Recruiting: Auburn among final four schools for OL Jared Smith
What are the odds that Auburn football has two straight classes headlined by talented prospects named Jared Smith?
The unique scenario is one that Auburn could face as a four-star lineman from Georgia, Jared Smith, has listed Auburn as a finalist ahead of his commitment date. Should he sign with Hugh Freeze and the Tigers, it will mark the second-straight season that a player named Jared Smith has signed with Auburn, joining the four-star EDGE of the same name that inked with Auburn in 2025.

Smith, a senior offensive lineman from Woodland High School in Stockbridge, Georgia, announced this week that Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Rutgers are the final four schools that he will focus on, according to Hunter Shelton of On3. Auburn offered Smith in February, but he has yet to set an official visit according to 247Sports.
Georgia appears to be the program Auburn needs to beat for Smith's signature. Smith has visited Athens frequently, which has paved the way for relationships to be built with the Bulldogs' coaching staff. However, Auburn has time to wiggle its way to the forefront before his August commitment date.
Auburn has the No. 28 class in the 2026 cycle according to 247Sports with eight commitments. The Tigers have one offensive line commitment from this cycle, three-star Parker Pritchett from Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia.

Michigan State makes top 4 for 3-star OT Quinn Buckey ahead of commitment on Friday Michigan State has been named one of four finalists for a three-star offensive lineman prospect set to announce his college decision on Friday. Quinn Buckey of Bakersfield, Calif. revealed his top four schools this week, with Michigan State making the cut. According to Buckey's post on social media platform X, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Arizona and UCLA are the four finalists he is considering at this time. Buckey will officially announce his college commitment on Friday. Buckey is a three-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 87 on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 75 offensive tackle in 247Sports' composite rankings. He is also listed as the No. 76 player from California and No. 879 overall prospect in the class. Michigan State hosted Buckey for an official visit in April and has been in the mix for his commitment for quite some time. However, Vanderbilt is currently projected to land his commitment per 247Sports. So we will have to see if the Spartans can make a final push to persuade him to end up in East Lansing, Mich. instead of down in SEC country. Florida basketball to face Duke Blue Devils in 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge
Florida basketball to face Duke Blue Devils in 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge NEWS: Matchups are set for the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge, per sources. UF @ Duke UNC @ UK UVA @ Texas NC St @ Auburn Clemson @ Bama LVille @ Ark OU @ Wake SMU @ Vandy A&M @ Pitt Miss St @ GT Miami @ Ole Miss LSU @ BC VT@SC Tenn @ Cuse Mizzou @ ND UGA @ FSUhttps:// — Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) June 11, 2025 The Florida Gators are set to face the Duke Blue Devils in a marquee matchup during the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge, according to a report from CBS Sports insider Jon Rothstein. The highly anticipated matchup between two of college basketball's premier brands will take place in Durham, North Carolina, as part of the annual conference showdown. The 2025 edition features several headline-grabbing matchups, but few are bigger than the Gators traveling to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on Duke. This will mark Florida's first matchup against the Blue Devils since 2017, when the Orange and Blue were defeated in an 87-84 nail-biter. Some of the leading scorers from that game include Florida's Jalen Hudson (24 points) and Marvin Bagley III (30 points) from Duke's side. Florida and Duke have met 16 times dating back to their first matchup on Feb. 26, 1932, with the Gators winning just three of those contests against the powerhouse Blue Devils. The ACC/SEC Challenge has quickly become a staple of the nonconference schedule, offering fans high-stakes showdowns before conference play begins. For Florida, the road test presents an early opportunity for Todd Golden to get his players prepared for what's expected to be a grueling road to another championship run. The Gators are bringing back a strong core from last year's national championship team, including elite guard play and one of the top transfer classes in the country. Duke, meanwhile, continues to reload with top-tier recruiting talent. Other notable matchups in the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge include North Carolina at Kentucky, Clemson at Alabama, NC State at Auburn, Virginia at Texas and Louisville at Arkansas. Tip-off times and television assignments for the Florida-Duke game will be announced at a later date.
