Amit shah says BJP will form government in kerala after 2026 election and urges workers to win local body polls
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Home Minister
Amit Shah
said here on Saturday that the presence of the
BJP
has significantly improved in
Kerala
and that the party would form the govt in the state after the 2026 assembly election.
Shah urged party workers to work hard so that the NDA wins over 20,000 seats in the upcoming local body elections by improving the vote share to 25 percent.
Addressing party workers at the ward-level leadership meet at Putharikandam Maidan, Shah stated that the BJP has established its presence in all booths in Kerala. "All should work hard to win 21,000 seats and 25 percent votes in the local body election.
If people in Kerala want development, they have only one choice, that is the BJP.
People should stop the earlier practice of voting against the LDF and UDF in turns," Shah said. He said the vote share of BJP was 11 percent in 2014 and it increased to 16 per cent in 2019 and it touched 20 percent in 2024 Lok Sabha election.
Amit Shah mentioned that both the LDF and UDF had their own share of corruption whenever they came to power. However, the NDA govt led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced no corruption charges.

Shah said the gold smuggling was the biggest corruption sponsored by any state govt in the country.
"A developed India is not possible unless South Indian states develop. Also. the developement of Kerala is not possible without BJP," Shah said, adding that the BJP would wrest power in
Tamil Nadu
in the upcoming assembly election.
Amit Shah asserted that the BJP was not a North Indian party as claimed by political opponents. The BJP has won and formed the govt in Assam.
The BJP has wrested power from the CPM in Tripura. It also came to power in Odisha. "Opponents always used to dismiss the BJP's efforts to form the govt in these states. But the BJP proved them wrong. After the 2026 assembly election, the BJP-led NDA would form the govt in Kerala too," Amit Shah said.
Amit Shah, who accused the LDF and UDF of practicing communal and appeasement politics, said the CPM-led LDF govt in Kerala did nothing to stop the emergence of the PFI as an anti national force.
"It was the Narendra Modi govt that banned the PFI when it started spreading its presence in other states, posing threat to the country. This PFI is still alive in Kerala in different forms. The CPM should clarify what action the LDF govt has taken against this communal terror group," he said.
Shah stated that the BJP considers the welfare of the country above the welfare of its own cadres, but for the CPM, the focus was always on the welfare of their own cadres.
Shah said Kerala was reduced to a hub of corruption, appeasement, violence, and anti-national activities under the successive rule of the LDF and UDF.
Narendra Modi declared adherence to three principles: corruption-free governance, non-discriminatory governance, and the end of vote-bank politics. Kerala too can move ahead on the path of development only by adhering to the principles to which Modi and his govt adhere, Shah said. He inaugurated the leadership meet after inaugurating the new BJP state office.

Needs to be ascertained further why engines of AI flight 171 shut down after take off: Rudy
'The report says when the aircraft crashed, the switches were in the run position, which means the switches were on. There are some preliminary evidence that indicates that the pilots may have noticed the engine power declining. It appears that both engines had flamed out, which in common parlance means the engines had stopped,' he said. Talking to reporters here, Rudy, himself a commercial pilot, said a preliminary report of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), released on Saturday, has pointed out that when the plane crashed, the fuel switches were in the 'run' position, which means they were on. New Delhi, Jul 12 (PTI) There is a need to further ascertain why the engines of the Air India flight 171 shut down soon after the plane took off, BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy said on Saturday, noting that the pilots might have turned the fuel switches off and on within a fraction of a second to re-start the engines after they flamed out. 'We know what happened, but we still need to find out if at all both the engines had flamed out…,' he said, adding, 'The RAT (Ram Air Turbine) had been deployed and the auxiliary power unit had automatically re-started the engines. It is ample indication that the engines had lost power.' Rudy, however, said even though he is a pilot, his comments should not be taken as an expert opinion. 'I am a seventh-term MP and my profession is politics,' he said, The AAIB report said seconds before Air India flight 171 crashed while ascending from Ahmedabad on June 12, the fuel control switches of both its engines were cut off, suggesting a catastrophic pilot error in the cockpit of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The Airlines Pilots Association of India has raised issues with the report and alleged that the investigation is 'shrouded in secrecy', appears to be biased against the pilots and has come to a conclusion hastily. Asked if there was any possibility of human error, Rudy told PTI Videos that the pilots, who were 'well-experienced and qualified' to fly, took 'corrective actions' to re-start the engines but unfortunately, the plane still crashed because there was not enough height and speed for both engines to relight, and there were also obstructions due to buildings. The BJP leader said one of the engines restarted due to the pilots' efforts but the other continued to struggle. Asked if the cockpit audio suggests some kind of confusion and miscommunication between the two pilots, he said, 'Absolutely wrong.' 'It is a call and a confirmation which the captain has sought from the other. There was no pilot confusion. I would appreciate the action on the part of the senior commanders who initiated the re-start of the engine within a span of 30 seconds by flicking the fuel-control switches,' Rudy said. 'Why the engines shut down is a matter of analysis,' he added. According to a chronology laid out in the AAIB report, both the fuel cut-off switches moved from RUN to CUTOFF one second apart, almost immediately after takeoff. A RAT pump was deployed to supply hydraulic power as both engines fell below the minimum idle rate. About 10 seconds later, the first engine's fuel cut-off switch moved to its so-called RUN position, followed by the second engine four seconds later. The pilots managed to relight both engines, but only the first one recovered, while the second failed to build up enough power again to reverse deceleration. One of the pilots issued a 'Mayday, Mayday, Mayday' distress call, but before air-traffic controllers could get a response regarding what had gone wrong, the plane crashed just outside the Ahmedabad airport boundary, having grazed some trees before plunging into a hostel packed with students. The group includes Saurabh Rathore, the alleged gang leader, and several associates, including Shivam Rathore, Akash Rathore, Vishal Rathore alias Bhura, Lalu Patel alias Shivraj, and Santosh Sahu. Among those booked is Tinkoo Rathore, the nephew of senior BJP leader Girdhari Pappu, whose wife, Rekha Arya, is an Uttarakhand minister. Bareilly (UP), Jul 12 (PTI) Seven individuals, including a relative of an Uttarakhand cabinet minister's husband, were held under the Gangster Act, for allegedly being involved in a shootout incident, officials said on Saturday. 'Considering the criminal tendencies and records of the gang, a case was registered under the Gangster Act on July 9 after obtaining approval from the SP Crime and the SSP,' Baradari Police Station SHO Dhananjay Kumar Pandey said. The incident occurred on December 9, 2024, in Jogi Nawada, within the Baradari Police Station area. A personal rivalry led Saurabh Rathore and his associates to allegedly open fire on Lakhan Rathore and Prempal Rathore, who were hospitalised for several days following the attack. Following the shootout, the police registered an FIR against Saurabh and his accomplices under relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Rathore (27) has a history of nine cases, including attempted murder, illegal possession of weapons, assault, and rioting, police sources said. The decision to invoke the Gangster Act was made after a thorough review of the gang's criminal record and nature, with approval from senior officials, SHO Pandey said. The police are currently investigating and are in the process of attaching the gang's illegally acquired assets as part of the ongoing investigation.
