Amazon Prime Video continues to pose a threat to Netflix thanks to the sheer quantity of content it provides subscribers.
Prime Video is home to the largest library of TV and films with more than 21,066 titles available as part of the subscription, and an additional 40,000 available for a rental fee.
This is great if you are looking for the largest selection, but the streaming service falters at the quality of shows available.
The service has 117 million global subscribers.
Amazon Prime Video has a smaller selection of Amazon Original shows and movies (although this is increasing after a drive for more original content), compared to its rival Netflix.
That said, for sheer volume of content, it's the leader of the pack, and we enjoy it particularly for it's film library, if not the TV shows.
Alex's verdict:
Amazon probably has the most difficult-to-navigate interface, which almost seems deliberately designed to obscure what's actually on there as part of a Prime subscription – about half the time, it feels like, you'll be expected to pay for something individually that was listed among their general content library.
It's also difficult to think of any flagship Amazon shows that are essential and unmissable – there's plenty of good ones, but really Amazon Prime Video is less of a necessity on its own terms, and more a nice addition to have as well if you're already making use of Amazon Prime.

Skechers launches £45 trainers with hidden compartment for Apple AirTags
Skechers, a trainer brand renowned for its comfort and support, has taken a leap forward with a new children's shoe designed to house an Apple AirTag. This feature allows parents to track their child's movements, marking a significant departure from the brand's usual slip-on trainers or shoes with 'cloud-like' inserts. The Go Run Elevate range, starting at £45, features a concealed compartment compatible with AirTags under the inner sole. The hidden nature of the compartment may offer parents reassurance as they can monitor their child's location, whether at nursery, in the park, or during a busy day out. Prices start at £45 for toddler sizes and go up to £55 for boys' and girls' sizes. However, it is important to note that the AirTag, which is central to the shoe's design, is not included in the price. These must be purchased separately. You can buy a pack of four, reduced from £119 to £89 on Amazon. Alternatively, Currys offers a pack of four AirTags for £92, reports Nottinghamshire Live. At a first glance, the price might seem steep, but it actually breaks down to a more affordable £23 per AirTag. No other brand has launched a line of footwear specifically crafted to house a Bluetooth tracker. But the concept is gaining traction on social media, with parents threading AirTags into their children's Jordan 1 laces, now retailing at £54.99 at the Nike Store. When compared to these methods, Skechers' offering appears to be a snugger and more comfortable alternative for embedding an AirTag within footwear, complete with a cosy design. The Go Run Elevate series boasts adaptive materials and includes an instep strap for added convenience. With the design being relatively new, there aren't many comments yet, but the feedback from consumers has been largely favourable, with the handful of reviews posted so far praising the shoes' comfort and functionality. A glowing five-star review stated: "The idea of this product is awesome, and Skechers are comfortable and offer good quality for a great price. "The fact that someone gave this product a one-star rating based on a suggestion to make these for adults didn't sit well with me." Another buyer remarked on how their child found the shoe 'so comfortable to wear'. Although a majority of purchasers are supportive of the design for their kids, it's sparked some controversy and debate. On Reddit, some users have expressed reservations about the design, with one individual commenting: "This is weird since Apple doesn't recommend using AirTags to track one's kids."

Love Is Blind UK fans 'work out' future for favourite couple after spotting subtle sign
Fans are already having their say on the Love Is Blind UK couples *Contains spoilers for Love Is Blind UK Season 2* Love Is Blind UK fans have worked out the future of one "favourite" couple as season two is released. The highly anticipated second season of Love Is Blind UK hit Netflix today with the first four episodes now available to stream. Brand new hopefuls are taking part in the unique experiment in a bid to find their perfect match. The twist? Not being able to see their potential partner in person, instead relying on a strong emotional bond. Once that connection is secured, then the couple will take their relationship to the next stage by getting engaged - only then will they meet in person. And with the first batch of episodes dropping today, fans are already having their say on who they think will make a strong relationship, or who will ultimately leave the show in tears. Kal and Sarover have formed a connection in the pods, but due to their differing backgrounds and the fact Sarover is not Kal's 'usual type', fans fear the worst. 29-year-old medical company owner Sarover grew up in a modern Indian family and has never had a serious relationship or dated outside of her ethnic background before. Growing up, she believed that a boyfriend should be the one she intended to marry. Kal, who is 32, from Wigan, has not had a relationship last for longer than a year. His dad is Pakistani and his mother is English and he is part of a large, close-knit family. Fans have "noticed" Kal seems particularly "cold" or "uninterested" in Sarover after taking their connection to the next step and asking her to marry him. One fan said on X: "Kal better not break Sarover's heart! She's a gorgeous girl… he is giving me a bad feeling with her not being his 'type'." Another penned: "You're done - sarover." A third added: "Kal needs to stop singing about Sarover not being his type, like we get it, don't make the girl feel insecure." Over on Reddit, one person wrote: "Its pretty clear that sarover and Kal are not getting married." Another added: "He seems to be very cold towards her and she needs a reassurance she won't be getting." A third worried: "I Hope the indian/pakistani thing won't set them back." However, despite some convinced of a future heartbreak, many fans say they are "rooting" for the pair. One person said: "Kal and Sarover are such a cute couple, rooting for them so far." A third confessed: "Don't want to speak too soon but Kal and Sarover are my ship and i'll ride with them till the end." A fourth added: "Sarova and Kal are my favorites so far." What's next for Sarover and Kal? Fans will have to tune in to find out.

Star of Amazon Prime's most violent series shares emotional post ahead of finale
Antony Starr has bid an emotional farewell to Homelander ahead of the fifth and final season of the Boys. The hit Amazon Prime Video series first hit our screens in 2019, introducing us to the abusive, bloodsoaked and brutal superheroes – aka Supes – working for a powerful company, and the gang of vigilantes hoping to bring them down. Jack Quaid, Jessie T Usher, Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso and Simon Pegg are also among the star-studded cast. The show became a huge hit and landed a string of Emmy nominations, spawning spin-off series Gen V, which focuses on young Supes attending Godolkin University to hone their powers. It was previously announced that the upcoming season would be the final outing for the gang, and Antony has shared a heartfelt message on social media after production officially wrapped. Taking to Instagram with a string of photos from his time as the head of the Supes, the 49-year-old began a lengthy post: 'Ok. Been waiting a little to let things settle and try and process the end of this show. 'Difficult (for me) to put into words what an incredible ride this has been. How much life and growth has occurred. How amazing the team is. It's truly been the highlight of my career. 'When we began, I had no idea what was coming. This juggernaut left the station and never stopped. Except for that Covid moment. Oh and the strikes. That was a thing too. But apart from those two times, it never stopped, boldly making its mark on the television landscape. There's nothing else like it. It lives in its own lane. 'And at the end of the shoot, all there really is to say is – thank you. The incredible Canadian crew. The amazing production team. The insanely talented cast. 'The people at Amazon and Sony that took a chance on this insane thing (and made the great choice in casting me) and all the other people that contributed in some way, big or small, to this beautiful, complex, warped, delicious show.' 'I love this show. And I love this character. Truly,' he continued. 'I will dearly miss heading to work, knowing what we were aiming for but never knowing where we would find ourselves by the end of the day…only that we would have fun and it would be creatively rewarding in the extreme. 'This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience. 'And of course huge gratitude to my co-parent with this twisted gem of a character – @erickripke1. We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you. Til we roll out the last season. When I'll see you. 'But this creative chapter is closed , and I'll miss it, brother.' 'And finally – massive thank you to the fans. You are the life blood. Without you, we don't get to do this. And our fans are second to none. Mad love to you….and deepest respect for your taste ;),' he added. 'Okidoke people. We cooked for the last time. Can't wait to show you what we made. TIL that day, Homelander, signing off. Xo.' Starlight actress Erin agreed: 'A gift to get to watch your masterclass in acting, let alone boogie w you during it.' A-Train's Jessie penned: 'You did a damn good job as Homelander.' 'The best villain played by the best actor! You inspire me so much, looking forward to your next iconic role, we love you and we will support you forever,' fan Elsie Bunny commented. As Dynasty Reyes added: 'You are literally the best person to play Homelander. You've brought him to life in a way I thought no actor could but you just proved how amazing and talented you are! More Trending 'This is such an incredible show and cast. I love how you all were able to bring your characters to life and play them so well.' The Boys became an instant hit when it arrived on Amazon Prime Video in 2019, leaving fans reeling with gory fights, graphic deaths and an unforgettable octopus sex scene. It has not yet been confirmed when Homelander, Starlight and co will hit our screens for the final time, but season two of Gen V will be premiering on September 17, so we can get our Supe fix.
