Kickers, a brand renowned for its high-quality school shoes, is offering a fantastic deal on essentials ahead of the new term. The brand has launched its Back with a Kick back-to-school campaign, offering a 10% discount on first orders and free delivery on orders over £60.
Back with a Kick is being hailed as the brand's most impressive collection yet, featuring styles to suit every student. The range aims to help children stand out for all the right reasons, ensuring they feel confident from their first day back in the playground. Furthermore, the shoes are durable, practical, and stylish.
Within the collection, customers can choose from a variety of shoes, including the Kickers Youth Tovni Lacer Leather shoes, priced at £58 or £52.20 after a 10% discount. These shoes offer a mix of sporty and smart aesthetics, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Available in sizes 3 to 6 for children, these shoes feature a low profile and sleek, flat sole. They are also made from sturdy, high-quality matte leather and are finished with flat cotton laces.
Another stylish choice is the Junior Girls Kick T-Bar Meadow in Patent Leather Black, with a price drop from £58 to £52.20. This pair showcases glossy patent leather adorned with floral buckles in a fetching T-bar design.
Also available is the Junior Girls Adlar MJ Scallop Leather Black shoe, priced at the same reduced rate of £52.20. They come in sizes 1 to 13 and have taken cues from the classic Mary Jane silhouette.
The shoes feature chic scallop edges, are crafted from top-tier leather, and offer both durability and comfort for everyday use.
For shoppers seeking different brands, the McKenzie Parkin Junior is available at JD Sports for just £35. Available in assorted sizes, these synthetic leather shoes feature a lace-up fastening, a cushy collar for added comfort, and rest on a cushioned midsole paired with a rubber sole that ensures a secure grip.
Additionally, the M&S Collection Kids' Leather Riptape School Shoes are available, priced between £36 and £38, and come in sizes ranging from 2.5 to 9. One customer review praised them, saying: "Very good quality, lasts long and is comfortable. Good for wide feet."
The array of footwear from Kickers has been celebrated with positive feedback on their website, including one customer who noted: "I have bought three pairs of Tovni shoes for my granddaughters and they've loved them. They've been hard wearing and lasted the school's tough test well."
One satisfied customer expressed: "We always buy Kickers for both my boys for school. Long-lasting, comfortable from the start, and a great all-rounder shoe for boys with a cool yet smart trainer-style look. Top notch, would recommend."
Yet, not everyone was pleased, as one lamented: "Too small. The width was very narrow."
But a happy buyer complimented the shoes, remarking: "This is our second pair. The first pair lasted two years. Good quality and nice style."

Sales and profits jump at Coleen Rooney-backed Applied Nutrition
A protein shake maker backed by the retailer JD Sports and Coleen Rooney will mark its first year as a public company by announcing forecast-beating sales and profit figures. Applied Nutrition, which was one of London's biggest listings in the class of 2024, told shareholders that sales for the year to July 31 are expected to come in at £107 million, beating analysts' forecasts of £100 million and a 24 per cent increase year-on-year, driven by strong trading in the second half. The business was founded by its chief executive, Thomas Ryder, 41, who trained as a scaffolder. He started out by selling supplements as a sideline before going full-time at the age of 24. He switched from retailing to wholesaling and started Applied Nutrition in 2014. The company now sells more than 100 health and fitness products, including protein shakes, energy drinks and vitamins, across more than 85 different countries. It has the backing of investors such as Peter Cowgill, the former JD Sports boss, and Mohsin Issa, the co-owner of Asda; as well as Rooney, the wife of ex-England footballer Wayne Rooney. Andy Bell, the founder of investment platform AJ Bell, is the company's chairman. Adjusted underlying profit, excluding exceptional items relating to October's initial public offering, for the 12 months to July 31 is expected to be 19 per cent up on the year before, while it is set to end the financial year with a better-than-expected cash position of about £18.5 million. While the update was light on information as to which areas of the business drove growth, the company said that its business-to-business-focused model, where it makes the majority of its sales, high-quality products and new product development 'will continue to drive sustained revenue growth and strong profitability over the long term'. Given the group's recent trading momentum, the board believes revenues for the present financial year will be ahead of the market's expectations of £112.4 million. Applied Nutrition's shares rose 11p, or 8.5 per cent, to 142½p, valuing the company at around £328 million, meaning the stock has gained 5.4 per cent since the shares listed at 140p-a-piece. It also helped to give JD Sports a lift: shares in the retailer, which owns an almost 10 per cent stake, rose 7 per cent to lead the FTSE 100. Ryder said the group's 'focus and ambition remain as strong as ever — in delivering for our shareholders, customers and team — and we are excited about the opportunities we have in the pipeline for the year ahead'. Analysts at Peel Hunt called the sales figures 'highly impressive … given the uncertainty at the half-year', while Wayne Brown, an analyst at Panmure Liberum, argued that Applied Nutrition's shares 'deserve to go much stronger … having not missed a beat since its float and now delivering meaningful upgrades.'

Amazon Kindle Fire tablets shoppers 'use every day' slashed to £20 in 12-hour sale
Wowcher has slashed prices across a range of the reading devices. Bargain hunters looking for a budget-friendly tablet are in luck, as Wowcher is currently offering Amazon Kindle Fire devices for as little as £19.99. However, this deal is only available for a very limited time and will expire at midnight tonight, Wednesday, August 20. This means shoppers only have a few hours to take advantage of the offer. The Kindle Fire tablets on sale are refurbished models from a few years ago, with the most basic £19.99 version being the very first Kindle Fire tablet that Amazon launched back in 2011. As expected, this older piece of technology doesn't quite match up to today's standards, but it can still serve as a dedicated eReader or a digital photo frame. There are also some more recent devices available in the mix. For an additional tenner, shoppers can get their hands on a refurbished Kindle Fire 7 HD, which is a much more recent and powerful version of Amazon's popular tablet. With a 7-inch HD screen, it's perfect for watching films or casual web browsing. However, Amazon's tablets are known for being slightly underpowered, so don't expect to be editing Hollywood films on this device - it's primarily intended for consumption rather than creation. The devices on offer at Wowcher are all refurbished, meaning they've been previously owned and restored by professionals. As such, they should be in full working order with a few cosmetic marks here and there, reports the Manchester Evening News. Those preferring a fresh tablet can grab the most affordable model from Amazon's current Fire lineup, the HD 8, priced at £69.99. Android enthusiasts might fancy the Samsung A9, another sought-after device currently available for £77.99. Examining customer feedback for these earlier Kindle Fire variants, owners from that era appeared genuinely impressed. Boasting 4.5 stars across the board, it garnered remarkably favourable reviews. Tech deal of the week Shoppers looking for a set of budget earbuds are in luck as Amazon has a set that shoppers say work 'as well as Apple Airpods.' The Jxrev Wireless Earbuds usually retail for £24.99, but shoppers can now snap them up for £18.99 in a limited time deal. Providing up to eight hours of playtime from a single charge, these earbuds will let users listen to their favourite tunes, audiobooks and podcasts uninterrupted for hours on end. When used with the charging case, this boosts up to 40 hours. For those worried about losing battery in the middle of the day, the charging case also comes with an LED display so users know exactly how much battery is remaining. On top of this, shoppers will get clear calls as the earbuds come with environmental noise cancellation which will cancel out or suppress background noise to make users sound clearer. Many shoppers have raved over these earbuds, which currently have a 4.3 star rating. One happy shopper said: "These fit brilliantly and once you know what taps to do and when; they are excellent quality, value, usability and size. Great delivery speed too. "They fit my tiny ear canals brilliantly with no discomfort or problem using them. Easy to set up Bluetooth. They were 100 per cent charged which was greatly appreciated." To buy the Jxrev Wireless Earbuds, click HERE. One satisfied customer said: "My recommendations for people buying a Kindle Fire: If you are looking for an e-reader with additional functions, if you want to read magazines on your e-reader, if you want to watch the occasional movie and play a game here and there, then the Fire is right for you." A second reviewer states: "I got my Kindle Fire right when they were first released in 2011 - five years later I still use it every day, more than my iPad Mini." Nevertheless, certain buyers encountered difficulties whilst using the device. "It was heavy and the resolution was not great. I liked the iPad mini or Samsung tablet much better as they can be used for reading as well as web-browsing," one shopper revealed. Another review states: "I like this for reading books but it is horrible for Internet usage. There is a delay when you type and many pages don't load correctly. "I got an iPad eight months after I bought my Kindle and now I wish I had never bought the Kindle." However, another five-star reviewer commented: "I bought this for my 9-year-old daughter. It is amazing. "She loves reading books and playing games. It isn't as expensive as an iPad but it has pretty much all the great features an iPad has."

Ballet flats with cushioned soles have shoppers with bunions buying 'again and again'
If you haven't heard of shoe brand Vivaia, you're about to this autumn... Every season brings with it a shoe that really takes off. Last year, it was the chunky loafer, and this autumn, the crown looks set to go to the ballet flat. Not the paper-thin pair you once wore to sixth-form discos, but a more adult version that's designed to look elegant and feel wearable. The Mary Jane flat, everywhere on the catwalks for AW25, seals its place as the shoe to know for the end of summer. In particular, Vivaia's Almond-toe Mary-Jane AdaptAll flats are already gaining traction as a fashion insider favourite. The almond-shaped toe makes them sleeker than a round ballet pump, and the strap adds that collegiate edge we're seeing across collections from Miu Miu to Tory Burch. But beyond the trend points, there's something else setting them apart: comfort. A triple-layer cushioned sole has made them the flat shoe that even bunion sufferers can wear without regret. Instead of being a one-hour shoe, they're proving to be an all-day option. The knit upper fabric flexes to fit, the strap adjusts rather than digs and you can chuck them in the washing machine when the weather makes them messy. The nine colours and prints range from deep forest shades to neutral staples, meaning they slot into wardrobes built around blazers and wide-leg trousers just as easily as dresses and tights. But don't just take our word for it, shoppers are raving about them... One reviewer pens: "I doubted whether the almond toe would fit to my prominent bunion feet after up to now only wearing square toe shoes, but surprisingly they do! And they look gorgeous. To be honest a second pair of the same style did not fit well as it was a little bit tighter and therefore too uncomfortable to keep." Another says: "Love the look, mild cushioning inside, I wouldn't say major arch support for those with that issue. The criss cross straps are snug, I'm assuming they'll stretch a little as I wear them. All in all very happy with the purchase." "Love them. So comfortable & will be great for travel," a third writes. Fashion-wise, the timing is perfect. Ballet pumps and Mary Janes are two of the biggest footwear stories for autumn, styled on runways with everything from cropped tailoring to layered knits. The difference is that most runway versions aren't made for the bus commute or a long day on your feet. These are. At £120, they're more of an investment than a throwaway high street flat, but that price tag has not slowed repeat purchases. Shoppers are going back for second and third pairs, which tells you everything you need to know about their staying power. However, if your budget doesn't stretch that far, we've spotted a New Look ballet pump launch that gets you a timeless Chanel-inspired look for considerably less. The Black Quilted Faux Leather Ballet Flats are priced at just £19.99, and have that same quiet luxury look as the designer ones without breaking the bank.
