Coronation Street star to return - and she's already back filming
The star, 29, has played Bethany Platt on the ITV soap across two stints for the last decade, but has been on leave since February.
This was to coincide with Lucy's maternity leave, as she's now mum to her second child – a little girl called Nancy Margaret.
After spending a number of years working as a journalist in London, Bethany returned to the cobbles on New Year's Eve 2023.
She took no time at all in reconnecting with old flame Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), and was instantly projected into a number of huge storylines.
Bethany came face to face with her abuser Nathan Curtis (Christopher Parker) when he was released from prison, and later in the year underwent botched plastic surgery in Turkey – a storyline that Metro exclusively revealed.
She was left needing a permanent stoma bag after she developed sepsis during her operation.
On Christmas Day, Daniel proposed to Bethany, which she gladly accepted, unaware that his ex-girlfriend Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) had just found out she was pregnant.
With Daisy and Daniel having had a one night stand a few weeks earlier, there was every possibility that the baby was Daniel's. Of course, with this being Corrie, it didn't take long for the secret to be exposed.
Amid the animosity, Bethany was exploring a new role in the capital and decided to leave without him.
In April, a Coronation Street spokesperson has since confirmed to Metro that 'Lucy will be returning to filming in the summer after maternity leave, as always planned', and that 'Bethany will be back on screen in October'. More Trending
This was following rumours that the actress had quit the long-running serial.
Now, Lucy has taken to Instagram to reveal that she's back on set, posing for a photo in her dressing room.
'And just like that she's back,' the star wrote.

ITV star Martin Lewis makes his acting debut as beloved BBC comedy returns tonight
Motherland star Diane Morgan returns tonight as her alter-ego Mandy Carter, in hilarious 15-minute comedy shorts about a woman who just can't hold down a job - however, there's one particular guest star who fans may be surprised to see. Tonight's (Monday 21 July) series four debut will see ITV star Martin Lewis make his acting debut in the BBC comedy, which sees Diane look for a new career. Back at the employment centre, Mandy confesses she only managed to last 40 minutes in her latest gig as a dog food taster, but she did walk off with some (stolen) freebies. It's one sacking too many, so Mandy is put on a 'restart scheme' to get her back to work, which involves a cringey meeting in a town hall. Everyone says her image is part of the problem, so poor Mandy tries to shop for a new look, but the staff don't even want her in the shop. Later, minding the desk at her friend's nail salon, Mandy runs into her high school nemesis. Look out for guest stars including ex- EastEnder Cheryl Fergison, Car Share's Sian Gibson and even money saver Martin Lewis! Mandy airs tonight at 10pm on BBC Two. The best of the rest Female Fishermen: Beyond the Buoys When it comes to male-dominated careers, fishing has to be near the top of the list – of the 10,000 fishermen currently working in Britain, only 1% of them are female. But the tide is turning. An increasing number of young women are discovering this profession, and many believe female recruits could revitalise a flailing industry. Brooke is only 20 years old, and enjoys going out on the boat, even though she's not a morning person. Alongside her work as a nail technician, she also makes a living hauling in shellfish off the Isle of Skye, and has been nominated for a prestigious industry award. Over on the West Highlands, we meet Erin, who spends a fortnight at a time battling the dangerous conditions of the North Atlantic to bring home delicious prawns. She admits that it can be tough sharing cabins with men and coping with rough seas, but she loves seeing the world from the water. Meanwhile, Emma skippers her own creel boat after following in her father's footsteps. She has proved herself (winning the same award Brooke is nominated for), but her proud dad admits that women face significant prejudice in the industry, with many fishermen not ready to accept this could be a woman's world. Brooke faced similar attitudes, but was determined to prove her doubters wrong. Erin reflects on the declining numbers of young people going into the business, and explains people need to accept women if they want fishing to thrive in the UK. Female Fisherman: Beyond the Buoys airs at 7pm tonight on BBC One. Human So many natural history programmes give us insights into other species, but this landmark series reveals the fascinating secrets of our own. Incredible advances in DNA mean that we now understand that all humans alive today who do not have African origins, descend from a small group of Homo sapiens, who migrated to the Middle East. They were the first group to leave Africa, and proved incredibly successful in their quest for survival. Paleoanthropologist Ella Al-Shamahi explains how these humans managed to travel to Sri Lanka and make a home in the inhospitable rainforests there, hunting monkeys with hastily fashioned bone arrowheads. Ella also visits the Indonesian Island of Flores to introduce us to a species of human affectionately known as the 'hobbits', because of their likeness to the petite heroes of Lord of the Rings. How did this small but mighty species evolve and why did it fail to survive? Human airs at 9pm tonight on BBC Two. Ulrika Jonsson, 57, slams trolls for ageist comments over podcast appearance
Ulrika Jonsson took aim at trolls who criticised her appearance following a recent podcast as she also explained why she didn't wear make-up Ulrika Jonsson has slammed trolls who targeted her following a recent podcast appearance. The TV presenter, 57, took aim at the trolls who criticised her appearance recently and called them out for their "nasy comments". It came after the former model appeared on Spencer Matthews' Untapped Podcast, which is also filmed for fans to watch. Ulrika took to Instagram at the weekend to shut down any bad mouthing and had a stern message for those taking aim at her. Ulrika explained in her lengthy post that, while she also had positive comments, some viewers felt the need to call her out on her "over-tanned" and "ageing" appearance. But the star wasn't prepared to let them away with it and explained the reasoning behind her look. After sharing a snap of her blowing a kiss to the camera, she wrote: "I feel I need to address something. I don't get a lot of nasty comments - or if I do, I don't see them or send people love in response. "But a couple of weeks ago I took part in a fab podcast @ to discuss my sobriety with the smart @spencermatthews. I wore no make-up. Partly because I kinda forgot that a project for the ears is nowadays also a feast for the eyes. "But as someone who has had to wear heavy make-up on screen from 5am for years, I'm not a fan." She also confessed to have suffered from eczema as a child, in particularly on her body in the creases of her arms and legs. She also said she had it on her face. Therefore, make-up was "agony" to wear."There were a lot of positive comments about the WORDS I said on the podcast," she continued. "But a considerable amount about my tanned appearance. AND how OLD I look."In a few weeks I will be 58. I will never look like the fresh 21yr old that used to greet you first thing in the morning by the weather board." She also admitted she isn't ashamed to be "a sun worshipper" and knows she is likely to "pay the price" for that. But she also said that her uneven pigmentation also won't be helped by ageing. In a candid confession, Ulrika revealed she uses filters on her pictures on occasion as it's easier than applying makeup. However, she also said she works tirelessly in her garden all year round, which often means she is in the sun. She went on: "I rarely sunbathe any more. Haven't had a sunbed for 6 months - which I do occasionally in winter months. Not ashamed. I have not had a holiday - of any kind - since 2018. That's 7yrs."So, I understand that an over-tanned, imperfect and AGEING face offends you. But try to listen to the words rather than constantly judge women's appearance. You might learn something." And in a defiant sign-off message, she concluded: "And making people feel s*** doesn't make you a hero." While she turned off the comments on the post, Ulrika was met with appreciation from over 20,000 followers hitting the like button. Among them were Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt and Celebs Go Dating's Anna Williamson. Ulrika had been open on the podcast about how sex has become 'interesting' since she stopped drinking alcohol 13 months ago. She revealed how she felt going sober could impact her sex life, but revealed it has helped. And she revealed how not drinking on dates has changed her outlook: "Not having a drink and going on a date, it's hard - it's really hard because people are not as attractive," she said before adding that after drink "you just become a little bit more available I guess - it is easier."

Dame Joanna Lumley has thrown her support behind the assisted dying Bill
Actress Dame Joanna Lumley has said she 'wouldn't mind' undergoing assisted dying if she reached a 'miserable' state where she was unable to talk or eat without help. The 79-year-old said she supported the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, which was backed by MPs in the Commons last month, that would allow terminally ill adults with fewer than six months to live to apply for an assisted death. Asked about the Bill in an interview with Saga Magazine, Dame Joanna said: 'People are terribly anxious about it and think one may be coerced (into voluntary euthanasia). 'But I'm saying this now when nobody's coercing me, don't let me turn into somebody who doesn't recognise the people I love most, where I'm having a miserable time. PA Media 'When I get to the stage where I can't speak and have to be fed, that won't be me any more and that's when I wouldn't mind saying farewell.' The Bill would see those wishing to go through assisted dying require approval by two doctors and a panel featuring a social worker, senior legal figure and psychiatrist. It will next come before the House of Lords for further debate and votes. One of the Bill's most high-profile backers has been TV presenter Dame Esther Rantzen, 85, who has terminal cancer, and recently urged members of the House of Lords not to block the legislation. Dame Joanna is best known for her roles as Patsy Stone in the BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, Sapphire in ITV supernatural series Sapphire And Steel, and in The New Avengers, the 1970s revamped version of 1960s ITV spy series The Avengers. She will appear in season two of Netflix supernatural series Wednesday as Grandmama in August.
