Joey King in Talks to Star in "Practical Magic 2"
Yara Sameh
Joey King is in negotiations to star in 'Practical Magic 2' alongside Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
If the deal closes, King will play the daughter of Bullock's character. Bullock and Kidman are reprising their roles as Sally and Gillian Owens, two sisters who descend from a long line of witches.
In the original 1998 movie, the duo finds themselves fighting off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with.
While plot details for the second film haven't been revealed, sources say the story is based on a later installment in Alice Hoffman's 'Practical Magic' book series.
Susanne Bier is directing 'Practical Magic 2' from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the first film. It's aiming to start production in London later this summer. Warner Bros. will release the witchy sequel in theaters on September 18, 2026.
In a recent conversation with
Variety
, Kidman said that she's seen the script but doesn't expect to begin filming 'for a while.' But what's a few more weeks or months, at this point? The Oscar-winning actress revealed she's been waiting nearly 30 years for the follow-up to 'Practical Magic.'
'When we were making it, we definitely [thought about a sequel],' she said. 'We're so excited. We put out our spell already.'
Kidman's referring to the
teaser
that Warner Bros. released earlier in May. The clip featured a voiceover from Bullock and Kidman, who chant the following incantation: 'Tooth of wolf and morning dew. Something old and something new. Let the spell begin to mix. Sept. 18, 2026.'
King is best known for Netflix's 'The Kissing Booth' franchise, as well as Hulu's true-crime series 'The Act,' which earned her an Emmy nomination.
The 25-year-old actress' other major credits include 'Despicable Me 4,' David Leitch's action-comedy 'Bullet Train,' Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises,' and 'Crazy Stupid Love.'

Jessie J Reveals Early Breast Cancer Diagnosis: "I Am Going to Disappear for a Bit"
Yara Sameh British singer-songwriter Jessica Ellen Cornish, aka Jessie J, has revealed that she had been recently diagnosed with 'early breast cancer.' The musician shared the health update on Instagram on Tuesday, telling her followers that the diagnosis came shortly before the release of her track 'No Secrets' in April. 'Before 'No Secrets' came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,' she said. 'I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding on to the word early.' As she continued, she revealed that she has been 'in and out of tests' since the release of the track and wanted to share the video in an attempt to be 'open' about her journey with her supporters. 'I just wanted to be open and share it because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough,' she added. 'I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories. I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much. Similar and worse.' She continued, 'I'm getting to keep my nipples, that's good. It's a weird topic and a weird situation. And I know the press are going to say crazy stuff but you know what, to get diagnosed with this as I'm putting out a song called 'No Secrets' right before a song called 'Living My Best Life,' which was all pre-planned before I found out about this, I mean you can't make it up.' In closing her video to fans, Jessie J explained that she will 'disappear for a bit' to undergo surgery following her performance at the Summertime Ball in England on June 15. Celebrity friends and fans online were quick to extend their get-well-soon wishes to Jessie. "You're literally my favorite person and I'm praying for you. You've got this. My mother had it and I know the surgery and any treatment on this matter is mentally tough so I'm here for you," Rita Ora commented. "Open book and open heart, we love you and support you always, sending you the best energy for a soon recovery ❤️ warrior," one fan wrote. Jessie J's decision to be open and honest with her health journey aligns with her comments from July, in which she revealed a recent diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive behavior (OCD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity (ADHD). 'It's empowered me and honestly sometimes has overwhelmed me all at the same time,' she explained, noting that the information had made her think about her life in a whole new way. 'If there is one thing social media has given me, it's the chance to relate, connect, and heal with strangers that have kind hearts and are going through a similar thing. I have always been honest in the journey I'm going through in life.' Some of the Grammy-nominated artist's other tracks include 'Together Till Infinity,' 'Heaven Bound,' 'I Want Love,' and 'Brave.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan

Ryan Reynolds' "Animal Friends" Delayed to 2026
Yara Sameh Ryan Reynolds fans will have to wait a little longer to meet Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Entertainment's 'Animal Friends,' as the upcoming movie is getting pushed back to next year. The project, which the Burbank, CA lot inherited from Sony, was moved from its scheduled October 10 theatrical release to May 1, 2026. It was previously dated for August 15 under Sony. When it moved to Warner Bros., the release date shifted to October 10. Despite the move, there's obvious box office potential at play: for starters, Reynolds most recently starred in Marvel's 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' which grossed $1.3 billion at the international box office, while Momoa's 'A Minecraft Movie' has grossed $948 million worldwide to date. Directed by Peter Atencio and written by Kevin Burrows & Matt Mider, 'Animal Friends' stars Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Addison Rae, Dan Levy, Lil Rel Howery, and Ellie Bamber in a 'live-action hybrid road trip adventure.' The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. and Legendary, and was produced by Legendary, Reynolds' Maximum Effort, and Prime Focus Pictures. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan
