Beyond Paradise enthusiasts have detected a clever homage to Death in Paradise's detective Neville Parker, Ralf Little's character, in the spin-off's latest episode.
As the series gears up for its finale this Friday, fans are eager to see how the storyline surrounding characters Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) will play out.
The most recent instalment saw Detective Goodman embroiled in a challenging predicament during a skydiving episode. Initially, he was set to join Martha's mother, Anne (Barbara Flynn), who had to bow out last second due to a previous injury.

Never one to follow a straightforward path, Humphrey ended up not just diverging from his intended landing zone but also inadvertently incapacitating his skydiving instructor before dangling from a bridge by his parachute.
This mishap isn't new territory for Humphrey - in Beyond Paradise's first episode, he similarly found himself aloft, albeit from a tree that time, reports Devon Live.
During this sequence, a sharp-eyed fan cited by the Express noticed a nod to former sleuth Neville Parker.
A member of a Facebook fan group remarked, "Was it me or was there a little nod to Neville Parker and his utter fear of skydiving with Humphrey taking on the task?".
Supporting this observation, another fan added, "Yes, partly that and partly just Humphrey being Humphrey. Remember the first time he met Esther? Stuck up that tree."
One fan quipped: "Hanging off Tamar Bridge."
Ralf Little, known for his role as Neville Parker in Death in Paradise, exited the show last year. His character was replaced by Don Gilet, who took on the role of the new DI, Mervin Wilson.
Viewers will remember that Neville was a character plagued by fears and peculiar eating habits, only consuming chicken and chips.
The fate of Beyond Paradise's third series is still up in the air, but the summary for the upcoming Friday episode reads: "When nurse Lucy vanishes on her way to work, suspicion falls on Josh Woods - Kelby's rival.
"However, after Josh receives a chilling voicemail, the team starts to suspect that something far more sinister is at play. In the recording, Lucy can be heard shouting 'devil'' followed by a beastly growl.
"Could the legend of the Devil's Hump hold a vital clue to solving her disappearance? As the case intensifies, Humphrey finds himself torn between the personal and professional. With Rosie's birthday fast approaching, he and Martha are determined to throw her the perfect party."

Game of Thrones legend lands huge role in new period drama about beloved figure

The Game of Thrones icon is set to grace screens once again with a major role in a new star-studded period drama. Acclaimed actor Sean Bean, renowned for his performances in Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and This City Is Ours, is poised to headline a brand new period drama. ‌ MGM+ today revealed a first glimpse of the forthcoming series Robin Hood, which will premiere later this year. ‌ The ten-part inaugural season, offering a fresh take on the English folk hero's tale, features Bean as the intimidating Sheriff of Nottingham opposite Gladiator star Connie Nielsen as Eleanor of Aquitaine. ‌ The preview image from the new programme provides "a glimpse at the tense rivalries and high-stakes power struggles at the heart of this reimagined take on the legendary tale". Robin Hood, helmed by showrunner John Glenn and producer/director Jonathan English, has been characterised by MGM+ as "a smart, sweeping, romantic adventure that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian to the beloved story." Rising star Jack Patten will take on the titular role, whilst Hollyoaks actress Lauren McQueen will portray Marian, reports the Express. The cast also includes Lydia Peckham (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Steven Waddington (The Trap), Marcus Fraser (Foundation), Angus Castle-Doughty (Shadow and Bone) and social media sensation Henry Rowley. The debut image from Robin Hood shows Nielsen adorned in an exquisite blue gown, a cape and a golden crown. ‌ Bean's appearance, meanwhile, harks back to his stint as Ned Stark in Game of Thrones. The duo are seen hand in hand, navigating through what seems to be a castle room lit by candles, with servants poised attentively behind them. There have been numerous memorable renditions of the Robin Hood tale over time, including Errol Flynn's iconic portrayal in 1938's The Adventures of Robin Hood. Cinema enthusiasts will also recall Kevin Costner and Alan Rickman's performances in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Other unforgettable films featuring the character include 1976's Robin and Marian, starring Hollywood greats Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn, and Disney's animated classic Robin Hood from 1973. The 2025 series Robin Hood is yet to announce a release date, but it's expected to premiere later this year on MGM+ in the U.K., Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Fraud probe launched after 'woman scams dozens out of Oasis tickets'

A fraud investigation has been launched after an Edinburgh woman allegedly scammed dozens of people out of Oasis tickets. The Gallagher brothers made their highly anticipated return to Scotland with three sold-out shows at Murrayfield on Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday. Around 70,000 fans were at Murrayfield each night to see the Manchester band perform classics such as Don't Look Back in Anger and Slide Away. However, police are investigating allegations that a woman in East Lothian failed to deliver gold-dust tickets promised to around 60 desperate fans, after many people claiming to be victims of the scam came together through a social media post. Official government data in June showed £1.6m was lost to fraud involving gig tickets last year – more than double the previous year's figure – and Oasis's high-profile reunion tour has been widely used to lure victims. Earlier this year, Lloyds Banking Group said more than 1,000 customers had fallen for scams linked to the Manchester band's eagerly anticipated UK concerts. Among them was Lori Cairney, from Edinburgh, who said her daughters were left 'devastated' after she decided to surprise them with tickets, She sent a woman in the area £500 for the tickets – only for them to never arrive. 'The woman had on her Snapchat story in mid-July that she had Oasis tickets for sale', she said. 'My partner and I kept asking, as we decided to surprise our daughters. 'We bought them T-shirts, etc, and they were both very excited. Two days before, I asked the woman why people were on social media saying she scammed them. 'She promised me she wouldn't do that and guarantee I would have the tickets by Friday. Saturday came. No tickets. My daughter is devastated.' Lara McEnaney also purchased tickets from the same woman for £340, but she did not hear from her on the day of the gig. 'I bought tickets on July 14, two standing tickets which cost £340,' she said. 'Before sending the money, I asked if she could quickly FaceTime for two minutes just so I could see her face matched up with her profile, which it did. She asked me if I could do it through PayPal which thankfully I did. 'She seemed really genuine, and I thought no way would this lady scam me because I could see her business account, etc, on Facebook. 'I messaged her August 6 asking about the tickets, and she sent me a pic of her leg on a hospital bed…she told me she was in the hospital and that her husband would transfer over the tickets later that night. 'I kept checking my emails, absolutely nothing I then messaged her the next morning, she told me she was having a procedure and she had a friend who worked at Ticketmaster who was going to help push through the transfer. 'On the day of Oasis, she never messaged me for a while. She then messaged me around 12.30pm to say she had been dealing with police because a woman was slamming her on Facebook and sending death threats. 'I then searched her name on Facebook and saw the post. I then confronted her, and she asked me how she could scam me because I had paid through PayPal, and there were plenty of tickets left on Viagogo. Lara said she is claiming a refund through PayPal, and even managed to get last-minute tickets through the resale platform. 'I was absolutely gutted however, I went on Viagogo and managed to get restricted view tickets which cost me £450,' she added. 'There was a lovely steward who I spoke to and she actually let us in the gold circle. 'Our day went from bad to good as we were so close to the stage. However, many people never got to see Oasis due to her actions.' Police Scotland has confirmed a fraud investigation was launched into the complaints and is in its 'early stages'. A spokesperson said: 'On Saturday, August 9, 2025 we received a report of fraud in the Edinburgh area. 'Enquiries are at an early stage.'
