Navjot Singh Sidhu says he put one condition regarding Archana Puran Singh before returning to Kapil Sharma's show: ‘How can I be the reason of…'

Netizens were delighted after Netflix announced that the third season of The Great Indian Kapil Show will mark the comeback of former cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu. This will mark his return as the permanent guest of the show after nearly six years. Ahead of his comeback, Navjot Singh Sidhu shared a vlog on his YouTube channel claiming how he played a key role in helping Kapil Sharma have his independent show about 13 years ago.
Speaking to his viewers, Navjot Singh Sidhu recalled the days when he judged the show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge which became the origin of talents like Kapil Sharma and Bharti Singh. He said, 'Kapil Sharma rose to fame after he appeared in the show Laughter Challenge. Later, he was exploited in Comedy Circus, he didn't have an identity of his own.'
He added, 'After my Bigg Boss stint, Kapil Sharma came to me and said, 'Paaji, I have a request. If you will agree to be part of my show, they will give me an independent show.' I was like who, 'He said Raj Nayak sahab'. Raj Nayak was the head of Colors back then. He wanted me to be the judge of the show. He wanted me as he wanted to increase the channel's TRP. We met over breakfast and I agreed to do it.'
Sidhu shared that he actively took part in suggesting ideas to Kapil for his independent show and took credit in making it a huge success. 'I suggested Kapil Sharma to work on the show's format and how he should present it. When I came, we didn't have any guest. I suggested him to bring Dharmendra on show, and he did. When he came and shared rare anecdotes from his life and journey as an actor, it took the show's TRP to another level. I had to leave the show for political reasons. Ever since, people missed me on the show and requested me to be back on the show.'
Sidhu said it was the audience love that has brought his life to full circle with him once again returning to the show.
'On public demand, I made a rare appearance on the show with my wife and the amount of love I received was overwhelming. Now, that I am returning to the show it is like a home run for me. Ghar wapsi.'

In the same vlog, Sidhu also shared how he requested Netflix to keep Archana Puran Singh in the show despite his return. 'When it came to Archana Puran Singh, I just said one thing, 'I am a devotee of Goddess Durga, how can I be the reason for her losing her job?' I requested the makers to keep and her and now we will both appear on the show together. We are finally back together. All of us, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, we are all part of the same engine.'
Two days ago, the makers of The Great Indian Kapil Show took to Netflix's official Instagram handle to share the return of Navjot Singh Sidhu. Sharing a video featuring Kapil Sharma, Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu, the makers wrote, 'Ek kursi paaji ke liye please. Har Funnyvaar Badhega Humara Parivaar with the comeback of Navjot Singh Sidhu & Archana Puran Singh. Watch them in the new season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, streaming from 21st June, at 8 PM only on Netflix.'
The news attracted a lot of attention from fans who expressed their excitement for the return of Navjot Singh Sidhu. The former cricketer resigned the show in 2019 after his comment on the Pulwama attack received severe backlash. The new season of the show will premiere on June 21.

Dil Raju denounces industry practice of buying YouTube views for trailers, songs: ‘Don't want to fake numbers anymore'

Producer Dil Raju attended the trailer launch of his upcoming film Thammudu, starring Nithiin. He opened up about the industry practice of buying YouTube views for trailers and songs, announcing that he's denouncing it. Here's what he said. (Also Read: Allu Aravind backs Pawan Kalyan and questions theatre bandh during HHVM release; Dil Raju claims 'miscommunication') Raju stated at the event that he has directed his PR team not to buy any views on YouTube for Thammudu's trailer or songs. He said, 'I've been meaning to talk about this for a while now, and I must address it today. Whatever views you see on YouTube for this film are original. I've told my PR team and everyone working for me that the numbers must reflect real views. I do not want to fake numbers anymore.' He stated that he's adapting this practice so he knows beforehand, as a producer, how much the audience is really interested in his films. 'I want to know how many views my songs or trailers bring in so I'm prepared for how much reach it'll have upon release. When we're buying views, there's a large number for us to show, but we don't really know if it's reaching the intended audience. Even if it's difficult, I've decided to take the first step in doing this,' explained Raju. When everyone looked shocked at the tangent his speech took, Raju claimed that he wasn't stating anything 'controversial', reasoning that it's the only way producers can 'correct' themselves. 'I am not saying anything controversial. I believe we (producers) will know how to correct ourselves only when we see genuine numbers. If the film is worth it, people will watch it anyway. Look at how Sankranthiki Vasthunam became an all-time record. Court also became a super hit. 2025 has proved that all we need is good content.' In January this year, Raju was called out by the press for releasing a poster for the Ram Charan-starrer Game Changer, claiming it earned over ₹186 crore worldwide on its opening day, when in reality it earned that amount in its lifetime. He defensively said, 'I've already said we (producers) have weaknesses we can't discuss. I admit that, no. Don't you know how much the film has already collected? So you calculate and put out posters for films now.'

Alia Bhatt Shares A Sneak Peek Into Her "2 Days At Cannes"

Alia Bhatt made a spectacular red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. She served not one but four stunning looks. The credit goes to stylist Rhea Kapoor for choosing the mesmerising outfits. Now, the Jigra star has shared glimpses of her two-day extravaganza. The video, posted on YouTube, opens to Alia Bhatt getting ready for Day 1. Her makeup and hair are being done as she sits patiently in the chair. 'We're here at Cannes. Rhea's not looking happy,' Alia sings playfully, teasing Rhea. To this, Rhea replied that she was 'thinking' about how to tie her look together. Alia Bhatt is the brand ambassador of L'Oréal Paris and walked on the Cannes red carpet for the beauty major. 'This is my first time at Cannes and I'm nervously excited,' admits Alia Bhatt. She refuses to have a centre-parted hairstyle, claiming that it doesn't suit her face. Her makeup artist follows the instructions and combs her pin-straight tresses into a side-parted fashion. Blush on her cheeks gave her a rosy glow, her eyebrows are filled and a soft eyeshadow is dabbed - sculpting her face beautifully. Hairspray helped her get-ready to keep Alia's neat bun in place. Then, Alia Bhatt slipped into the ivory-nude Schiaparelli mermaid gown. After a quick photoshoot on the hotel balcony, she arrived at the red carpet. The actress greeted the attendees with a smile, shook hands with some of them and posed with Bridgerton star Simone Ashley. Alia Bhatt's second look was a Giorgio Armani Prive gown. It was picked from the label's spring/summer 2025 collection. The strapless number was a bejewelled wonder and the beaded hair cap was reminiscent of the 1920s flapper style. Alia Bhatt's next two sartorial avatars were from Gucci. She radiated old Hollywood glamour in a sunflower-yellow pencil skirt, a matching corset top and a cropped jacket. The floral headscarf screamed French fashion. Soon after, she switched to a nude-hued monogrammed GG sari, embracing a desi charm.

Netflix unveils In Your Dreams trailer: Release date, voice cast, synopsis and all you need to know

Sometimes, your dreams are all you have. And sometimes they are all you want to run away from. Netflix's upcoming animated film In Your Dreams tries to capture the bizarre middle ground—the one where dreams spiral into chaos, comedy and just enough emotions to make you care. The trailer for In Your Dreams is loud, wild, and full of food… literally. Released by Netflix on Thursday, the teaser kicks off with a pair of siblings finding an old book titled The Legend of the Sandman. From there, it turns into a rollercoaster ride through a candy-coloured dream world, all while Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams plays in the background. Think zombie breakfast food, floating pancakes, or that weird situation where you are suddenly naked in public. Yes, they have put it all in. At the heart of In Your Dreams are Stevie and her brother Elliot. The two are not just trying to survive this surreal dreamland - they are on a mission. If they can push through the madness (which includes a very sarcastic stuffed giraffe and the queen of nightmares herself), the mysterious Sandman has promised them something pretty big: their dream of having a perfect family. From the looks of the trailer, the animation by Kuku Studios is quirky, colourful and a little chaotic. You can feel the energy pop right off the screen. Between doughnut towns and shadowy monsters, the visuals walk a fine line between dream and disaster. Check out the trailer below: The film features a voice cast as diverse as the dreams themselves. Craig Robinson lends his voice to Baloney Tony, the cheeky giraffe with a mind of his own. Simu Liu, Cristin Milioti, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Elias Janssen, Omid Djalili, Gia Carides, SungWon Cho and Zachary Noah Piser round out the cast. The creative team behind the film is just as impressive. In Your Dreams is directed by Alex Woo and co-directed by Erik Benson, from a script the duo wrote together based on a story by Woo and Stanley Moore. It is produced by Timothy Hahn and Gregg Taylor, with music composed by John Debney. Making a movie about dreams isn't new. But actually, finishing one? That's rare. Speaking to Variety during a footage screening and panel discussion at Netflix on June 6, Alex Woo said, 'A dream movie in the animated space has sort of been a white whale. I think every animation studio in the world has had a dream movie in development at some point over the last couple decades, but none of them have ever been made, because I think nobody could figure out how to give a dream movie stakes.' He added, 'I really wanted to make a movie that explores the question of: What do you do when your dreams actually don't come true? How do you find hope? How do you keep moving forward in life?'
