Kohli forced to retire form Tests?
Was the decision to retire from Test cricket forced on Kohli? We may never know what happened behind the scenes but Delhi's Ranji Trophy coach and former Team India selector, Sarandeep, has confirmed that Kohli has no plans to retire at least till February.
In January, Kohli also turned up in a Ranji match for Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium against Railways as he continued to struggle with form.

Sarandeep claimed during their conversation at the time, Kohli confirmed plans to play for India 'A' team in England to prepare for the five-match Test series that starts on 20 June.
'Only he knows the reason (for his retirement). Everyone is shocked,' Sarandeep said.
'There was no sign of it. Neither did I hear from anyone else about this. Look at the way he is performing in the IPL. He is in good form.
'I asked him if he would play a couple of County Cricket matches before the England tour. He said, 'No Paaji, I am looking to play India A matches. Two India A matches where I will prepare for the Test series.' He had a settled plan. Suddenly, seeing him end his red-ball career is surprising. He doesn't have any fitness issues, no form issues,' he said.
Kohli said 'I want to score three or four hundreds in England'
Sarandeep also revealed that Kohli was aiming to hit a few hundreds on the England tour.
'If you look at the Australia tour, Virat is known for his big runs Down Under. He started with a century and didn't get it. He was not satisfied with it,' he said.
'During the Ranji Trophy, he told me, 'I want to score three or four hundreds in England. I have to take responsibility being the senior batter in the team',' Sarandeep added.

Battle for 2 spots among 4 players, serious headache for Gautam Gambhir in England

There is a difficult decision ahead of Team India, as they pick two among four extremely talented all-rounders in the England Tests series. The competition is intense, which mounts pressure on coach Gautam Gambhir. The strategy of the team will be seriously affected by this decision. Shardul Thakur and Nitish Kumar Reddy are fighting over one leading all-rounder pace position. Thakur has the England experience and Reddy has intrigued with his performance in the Australian tour. Their performance in the intra-squad match and English conditions suitability will be the determining factor. In three Tests played in England, Thakur has 122 runs and 8 wickets to his name. He has scored a best of 60 runs and has taken 2/22 as his best bowling figures. This experience places him at a huge advantage of selection. Reddy has no experience of playing in England but scored a century in Australia. His 5 Test matches in Australia picked 298 runs and 5 wickets. The lack of experience is compensated by the hopes about his potential in England after this performance. The spin all-rounder is a position where Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar are fighting. Jadeja has plenty of experience in England (12 Tests, 642 runs, 27 wickets) and is therefore a contender. Talented as he is, Sundar does not have the experience of English conditions. The overall Test record of Sundar is spectacular, 9 Tests, 468 runs (42.54 average), and 25 wickets. His inexperience in English conditions may count however against the proven record of Jadeja. Finally, Gautam Gambhir and Shubman Gill will have to consider experience over potential. Thakur has the experience of playing in England which makes him a probable candidate whereas Jadeja has a long list of records in his name. The playing XI in the end will be an interesting mixture of youth and experience.

"In the two-day practice so far, the conditions suited the fast bowlers. It was testing for the batters which also in a way helps them to prepare for what's to come," said Morkel. "There's been a lot of good banter between bat and ball but I think it's only because the wickets are a lit bit spicy. As soon as the wickets go flat, the bowlers tend to back off."advertisement"I'm going to tell them not to only talk when the wickets are nipping around but when its flat, that's where we're going to need the character at all times."India will face England in the first Test at Headingley, starting from June 20.
