‘Emily in Paris' Season 5 cast announced with one major character missing from the lineup
'Emily in Paris' looks to be saying au revoir – or ciao – to one cast member that has been part of the Netflix series since the beginning.
Camille Razat, who plays Emily's (Lily Collins) frenemy of the same first name, does not appear to be returning for Season 5, according to a cast announcement published on Netflix's Tudum on Thursday. Razat has been a series regular for the past four seasons playing Gabriel's (Lucas Bravo) on-again-off-again romantic partner.
CNN reached out to a representative for Netflix for comment on Razat's future with the franchise, as well as representatives for Razat.
Among the cast members who are returning are Collins, Bravo, Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu and Lucien Laviscount. Emily's new Italian love interest Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini, will also be back.
Bravo's return to the series comes after the actor previously spoke out about his displeasure with his character's arc, telling IndieWire in an interview last year that he was questioning if he wanted 'to be part of Season 5.'
Netflix also announced on Thursday that the series will start production on Season 5 in May, filming in Rome before heading back to Paris later this summer.
Season 4 ended with Emily being tasked with opening up a Roman branch of Agence Grateau.
Of course, her love interest Marcello will be part of that story, further complicating her already complex romantic relationship with Gabriel as they work toward his restaurant earning a Michelin star.
'Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,' star Collins told Tudum. 'We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.'
A release date for Season 5 has not yet been announced.

Duffers Brothers Sign Four-Year Paramount Deal, Plan Netflix Exit in April 2026
Yara Sameh Matt and Ross Duffer, best known for creating the Netflix juggernaut 'Stranger Things,' are officially in business with Paramount. The pair are leaving Netflix for a wide-ranging, four-year exclusive deal at Paramount. The agreement, which is expected to emphasize 'ambitious' and 'large-scale theatrical films,' as well as television and streaming projects. It will commence following the conclusion of their current deal with Netflix in April 2026. The upcoming projects will be developed through their production company, Upside Down Pictures, led by the brothers and their producing partner and president of the company, Hilary Leavitt. 'We couldn't be more thrilled to be joining the Paramount family,' the Duffers said in a statement. 'To be part of that mission is not just exciting – it's the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. And to do so at a studio with such a storied Hollywood legacy is a privilege we don't take lightly. The pair will also work with Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg, who share film and series creative duties at Paramount. Their hiring, which comes shortly after Paramount's $8 billion merger with Skydance, is part of the company's chairman and CEO David Ellison's goal to be the 'first call for filmmakers and artists seeking a creative home that champions their work and amplifies it on a global stage.' The news, which leaked last week, comes as the Duffers gear up for the fifth and final season of 'Stranger Things' on Netflix. Miss Palestine to compete in Miss Universe pageant for first time
Beauty queen Nadeen Ayoub will become the first woman to represent the Palestinian people at the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) said in a statement sent to CNN on Sunday that it was 'pleased to confirm' that Ayoub would compete in the Miss Universe 2025 competition, which takes place in November. 'The Miss Universe Organization proudly welcomes delegates from across the globe, celebrating diversity, cultural exchange, and the empowerment of women,' the statement reads. 'Ms. Ayoub, an accomplished advocate and model from Palestine, embodies the resilience and determination that define our platform,' it adds. Ayoub will join competitors from more than 130 other countries and territories at the 74th Miss Universe final, which will be held on November 21 in Bangkok, Thailand. 'We look forward to welcoming Ms. Ayoub on the Miss Universe stage, where she will proudly represent Palestine, standing alongside contestants from every corner of the world,' MUO said in the statement. Ayoub, now 27, was crowned Miss Palestine back in 2022, according to Abu Dhabi-based news outlet The National. Posting on Instagram on Thursday, Ayoub said she wanted to be a voice for the Palestinian people. 'I am honored to announce that for the first time ever, Palestine will be represented at Miss Universe,' she wrote in the caption. 'As Palestine endures heartbreak — especially in Gaza — I carry the voice of a people who refuse to be silenced. I represent every Palestinian woman and child whose strength the world needs to see,' Ayoub added. 'We are more than our suffering — we are resilience, hope, and the heartbeat of a homeland that lives on through us.' The decision to include a Palestinian entry in the beauty pageant comes amid growing international criticism of Israel's war in Gaza. At least 62,004 people have been killed in the strip since the start of the conflict in October 2023, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement published Monday. Authorities in Gaza do not distinguish between civilians and Hamas fighters when reporting casualty figures, but the health ministry and the United Nations say the majority of deaths are women and children. As the war continues, a growing number of countries are pledging to recognize a Palestinian state, with more than 145 nations now joining the call for international recognition. Most recently, Australia, Canada and France announced plans to recognize a Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly meeting in September, while the United Kingdom has conditionally said it will recognize it if Israel does not meet criteria that include agreeing to a ceasefire in Gaza.
