Conor McGregor breaks silence after 'throwing punches' in Ibiza nightclub
Conor McGregor has broken his silence after a video surfaced showing what seems to be the ex-dual-weight UFC champ throwing punches in an Ibiza nightclub.
The alleged altercation occurred at Pacha nightclub early on Tuesday morning. The Sun released footage where McGregor is seemingly leaning over to speak to an unidentified man on the dance floor.
The man hit by what looks like a punch falls to the ground shortly afterwards. Almost immediately, several people close to McGregor step in to separate him from other partygoers, reports the Mirror.
Eyewitnesses have since described the scene. "Clearly something's been said to annoy him and he's reacted very badly. The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away," one onlooker recounted to The Sun.
"There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor, but the guy he punched was taken away, and I didn't see him again," the same person added, while another witness remarked: Someone approached them and when Conor struck him, about five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back.
"It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken by the hits. About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club, because he had annoyed Conor. It was right before close anyway. There was no messing around; they just removed him. Conor left through the garden a bit later; he didn't look very happy that they got into a fight."
McGregor, 36, has now spoken out for the first time since the alleged incident. The Dubliner took to his social media accounts with several updates.
On Wednesday evening, he shared on X - formerly known as Twitter - "You won't speak bad about my country and its people and that's ever. Vote McGregor."
Later on, the 'Notorious' shared multiple photos of himself on Instagram, including one with a group of lads and another where he's seen beneath an image of Al Pacino from the iconic 1983 movie Scarface. Earlier in the week, McGregor was spotted on the party island alongside TV star Katie Price.
Sporting a hat and shades, McGregor posed for a snap with Price and her mate Ryan Mira.
McGregor hasn't stepped into the octagon since his defeat to arch-rival Dustin Poirier in 2021. He was lined up for a UFC return last year against ex-Bellator lightweight champ Michael Chandler, but had to pull out due to an injury sustained during training.

Chelsee had gone to Manchester Crown Court today to watch Rainford's sentencing. Rainford's plea came just days after Chelsee was eliminated from Dancing on Ice. The Waterloo Road star had hinted that she was struggling following her exit from the hit ITV show. She said: "There has been a lot going on with me that I have been struggling with.' An insider also told The Sun the pair were no longer in a relationship. It can now be revealed that Rainford had previously been sentenced to six years for violent offences while serving with Royal Marines but was released in July 2022. The court heard he and Boyd, 28, supplied 'multi-kilos' of cannabis worth up to £45,000. Most read in Showbiz Gwen Henshaw, prosecuting, described it as 'boutique' operation that involved selling various varieties of the drug, including 'Cali weed', 'Oreo Cookies' and 'Orange Cake'. The pair had discussed drug deals, with police finding photos of large wads of cash. Rainford also told a potential customer the drugs were "decent bro". Chelsee had kept Rainford's identity a secret when they began dating in 2021. His first name was revealed following Cookie's birth in December 2023 when he was seen in the background of photos from their baby shower. Chelsee, who has another daughter Coco, previously told how their relationship was the "most supportive" she had ever been in. She added: "My friends and family love him, and he's the first bloke I've introduced Coco to, which says a lot. I knew he was 'The One' within three to four months. "I've kissed a few frogs, but he's definitely marriage material." In April, Chelsee returned to her role of Goldie McQueen in Hollyoaks after taking an extended break. 4 Rainford pleased guilty just days after Chelsee left Dancing on Ice Credit: Getty 4 The actress later opened up on her struggles Credit: instagram/chelseehealey

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Footage has emerged which appears to show former UFC world champion Conor McGregor throwing punches inside an Ibiza nightclub. The incident is alleged to have taken place at the Pacha nightclub on Tuesday morning. Earlier in the week, McGregor was seen on the party island with TV personality Katie Price. The Dubliner could be seen wearing a hat and sunglasses in a photo taken with Price and her friend Ryan Mira. Now, according to footage shared by The Sun and seen by the Mirror, McGregor can be seen appearing to peer down to address an unidentified man on the dancefloor. Moments later, he appears to throw two punches., connecting with the second. The individual falls to the floor moments after he seems to be struck by the second of two punches. The music playing at the club continues throughout. Moments later, individuals standing close to McGregor appear to get in between him and other revellers. Mirror Sport has approached McGregor's representatives for comment. McGregor has seen a number of UFC comebacks postponed in recent years. He last entered the Octagon in 2021, losing to Dustin Poirier in the third match of his trilogy with the American. He was scheduled to make a comeback in the sport in 2024, with Michael Chandler identified as his opponent. However, McGregor was forced to pull out after suffering a toe injury. "The fight that never happened, what could have been yeah. I would be lying to you if I didn't say that it was a tough moment, but overall, if people can look at their lives and realise that all the bad things that have happened to them usually work out for their good if they continue to stay diligent and work hard and believe," Chandler told Mirror Fighting in November 2024. "Every single bad thing in my life, every single setback in my life, every single loss in my life has always turned out to be a good thing at some point. You look back and say 'Okay I'm able to learn X, Y, and Z because of it. I was able to grow as a human being, I'm in a great spot'. "But during the process it was tough. Being the guy on the other side of the headlines with Conor McGregor is tough because he is so up and down and says a lot of things and he's always in the media. Then you've got the fans weighing in, the media weighing in, it was an interesting process but I handled it pretty darn well compared to how most would have. And I grew throughout the process."
