CM Nayab Singh Saini leads Gurgaon Run, promotes ‘1 nation, 1 election'
Gurgaon: Making an impassioned plea to youths and citizens to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'One nation, one election', Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini led Gurgaon Run on Sunday.
The CM said the initiative — "a national interest agenda" — aims to unify electoral processes to ensure cost savings, effective governance and "uninterrupted development".
Speaking at the Leisure Valley parking area, Saini said, "This is not just a political reform, it's a democratic movement. Simultaneous elections will reduce administrative fatigue, save public resources and allow governance to continue without frequent electoral interruptions."
He urged youths to create awareness in colleges, villages and on digital platforms. Successful public movements such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao originated from Haryana and became a national campaign, Saini said, calling for public participation in promoting the "One nation, one election" concept.
He condemned the Pahalgam terror attack in (Jammu and Kashmir), saying the ongoing Tiranga Yatras across the country reflected India's unity and patriotic strength.
Minister of state for sports Gaurav Gautam said frequent elections disrupt development and exhaust public funds. "The campaign is a step toward a streamlined, focused and stronger India," he said.
Industry minister Rao Narbir Singh, Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary, Gurgaon MLA Mukesh Sharma and city mayor Raj Rani Malhotra attended the event. BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar and state president Mohan Lal Kaushik were also present.

Saini stopped his convoy near Rajiv Chowk to join a group of local youths playing cricket. On his way to the PWD Rest House after Gurgaon Run, Saini stepped onto the field, picked up a bat and played a few shots. He was joined by Rao, Gautam and party state president Mohan Lal Kaushik.

Turkish firm Celebi's arbitration application rejected in India
New Delhi: Celebi Ground Handling India's arbitration application for interim measures against Ahmedabad International Airport over the cancellation of security permits has been dismissed, according to an exchange filing by the Turkish firm's parent company. "The arbitration application filed by our company, Celebi Ground Handling India Pvt Ltd, in which our company owns 61 per cent of the capital, against Adani Ahmedabad International Airport Limited in the Ahmedabad Commercial Court on 27.05.2025, seeking interim measures due to the cancellation of security clearances by the Civil Aviation Security Bureau in relation to its operations at Ahmedabad International Airport, was rejected on 02.06.2025," the company stated. The company said it would appeal to the Supreme Court on the issue. The Indian government has revoked the security clearance for Turkish ground-handling firm Celebi Airport Services at Indian airports, in the wake of Turkey's support to Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attacks and Operation Sindoor launched by India to avenge the killings of 26 tourists. In a notification, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said, 'In the exercise of power conferred upon DG, BCAS, the security clearance in Celebi Airport Services India Pvt Ltd is hereby revoked with immediate effect in the interest of National Security.' The Turkish company handles around 70 per cent of the ground operations at Mumbai airport, including passenger services, load control, flight operations, cargo and postal services, warehouses and bridge operations. Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, also stated that there were requests from across India to ban Celebi NAS Airport Services India Ltd. 'Recognising the seriousness of the issue and the call to protect national interests, we have taken cognizance of these requests and Ministry of Civil Aviation has revoked security clearance of the said company. Ensuring the safety and interests of the nation remains our top priority,' the minister posted. Since its entry in 2008, Celebi has expanded its presence in India's aviation sector. As per reports, the firm is partly owned by Sumeyye Erdogan, daughter of Tayyip Erdogan. Sumeyye Erdogan is married to Selcuk Bayraktar, the man who produces Bayraktar military drones, which Pakistan used against India. This suggests that support to Pakistan is not just a matter of Turkish state policy, but one in which Erdogan's own family is directly involved, according to reports.

"Terrorism a global threat, many attacks linked to Pakistan": Ambassador Sujan Chinoy in Liberia
Monrovia [Liberia], June 3 (ANI): Highlighting the global nature of terrorism, former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy reiterated India's long-standing concerns over cross-border terrorism and stressed Pakistan's role in harbouring terror groups. 'Terrorism is indeed a global threat today. India has long suffered from cross-border terrorism. For a very long time, it was understood that terrorism in South Asia is essentially a problem between India and Pakistan. But post September 11th, 2001, it became very clear to the world that all the terrorist attacks that have taken place have some linkage with Pakistan. It harbours a huge number of terrorist organisations...' Chinoy said. He further underscored India's consistent position, stating, '...For a very long time, it was understood that terrorism in South Asia is a matter between India and Pakistan. But post September 11, 2001, it became clear to the world that all the terrorist attacks that have taken place have some linkage with Pakistan. India has always been talking about it...' Chinoy's remarks came during his address in Monrovia, Liberia, as part of ongoing diplomatic outreach focused on security cooperation and counter-terrorism. Alongside him, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader SS Ahluwalia emphasised that terrorism is a global concern, not just India's problem. 'It is not a matter of concern for India only. Our visionary PM, Narendra Modi, visualises that in isolation, one nation cannot fight or finish this monster. Today, if it is eliminated in India, then tomorrow, it will appear in another country, because their (Pakistan's) economy runs on this, and they extract money out of it. BJP's Dilip Ghosh slams Digvijaya Singh over 'Operation Sindoor' remarks, questions Congress' stand on terror attacks
North 24 Parganas (West Bengal) [India], June 3 (ANI): BJP leader Dilip Ghosh strongly criticised Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday over his remarks on Operation Sindoor, and questioned the Congress-led governments' actions during terror attacks under former Prime Ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh. Speaking to reporters, Ghosh said, 'What was the reaction of the Congress government when Pakistan attacked and shelled during the tenure of former Prime Ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh?' Ghosh also took a dig at Digvijaya Singh's past conduct, accusing him of sympathising with terrorists. He alleged that Singh had chosen to ignore the sacrifice of police officer Mohan Sharma, who was killed during an anti-terror operation. 'Digvijaya Singh did not meet the family of police officer Mohan Sharma, killed by terrorists. But he met the family of a terrorist and apologised,' Ghosh said. He further questioned the moral authority of the Congress leader to speak on matters related to national security, asking, 'What will those who support terrorists instead of courageous police officers teach us? His remark came after Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday criticised External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar over his recent statement about 'Operation Sindoor', suggesting that the government may have informed Pakistan in advance about targeting terrorist camps. Speaking to ANI, Singh said, 'S Jaishankar is a highly experienced diplomat. His father was a renowned figure and a respected defence analyst. But now, his own statement suggests that they informed them (Pakistan) in advance that they would be targeting terrorist camps. If you've already told the enemy that you're coming to attack, naturally, they will vacate the area. When you warn your enemy beforehand, they will obviously be prepared.' Earlier, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, also raised questions regarding the operation. He shared a video on the social media platform X, where Jaishankar is seen speaking to reporters following the inauguration of the Honduras Embassy in Delhi. Gandhi accused the government of serious lapses. In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, 'Informing Pakistan at the start of our attack was a crime. EAM has publicly admitted that GOI did it. 1. Who authorised it? 2. How many aircraft did our air force lose as a result?' (ANI)
