A Kerala-based company has now been given the task of conducting the forensic audit and the govt will formally sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a couple of days. The govt may set a time frame of about three months to complete the audit.
"The state govt has decided to conduct a forensic audit of land, especially for suspicious transactions done during BRS govt. An agency was picked after considering two to three firms with experience in land record management.
The govt will release full details on the audit in a couple of days," revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy told TOI on Thursday.
The govt will provide data on govt and prohibited land in the specified districts before 2014 and later to the agency, which will also look into transactions through the Dharani portal from its inception in Oct 2020 until Dec 2023. The firm will investigate if there was any tampering of land records, place, and time of the suspected illegal land transactions.
The forensic audit can be done via digital footprint and blockchain technology, but it was not clear which one will be used by the firm. A digital footprint, also known as a digital fingerprint or digital dossier, is the data a person generates when using the internet for any type of activity linked to that person's individual identity. This encompasses the entire online activity, both via and outside of the person's accounts, IP addresses, and transaction history on devices connected to the internet.

Chief minister A Revanth Reddy and revenue minister Srinivas Reddy have alleged that govt land was illegally mutated and transferred by tampering with records during BRS govt since 2014, especially after the Dharani land portal was launched in Oct 2020. The CM had alleged that some transactions were done through the Dharani portal even during midnights and from outside the country too.
As per the state govt estimates, about 2,000 acres of govt land in HMDA and surrounding areas changed ownership to private parties as patta land. Along with this, some people, especially politicians, applied for regularisation scheme under encroached govt land (GO 59) and had it transferred in their name.

Nexus with contractors? GDA set to transfer 76 supervisors
Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is set to transfer 76 supervisors following persistent complaints of collusion with contractors in facilitating illegal construction. Residents also allege that supervisors, working in tandem with private builders, demand hefty sums to overlook unauthorised floors. GDA has around 200 supervisors in the seven zones under it, but its manual does not specify a maximum tenure for postings before an employee can be shifted. Many of the supervisors on the list have been posted in the same zone for more than five years. Officials admitted that supervisors posted in the same zones for years had formed "unholy alliances" with local realtors, and said the reshuffle aimed to curb the spread of illegal colonies, which have risen from 321 in 2021 to 351, occupying around 3,000 acres. Supervisors are also tasked with checking the quality of construction materials and ensuring that all work is carried out in line with the approved plan. However, their nexus with contractors runs deep. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like A Teaspoon Before Bed Burns Body Fat - Fit Into Your Clothes Again! Health & Family Click Here Undo A Vaishali resident told TOI, a contractor allegedly sought Rs 40,000 on behalf of a GDA official to allow his family to construct an additional floor in their two-storey flat. "We hired a private contractor, prepared a cost estimate, and even had construction material delivered," he said. But that evening, a GDA supervisor reached their house and warned the family that the work violated regulations. Unsure how to proceed, the family considered abandoning the plan. "But the contractor assured me it could be 'managed' for Rs 40,000. Construction went ahead without further interference. Only later did I realise the nexus between contractors and supervisors," he added. According to a GDA official, despite checks and balances, illegal construction has been unabated in the city. "We deduced that many of the supervisors are working in the same zone for years and have developed a nexus with contractors, allowing illegal construction. This nexus needs to be broken, for which GDA has prepared a list of 76 supervisors who will be transferred to other zones." GHMC to implement flood mitigation measures in low-lying areas
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has invited agencies to prepare detailed project reports and draw up comprehensive plans to tackle the problem of inundation in low-lying areas of Ameerpet during the monsoon. The move comes days after chief minister A Revanth Reddy's assurance to residents of these areas that the govt would take urgent steps to address the issue. The civic body has invited agencies to conduct a rainfall intensity survey and study the discharge and sewerage networks in several colonies of Ameerpet. This includes the major drain running from Krishnakath Park to Buddhanagar via Madhuranagar, Harsha Mess, Maitrivanam, Aditya Trade Centre, Satyam Theatre and Gangubaibasthi. GHMC has asked agencies to utilise the latest national and international techniques for the effective completion of the works for the stormwater drain network to remove inundations during heavy rains. Consultant firms were told to prepare a detailed plan and cost estimates as per bid documents. In order to prevent and mitigate the consequences of flooding in the future and minimise the damages to properties, a comprehensive stormwater drain network is needed. The works proposed to be taken up are of high priority, targeting primarily to permanently address the hardships experienced by the people in those localities. The focus will be on the prevention of encroachments on drains, followed by homes, businesses, and roads," said an official in GHMC's engineering wing. GIS mapping of stormwater drains In an effort to enhance urban flood management and improve stormwater infrastructure, the GHMC embarked on plans to implement a GIS-based survey and mapping of stormwater drains within its limits. The geomapping of stormwater drains entails the digital mapping of the entire stormwater drain network utilising GIS technology, based on high-accuracy base maps generated through drone surveys. The exercise will capture precise locations, dimensions, and connectivity data of all drain lines, culverts, and catch pits, linking them with geospatial coordinates. This data will contribute to the preparation of a comprehensive stormwater drain master plan. Visual maps generated through the project will be shared with communities to increase awareness of local drainage systems and encourage citizen participation in reporting issues, officials added. SFJ threatens CM Mann; Khalistani graffiti found on Punjab MLA's house
Bhagwant Mann (File photo) BATHINDA: Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a US-based Khalistani outfit, has emailed several media persons threatening "political death" for Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann from Aug 31 - the day then Punjab CM Beant Singh was assassinated. Earlier, Sikhs for Justice chief and designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun had openly threatened to kill Mann and the Punjab DGP on Republic Day. In a related incident, pro-Khalistani graffiti was found painted on Mehal Kalan MLA Kulwant Pandori's house in Pandori village in Barnala Friday morning. The same threatening slogan was also found near the village bus stand. Officials later spray-painted the graffiti black to obscure it. "CCTV footage shows two men arriving on a motorbike around 3am on Aug 15. They painted the slogans quickly. A police complaint has already been filed," the MLA said. TNN
