Lahore Qalandars have named Russell Domingo as their new head coach ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, replacing Darren Gough, who stepped down due to personal commitments.
The announcement comes after Karachi Kings also revealed on Friday the appointment of former England all-rounder Ravi Bopara as head coach for the 10th edition of the league.
Domingo, a seasoned coach with vast international experience, previously led South Africa's national team and Bangladesh's men's team.
Known for his tactical expertise and his ability to develop young talent, his appointment fits perfectly with the Qalandars' goal of building a competitive and dynamic squad for the upcoming season.
"I am really excited to be part of the Lahore Qalandars for the 2025 PSL season. I can't wait to get to work, meet the players, and start preparations for what promises to be an exciting campaign. We will have the support of our loyal fans, and I look forward to making them proud," Domingo said in a statement.
The Qalandars will begin their PSL 10 campaign with a high-profile match against Islamabad United on April 11 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
After securing back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023, Lahore is determined to reclaim its dominance and pursue a historic third PSL trophy.

For TV production, PCB signed a two-year deal worth $2.25 million annually. Tenders will be issued for all these agreements, followed by lengthy processes. If the current format continues With the inclusion of two new teams, the number of PSL matches will rise from 34 to 54. In March, Australia will return for three ODIs, and at the end of March and in April, Pakistan is set to tour Bangladesh for two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. Zimbabwe's team is scheduled to tour Pakistan in April-May for three ODIs and three T20Is. To hold the PSL during this window, the PCB will have to reschedule the Zimbabwe series. Sources added that franchises' concerns about scheduling clashes with the IPL have decreased after the 10th edition. However, broadcasters and rights holders still have differing views. Holding PSL alongside IPL in April-May next year is a possibility, but a final decision will be made later.

UK visa issues rule Hosein out of West Indies' T20 opener in England
West Indies' left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein has been ruled out of the opening match of their three-match Twenty20 series against England after he and fellow Trinidadian Jyd Goolie were unable to meet visa requirements.
