Ranbir Kapoor's sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni confirms her Bollywood debut, is shooting with mom Neetu Kapoor
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who belongs to the influential Kapoors of Bollywood, is finally going to follow in the footsteps of her family. She definitely has the right amount of legacy backing her, considering she will be a fourth-generation actor from the Kapoor family. Both her parents, Neetu Kapoor and the late Rishi Kapoor, were stalwarts in their own sense, and her brother, Ranbir Kapoor, is one of the defining actors of this generation.
While the project is completely under wraps, Riddhima did mention a few details about the location of the shoot, saying, 'Yes, I am filming a movie in the hills, and all I can say is that we are shooting here till June.' Her mother Neetu Kapoor's presence during the shooting has also sparked rumours about her being a part of the film. Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma has also been speculated to join the cast alongside the Do Dooni Chaar actor, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. According to Riddhima, her mother is there at the set and is 'enjoying the process thoroughly'.
Riddhima, who is the creative director of her own jewellery brand called 'R Jewellery', shot to fame after her stint on the reality TV show The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. The Netflix show featured Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, Seema Khan and Gauri Khan. Riddhima revealed that she had no plans of starring in movies and said, 'I didn't plan for this. When I was approached, I just said yes. I heard the script and loved it.'
While she has rather big shoes to fill, Riddhima has shared that her family are extremely supportive of this move and are standing with her throughout it all. 'They are so excited. I keep sending them snippets of the scene, and yes, I'm fully supportive – the best part is Mom and I staying together and rehearsing our lines every day. Samara (daughter) is going to visit me once her school breaks for summer holidays.'
Earlier, Neetu Kapoor had opened up on why Riddhima chose to get married and not pursue a career in acting. 'She is a wonderfully talented and beautiful girl. She's a fabulous mimic and would have given any actress a run for her money. But even as a child, she knew how much it would upset her father if she decided to become an actress. He doesn't think badly of actresses or feel that girls shouldn't work in movies. But he's zealously overprotective of his wife and children. Riddhima understood her father well. For the sake of his peace of mind, she never attempted to pursue acting as a career. Instead she said, 'I want to design clothes,' and Bob (Rishi) happily sent her to London to study,' Neetu had shared in Rishi's memoirs Khullam Khulla.

Netflix's Ted Sarandos reflects on India launch, questions timing of Sacred Games: 'The addressable market is growing'
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has admitted he may have misjudged the company's launch strategy in India, saying that releasing Sacred Games as the first Indian original may not have been the ideal starting point. Speaking about Netflix's slower-than-expected growth in the Indian market, Sarandos to Nikhil Kamath on the latter's podcast, 'It took us a couple of years to get the product-market fit right. Our very first Indian original show was Sacred Games. And I thought, 'This is going to be great. People in India love movies. This is a TV show that feels as big as a movie, it has movie stars.'' He went on to reflect on the cultural gap and said, 'What's interesting about it is that it was very, very novel, but what I didn't understand was that we were introducing a brand new kind of entertainment in a country the size of India.' Sarandos admitted that, in hindsight, he might have taken a different approach. 'If I did it all over again, would I have done Sacred Games a couple of years later, and did things that were more populist instead? Maybe.' Despite the challenges, he remains optimistic about the future. 'We knew that India was going to be a slower journey to get to where we wanted to get to. But it's a great prize, at the end of the day. The addressable market is growing in the next couple of years in India, so it's exciting,' he said. 'Sacred Games' follows Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan), a troubled Mumbai police officer who receives a cryptic call from gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), warning him to save the city within 25 days. The series, developed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, was based on Vikram Chandra's novel and became Netflix's first original Indian series. Development began in 2014, after Netflix VP Erik Barmack approached Motwane to create Indian content.
