Susan Boyle proves she's an Oasis superfan after unexpected Liam Gallagher shoutout
Liam Gallagher made sure to dedicate Oasis hit Stand By Me to none other than Susan Boyle as they wrapped up their Scottish shows. The Britpop icons headed to Edinburgh's Murrayfield stadium this weekend and last night as they performed to 210,000 fans.
As they prepared to bid farewell to the Scottish capital, Liam revealed the band has an unexpected fan. He made sure to mention Britain's Got Talent star Susan before performing the 1997 hit.
Liam quipped: "This one is for Susan Boyle," before he launched into the song. It comes after Paul Weller reveals the unusual reason he refuses to watch Oasis concerts.
The clip of Liam's shoutout quickly went viral online as one said: "Wee SuBo getting a mention." Another added: "Hahaha Mon the Susan".
Someone else commented: "He makes me laugh!!" It seemed Susan was more than impressed by the dedication from Liam as she shared a snap of her all kitted out in Oasis merchandise.
The opera singer stood in her home and gave a thumbs up to the camera as she rocked an Oasis T-shirt and Liam Gallagher bucket hat. Alongside her post, Susan expressed her delight at the shoutout and revealed she'll be seeing Oasis soon.
She said: "Thanks so much for the dedication @liamgallagher. You've made this old girl's day. Hope to see you and the rest of @oasis at Wembley in September for a wee bit of poznan. Big love to you all."
The love for Susan didn't stop there as the official Oasis Instagram account shared snaps from the Edinburgh show on Tuesday and wrote: "THIS ONE'S FOR SUSAN BOYLE."

Oasis' manager, Alec McKinlay, previously said that the current dates are the only ones that the band will be performing. He said in May: "This is very much the last time around, as Noel's made clear in the press.
"It's a chance for fans who haven't seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to. No, there's no plans for any new music."
But Liam later hit out at the comments while replying to a fan on X, as he fumed: "Neither do I and the only people that will be making any kind of decisions on the future of OASIS will be ME n RKID [Noel] so let's just take it one day at a time."

Taylor Swift unveils 12th studio album 'The Life of a Showgirl' on Travis Kelce's podcast
Taylor Swift has announced that her 12th studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl, will be released on October 3. The announcement was made during Swift's appearance on her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce's, podcast on Wednesday. Unveiling a copy of the new record, the singer said: "This is my new album, The Life Of A Showgirl. It's something I was working on while I was in Europe on the Eras tour." The album will include 12 tracks, with Sabrina Carpenter featuring on the title song and as the only collaboration. Carpenter said in a post on Instagram: "The Life Of A Showgirl, October 3, I know someone who's freaking out and it's me." Fans have theorised that Swift's 12th album would soon be on the way. The singer is known as a prolific songwriter who drops clues in unlikely places for her fans, known as 'easter eggs'. On Monday, Taylor Nation, an official branch of the pop superstar's marketing team, posted a slideshow on social media platform TikTok, featuring 12 images with the caption 'Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…'' Swift is seen wearing orange in every image. The album artwork, which features the singer submerged in water, continues the colour scheme of orange and mint green. Swift recorded the album in Europe while she was on her sold-out "Eras tour", flying between dates to record. On Kelce's podcast, the singer said, "I just love music. I would be playing shows three nights in a row, then I would have three days off.""I would fly to Sweden. Working on this, I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating." On the podcast, Travis Kelce said the fact that Swift recorded the album while simultaneously travelling the world was "still blowing my mind". Swift described the album as "a lot more upbeat" than her previous "The Tortured Poets Department", which she released during the Eras Tour in 2023. "There aren't other ones coming," she clarified, likely referencing her announcement just two hours after The Tortured Poets Department was released, that it was in fact a double album. The latest release is 12 tracks - that's it. The albums theme? "Everything that was going on behind the curtain," she said. "It feels kind of, energetically, how my life has felt." The Life Of A Showgirl is Swift's first album since she announced she had bought back the rights to her first six albums, ending a long-running battle over the ownership of her music. She also announced she had purchased the rights to all of her concert films, music videos, album art and photography, as well as unreleased songs, giving her control over her entire catalogue for the first time. The saga began in 2019 when the singer announced plans to re-record all her songs following a dispute with retired talent manager Scooter Braun after he acquired the recordings of her first six studio albums when he bought her former label. Though the masters changed hands again after a deal with Shamrock Capital, Swift continued with a bid to regain ownership of the music by creating new versions of the songs. She has been re-recording most of her albums, re-releasing them as 'Taylor's Version'. She is yet to release her debut self-titled album or 2017's Reputation. Speaking about acquiring her master recordings, Swift said: "My music has been sold a few times. The first time it was sold, it really ripped my heart out of my chest.""I started basically defiantly re-recording my music because I wanted to own it. And this was the only way I thought it was ever going to happen.""Re-recording my music, it was so exciting to get to have that opportunity. But I still thought about not owning my music every day."After the Eras tour, I had a meeting with my team and we decided this might be a good time to approach the current owners of it."Swift then became emotional as she described the phone call from her mother afterwards to tell her "you got your music". Her 12th studio album comes after Swift's billion-dollar, record-breaking Eras Tour ended in made history last summer when the tour became the highest-grossing of all time, and Swift became the first solo artist to perform at London's Wembley Stadium eight times on a single has had four UK number one singles and 13 UK number one albums. Some of her best-known songs include Love Story, Shake It Off and 22. 'The Life of a Showgirl' tracklist 1. The Fate of Ophelia 2. Elizabeth Taylor 3. Opalite 4. Father Figure 5. Eldest Daughter 6. Ruin the Friendship 7. Actually Romantic 8. Wi$h Li$t 9. Wood 10. Cancelled! 11. Honey 12. The Life of a Showgirl (featuring Sabrina Carpenter)

Amy has continued to lose weight in recent months after sparking worries among fans who were concerned at the drastic change to her appearance in just a few short months. Amy, who has always maintained a healthy weight, now appears to be at her slimmest since shooting to fame in 2010. Clearly enjoying her family time, the reality TV legend captioned her video clip: "This is what I live for. Holiday Time. "I have been counting down the days for time with all of us, life has been crazy busy lately. "Having mum guilt the past few months has been tough but some much needed time away with my gang. And of course me and Milly are matching." However one worried fan expressed concern for Amy flaunting her trimmed figure, saying: "What I don't understand is, why is she flaunting her body everyday when she clearly knows that people are saying she looks underweight." Someone else echoed: "Oh Amy, please go to talk to a doctor about your weight and nutrition." Before a third wrote: "Need to put a tad bit of weight on there Amy." As a fourth bluntly said: "Please don't lose no more weight, you look ill." Amy Childs shows off huge new pool at £1.7m Essex mansion and strips off to black bikini after sparking concern with weight loss Others were quick to speak out in support of her - with one follower pointing out she had been struggling after her mum's heart attack. Mum-of-four Amy was previously forced to put any "fat jab" rumours to bed after fans speculated she might be using Ozempic to achieve her thin frame. She revealed that she had tried weight loss injections in the past - but felt so sick she stopped immediately. "The nausea stayed with me for three days. And it scared me so I stopped immediately,' she said. In May, Amy opened up about her extreme weight loss, which has seen her shed two stone. Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "People don't know what is going on behind closed doors. 'I'm going through so much at the minute that the weight has fallen off me. "I worry about my mum constantly. She's very emotional – she thinks she's going to have another heart attack.' Amy added: 'People think I'm not eating, but I do eat. "To be honest, I do feel better when I'm a bit heavier than I am at the moment. 'There's so much going on at the minute – it's the result of pure stress."

The 12-year-old has been named among nine other girls from across the globe GIRL POWER Scots school pupil, 12, named on Time magazine's first-ever Girls of the Year list Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SCOTS school pupil has been named on the first-ever Girls of the Year list by Time magazine. Rebecca Young, 12, features on the prestigious list alongside nine other girls from around the world, who are all recognised as being young leaders inspiring communities. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Rebecca (bottom right) featured on the limited-edition Time cover as a Lego character Credit: PA The youngster, from Glasgow, has been hailed as an innovator after she designed a solar-powered backpack with an electric blanket inside to help homeless people. Rebecca was just 11 when she came up with the idea after becoming concerned about people sleeping on the streets during a freezing Scottish winter. And her design ended up winning an engineering award in a UK-wide competition with 70,000 participants. The Kelvinside Academy pupil and eight of the other girls are featured as part of a limited-edition animated Time cover. The girls have been reimagined as Lego characters, each aimed at capturing the spirit of their achievements. Rebecca described it as "cool and very unexpected" to be among those named. She added: "I'm honoured by the fact they wanted to include me on their Girls of the Year list and hope other kids see it and decide to do their part in helping people." Rebecca thought of making the solar-powered backpack after she was asked during a club at school to come up with an idea focused on helping people. But it wasn't just an idea, she researched different types of solar panels, wiring, and batteries, and drew up a detailed blueprint. After winning her engineering award, 30 blankets were manufactured by firm Thales. Tragic homeless crisis gripping UK city as rough sleepers fend off addicts The bags were then distributed to a homeless shelter in Glasgow earlier this year. There are plans to make 120 more, which has left mum Louise "very proud". Rebecca added: "It helped me see a different aspect of engineering, and how it could actually help people. "That definitely helped inspire me." Girls of the Year 2025 The 2025 Time Girls of the Year list features 10 honourees, including: Author Rutendo Shadaya, 17, of New Zealand Athlete Coco Yoshizawa, 15, of Japan Innovator Valerie Chiu, 15, of China Artist Zoé Clauzure, 15, of France Innovator Clara Proksch, 12, of Germany Athlete Ivanna Richards, 17, of Mexico Innovator Kornelia Wieczorek, 17, of Poland Adventurer Defne Özcan, 17, of Turkey Innovator Rebecca Young, 12, of United Kingdom Advocate Naomi S. DeBerry, 12, of the United States. Time magazine's collaboration with Lego followed a recent study by the Lego group of more than 32,000 parents and children across 21 countries. And it found 70 per cent of young women struggle to see themselves as someone who is good at building things. It also found that children were twice as likely to credit major inventions to men - with most believing that wifi (69 per cent) and the Moon landing software (68 per cent) were invented by men, even though they were pioneered by women. Time chief executive Jessica Sibley said the list features girls aged between 12 and 17 who are "shaping their communities with courage and purpose". 2 Rebecca described it as "cool and very unexpected" to be among those named Credit: PA Julia Goldin, LEGO Group Chief Product & Marketing Officer, said: "When girls don't see it, they don't believe it - the world risks missing out on the next big breakthrough. "There's no stopping what girls can build. "Time's Girls of the Year is a step in giving the next generation the role models they deserve, recognising young women globally who are not just imagining a better world but actively creating it. "Together with Time we hope these stories will inspire a future generation of unstoppable female builders to dream big and continue making their mark on the world."
