Khloé Kardashian used to want to be skinny. Now she's all about muscle, protein and a bigger butt.

In her 20s, Khloé Kardashian didn't keep track of how much water she drank, she didn't own matching workout sets and, in accordance with body ideals of the early 2000s, she saw thinness as a pillar of fitness and beauty. 'We weren't carrying around a hydro jug of water every day or tracking our intake,' she tells Yahoo Life. 'It was more like, 'Let's take diet pills and not eat.''
Fast-forward two decades, and Kardashian is in a different place altogether. At 40, she's getting more water and protein, focusing on strength rather than a number on the scale and, best of all, enjoying the process. 'I definitely think I look better now, but also feel better now than I did when I was in my 20s,' she says.
Over the years, she's become the Kardashian sister most closely associated with the world of fitness. She's hosted Revenge Body on E!, written the book Strong Looks Better Naked and collaborated with the athleisure brand Fabletics. But her relationship with the gym and her body, she says, is ever-changing.
'Now I have different goals. It's not that I'm trying to hit a weight goal. I work out because of what it does for me mentally,' Kardashian says. 'It makes me happier, I have more clarity [and] I feel like I have more energy.'
Her current focus has a lot to do with her desire to be the best mom for her two children, daughter, True, 7, and son, Tatum, 2, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend, NBA player Tristan Thompson.
'When I stay up on my health and up on my strength, I'm active with my kids,' the reality star says. 'I'm running around and swimming [with them].' She works out four to five days a week, she says. 'If I'm stressed or having a bad day, I do let it out in the gym, as opposed to snapping on my kids or something like that.'
In that sense, 'therapy really is in the gym for me,' she adds. 'Whether it's the music that I'm blasting or getting these endorphins up, whatever it is, it's just what I need.' But she still has her sights set on physical targets as well.
'I love muscle, and that's the stage I'm at. I want to build triceps or build bigger legs and have more muscle definition,' she says. 'Working out I have down pat, and I'm great at it. I think the hardest part for me is my protein intake.'
Yep — like a lot of Americans, Kardashian is preoccupied with protein, the macronutrient du jour that's gotten a big boost thanks to the rise of GLP-1 weight loss medications. In Kardashian's case, however, it's down to age and what protein can do to offset muscle loss. 'I see how beneficial it is for you to have muscle mass when you're older — yes, in my 40s, but even in your 60s and 70s to be able to, you know, walk without assistance,' she says.
The conversation is constantly popping up on her social media feeds. It also inspired her to come out with her own line of protein-packed popcorn to make her nutrition goals easier to hit. And it's not the only new project tied to 'health and fitness and longevity' she's got in the works. Her new By Khloé line of workout garments for Fabletics is designed to motivate her to keep upping her fitness game.
'I think when you feel good and confident in your workout clothes, then you are more comfortable to go to the gym and work out,' Kardashian says, recalling a time when she exercised in 'really baggy T-shirts and sweats' because she felt insecure in her body. 'It does sound really superficial, but when I started investing in workout clothes, I was like, 'OK, let me just try to play the part at least and pretend I know what I'm doing,' I noticed I would actually work out harder. I would be a little bit more dedicated in the gym.'
Kardashian would reward herself for hitting certain fitness goals by buying a new workout outfit. 'It's silly, but it's actually how I got through.' And as time goes on, she finds that it still helps — especially if the garments put the results of her hard work on display. Which brings us to … the butt.
'I feel like it's always about the butt. Big or small, we all just want it to be perky and look right and tight. Especially the older you get, you know, gravity [takes] a toll,' she says. Enter her new TLC workout leggings, which feature a heart-shaped seam that gives the bottom a peach-like appearance. '[It] tones and lifts and contours,' Kardashian says. 'You just feel good, even if you have to fake it until you make it a little bit.'
If the butt-enhancing leggings sound familiar, it might be due to sister Kim's own recent launch of the Ultimate Butt shapewear collection for Skims. 'What's funny is Kim and I didn't talk about our designs, but there's similarities to both of ours,' she says. '[We] have a similar aesthetic with things that we like anyhow, so it doesn't surprise me.'

Born in Dover, Delaware, Hutchins began preaching at just 8 years old and was ordained by age 12. He launched his solo music career in 1992 with Sparrow Records and went on to release 10 albums across Sparrow, JDI, and IR Records—seven of which charted on Billboard's Gospel Albums chart. Hutchins earned multiple Dove, Stellar, and Grammy nominations, with signature songs like "Jesus I Love You" and "God's Got a Blessing" becoming gospel staples. In addition to his music, Hutchins was a pastor and founder of Frontline Ministries in Dover. He also served as minister of music at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles. He held a master's degree in biblical counseling and a doctorate in church administration. Jana Kramer Says Husband Allan Russell's Comments About Forbidding Her from Doing Sex Scenes Were a 'Joke'

Jana Kramer addressed her husband Allan Russell's statements about not allowing her to perform an intimate scene while on an acting job 'There's a conversation with every [job] we take,' Kramer recently told E! News Kramer also criticized fans for "[ripping] him apart" for his comments about acting in intimate scenesJana Kramer is addressing the controversial statements her husband made about her filming intimate scenes. The One Tree Hill alum, 41, spoke about her husband Allan Russell's thoughts on her taking on acting roles that would require her to be intimate with someone else, in a recent interview with E! News published Friday, June 6. 'He was joking,' Kramer told the outlet of her husband. 'There's a conversation with every [job] we take. It's the same thing with his line of work.' 'I'm not going to do something that is wildly taking my clothes off for no reason,' the actress continued. 'If it is creatively gonna move the needle and it's important to me for the role, he is so supportive.' On the Dec. 8 episode of Kramer's iHeart podcast, Whine Down, she and Russell discussed a recent episode of Yellowstone, in which Wes Bentley and Dawn Olivieri's characters had a sex scene. Without hesitation, the former soccer player told his actress wife she could never take on a similar role. 'There's not part of me that will ever, ever, ever allow that, ever, for a man to be that close to you like that,' he said. 'Never.' 'What if Taylor Sheridan has me audition and I book a role where I have to have that scene?' Kramer responded, referring to Yellowstone's creator. 'Then I will go Tommy Lee on everyone,' Russell, 43, exclaimed. 'I will be phoning the producers and threatening the producers, 'You need to change that scene. Well, this for the good of your health, you need to change this scene.' ' 'No. I wouldn't let you do that scene. No,' he added. 'That's not good for a marriage, that type of role. It's not. Especially [as] a man who's not in the acting world, it's difficult, therefore that's my opinion based on, I'm not in that world. You can keep smiling and laughing if you want. But let's flip it. Let's flip it because we always do that.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. 'He's like, 'I'm your lucky charm.' I'm like, 'No, you are!' It's been great,' she added, noting that Russell makes her feel 'not only supported, but loved and like I can do my work.' Kramer also criticized fans for "[ripping] him apart" for his comments about acting in intimate scenes. 'That's what marriage is—it's a conversation. It's not like, 'No, you cannot do this.' I don't think that's healthy,' she finished. Kourtney Kardashian Shares Throwback Photo of Her Reaction to Tristan Thompson Cheating Scandal with Jordyn Woods

Kourtney Kardashian Barker is taking it back to one of the most talked about moments on Keeping Up with the Kardashians The Poosh founder shared an Instagram carousel featuring a photo of her reaction to the Jordyn Woods and Tristan Thompson cheating scandal in 2019 "I'm literally shaking," Kardashian Barker said on the E! reality show with a straight faceKourtney Kardashian Barker is throwing it back to one of the most shocking moments in Keeping Up with the Kardashians history! The Poosh founder, 46, shared an Instagram carousel on Friday, June 6, that ended with a still image taken from the penultimate season 16 episode of the long-running reality series. In the scene, the mom of four gets her glam done while wearing patches around her eyes and jawline. She was on a three-way call with sisters Khloé Kardashian, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. The sisters had just learned Khloé's then-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, had made out with Jenner's best friend, Jordyn Woods, at a party at his house. Khloé shared on the call that Woods claimed she and Thompson 'did make out' and that she 'just can't believe this is happening,' adding 'she was 'confused.' "I'm like ... you're confused?" Khloé added on the call, to which Jenner responded, 'Wow.' Kardashian Barker said at the time, "I'm literally shaking, I'm so furious.' She quipped, "Tristan's gotta go.' Khloé, 40, and Thompson, 34, have had a tumultuous relationship since they were romantically linked in 2016. The Jordyn Woods scandal marked Thompson's second time being unfaithful to the Khloé in Wonderland podcast host. Days before Khloé gave birth to her first child with the then-Cleveland Cavaliers player, Thompson was spotted making out with two random women in April 2018. In December 2021, news broke that Thompson fathered a child with Marlee Nichols – while he was in a relationship with Khloé, following their reconciliation. Khloé and Thompson share two children: daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 2 ½. In a November 2023 episode of Hulu's The Kardashians, Kardashian Barker told Thompson 'I don't think you deserve Khloé, or the actions that you've done are something she's deserved." "I'm really not here to judge," Kardashian Barker continued. "I don't have any anger, it's just more like I want an understanding of how you could do these things or how it got there.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. As for the Kylie Cosmetics CEO's relationship with Woods since the scandal, the two have slowly rekindled their friendship over the years. Last month, the two shared a sweet BFF moment while attending a Knicks vs. Celtics game. Jenner attended the game with her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet and sister Kendall Jenner. "We're wearing the same outfit every time!" Jenner, 27, told Woods, also 27, after they were spotted jumping up and down, holding hands, following the Knicks' win. Woods is currently dating Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns. Read the original article on People
