'The Brahma Bull' may retaliate by using his position as a TKO board member to strip Punk of the opportunity. Following this, Ron Killings may step in as a replacement.
The 53-year-old has had his fair share of issues with Cena in recent times. 'The Franchise Player' assaulted and defeated him in a non-title match at Saturday Night's Main Event. Killings got a measure of revenge on Cena at Money in the Bank (June 7) when he cost the soon-to-retire star and Logan Paul their main event match against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. As such, storyline wise he could be the best replacement for Punk if the WWE goes in this direction.
Moreover, this would also allow the promotion to do Punk-Cena at SummerSlam, one of the company's 'big four' Premium Live Events.
