Paramount+ With Showtime has renewed Yellowjackets for Season 4, the cable network announced Tuesday.

'Yellowjackets has become a cultural juggernaut; with Season 3 shattering all previous records, we are thrilled to announce its renewal for a Season 4 on Paramount+,' Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said via statement. '[Series co-creators] Ashley [Lyle] and Bart [Nickerson] have masterfully crafted an utterly singular, genre-defying phenomenon: a perfect alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming-of-age drama that continues to captivate audiences worldwide, brought to life by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast.'
According to the network, the Season 3 finale (which dropped April 13) was the most-streamed episode in the series' run so far. The hour brought the stranded teens' story to the point where we first met them: the hunt in the woods that kicked off the series' premiere. It revealed that the girl who died in the pit was Mari (who later was eaten by her cannibalistic teammates) and that the Antler Queen was Shauna.

The episode ended with Natalie taking the newly fixed radio to the top of a hill and making contact with the outside world, hinting that the girls' sojourn in the wild might soon come to a close. (Read a full finale recap here.)
