A senior AICC leader said the party high command is likely to announce four working presidents and several vice presidents without any more consultation with the TPCC as all the details have already been submitted by the state leadership. However, there is no clarity on the cabinet expansion date.

TPCC plans public meeting to highlight caste survey success
HYDERABAD: The BC leaders of Congress, including TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Environment & Forests Minister Konda Surekha, along with several other MLAs and corporation chairpersons, attended a session on nationwide caste census organised by the AICC in Delhi on Monday. Ponnam Prabhakar made a PowerPoint presentation on how the party promised and conducted the caste census. Speaking to TNIE from the capital, TPCC chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud said that the party is planning to hold a massive public meeting to highlight the success of the caste census. 'We will be inviting top AICC leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge for the meeting,' he said. He added that the Union government heeded the demand of caste enumeration, along with Census 2025, only after Rahul highlighted the issue during his Bharat Jodo Yatra. Meanwhile, Ponnam, addressing the media, said that Rahul's slogan 'jitni abadi, utna haq' (rights proportional to population) will soon become a reality in Telangana.
