The Bucs need to prove they are all in on 2025 by trading for Micah Parsons

Jason Licht is one of the best general managers in football. He is always active in free agency and the trade market, but there is one more move he could make that would prove the Bucs are all in on the 2025 season.
Trading for Micah Parsons would have the Bucs ready to compete for a Super Bowl in 2025.
The trade for Parsons would require a gold rush of talent and picks to be sent to the Cowboys to have them consider the move likely. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones told fans not to worry about a trade happening, but could Licht send him an offer that is too hard to pass up?
Doing so would give the Bucs defense an instant star and centerpiece to build around, alongside the likes of Vita Vea, Antoine Winfield Jr., and Calijah Kancey.
With Parsons being just one of the talented pass rushers on the trade block, officially or unofficially, there are moves to be made. Jason Licht just has to go out there and make one happen.

Broncos' Sean Payton makes brass Bo Nix prediction for ‘next two years'

Everyone needs a boss to believe in them and Bo Nix certainly does. Broncos head coach Sean Payton has trust in his young quarterback — a lot of it. 'He's going to be one of the top four or five quarterbacks in the league the next two years,' Payton said in an interview with Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson. 'That's what we're seeing right now. He doesn't take sacks. He's got exceptional arm strength. … He threw the longest ball — (67) air yards against Cincinnati. He can run. He can throw in funny body angles.' 3 Bo Nix and Sean Payton talk at Broncos minicamp in June. AP Nix showed some tremendous flashes as a rookie, finishing his 17 games with 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, adding 430 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, too. In college, Nix spent three seasons at Auburn and two with Oregon. His final season with the Ducks was when he truly exploded to stardom, as he threw for 45 touchdowns with just three interceptions en route to a third-place Heisman Trophy finish. Nix led the nation in completions and completion percentage at 364 and 77.4, respectively. While he was the 12th pick in the 2024 draft, there were still five other quarterbacks taken ahead of him — Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix and JJ McCarthy. 3 Bo Nix is looking for a second-year leap this upcoming season after a promising rookie campaign. Charles Wenzelberg / New York Post Payton seems to believe he'll be the best of all of them. Nix was the second-most successful rookie of the bunch last season, leading the Broncos to a 10-7 record and a playoff berth, a better outcome than any rookie quarterback and their team aside from Daniels and the Commanders. Led by the 25-year-old quarterback, Payton has high hopes for the entire team, not just Nix. 3 Sean Payton is entering his third season as the Broncos' head coach. AP 'The short-term goal is winning the division,' he said. 'But this is a team capable of winning the Super Bowl. I've coached six teams that I thought could win the Super Bowl. Some went to championship games, some to the playoffs … This is my seventh team that I think has that.' Payton coached the Saints for 15 years and won one Super Bowl. He was the offensive mastermind who helped Drew Brees thrive as an all-time great quarterback.

NFL Analyst Bashes Jerry Jones' Approach With Micah Parsons

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. For the second year in a row, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in a standoff with one of their core pieces regarding a new contract. As things between Micah Parsons and the organization continue to escalate, one analyst did not hold back on his thoughts on Jerry Jones' approach. This ordeal stretches back months when Parsons first approached the Cowboys about an extension off of his rookie deal. The two sides seemed to be close to an agreement, which led to the star linebacker getting his agent involved. Since then, things have gone completely off the rails and become a worst-case scenario for Dallas. Parsons has remained a professional and stayed around the team in some capacity, but recently made his frustrations very public. In a long post on social media last week, he gave his thoughts on this ordeal while also telling the world he's requested a trade from the Cowboys. This led to many people giving their thoughts on the longtime owner's tactics. Among those who did not hold back when discussing Jones was FS1's Nick Wright. He dove into the situation on a recent episode of First Things First, dubbing his practices unethical. "Jerry feels like they had an agreement and he wants to stick to it. And I think that is an unethical way to do business," Wright said. "What I do not think is right is if a player does not think we are going to be talking about numbers and a contract. And then it comes up and he engages, to then be like alright, shook on it, you and I said deal's a deal. That is not Micah's expertise." Following his social media post, Jones gave his thoughts on the latest developments. He still expects the two sides to work things out, dismissing any notion that Dallas plans on honoring Parsons' request. As the Cowboys get ready to begin their preseason schedule, they have to deal with this very public back-and-forth hanging over their heads. Brian Schottenheimer's camp appearance labeled embarrassing for Cowboys' $12 billion sponsor

Brian Schottenheimer's camp appearance labeled embarrassing for Cowboys' $12 billion sponsor originally appeared on The Sporting News If the Dallas Cowboys aren't stirring up bad press, are they really making headlines? That seems to be the story lately, especially with the ongoing Micah Parsons contract drama. Parsons has dominated NFL chatter this week after the disgruntled linebacker made it clear on social media that he wants out of Dallas. But according to FS1's Colin Cowherd, Parsons might just be one piece of a bigger Cowboys problem. His latest gripe? Head coach Brian Schottenheimer's wardrobe. During Monday's press conference at Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, Schottenheimer addressed the media wearing his visor backward — and Cowherd couldn't let it slide. 'You know, I don't like backward hats. What's worse is a backward visor… That's a two-win team. I'm taking away four wins. That's awful. That's so bad,' Cowherd said. The longtime radio and TV host, notorious for his quirky takes on presentation and leadership, said Schottenheimer's look wasn't just a bad choice for him — it reflected poorly on the entire franchise. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp 'When you sit in front of a podium, you're representing the Cowboys. You're representing Bank of America. You're representing a $12 billion corporation. I think you gotta do better as a head coach than a visor backwards,' Cowherd said. This isn't Cowherd's first shot at Schottenheimer, either. Weeks ago, he predicted that the Cowboys would quickly regret the hire. 'Brian Schottenheimer is a one-and-done,' Cowherd said. 'Jerry will know by Thanksgiving he made a huge mistake. Forget the fact that Philadelphia and Washington will probably blow them out in the division twice. 'One and done' happens all the time now. 'I think Dallas is going to be humiliated on a lot of Sundays.' Hot takes are Cowherd's specialty, and this one fits the bill. But he's not entirely wrong that Schottenheimer was never a high-profile hire and wasn't on anyone else's radar. For a franchise already buried in controversy and scrutiny, even a backward visor is enough to fuel the fire.
