‘Wednesday' Season 2 Part 1: Is Wednesday Really Dead?
Wednesday season 2 part 1 has just dropped on Netflix and we may or may not have binged the first four hours in one sitting. And oh my god, we were not prepared for that major cliffhanger of an ending.
The new season reunites us with the Addams family, led by Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) as she returns for a second year at outcast school Nevermore Academy. As the term progresses she unmasks her stalker, fights to save Enid's (Emma Myers) life, loses her psychic powers, and investigates a terrible scheme going on at local psychiatric hospital Willow Hill.
And as episode four wraps up, we see Wednesday and Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) discover a secret bunker in Willow Hill called LOIS that has housed a number of outcasts believed to be dead, but instead they've actually been experimented on.
As Wednesday and Uncle Fester release them, Tyler the Hyde (Hunter Doohan) is also released and goes on a rampage to find Wednesday.
The episode ends with Tyler attacking Wednesday and throwing her out of a window, leaving her for dead. Wednesday can survive a lot, but could she be dead? Here's everything we know, ahead of the second drop of episodes in September.
As the episode ends, it seems that Wednesday really is close to death. Tyler has left her with significant injuries and quite literally threw her out of a window.
She then gives a voiceover essentially confirming her death, where she says: 'I've always dreamed of looking death in the face. But in my final moments, all I hear is my mother's words ringing in my ears. Maybe I have made things worse. Much worse.'
However, the show is literally called Wednesday and has already been renewed for a third season, so from a practical point of view it makes zero sense to kill the character Wednesday off.
And there's an ambulance on the way and we know her family has access to all kinds of powers that are likely to put a stop to death. We've also seen Wednesday overcome some pretty serious injuries in the past, so we have no doubt she's likely to make a full recovery.
The last time Wednesday was close to death, it was after Wednesday was stabbed by Miss Thornhill (Christina Ricci). However, her spirit guide Goody sacrificed herself at the end of season 1, saving her life. Maybe this is the time for someone from beyond the grave to come and save her?
We wouldn't be surprised, though, if we do get an episode told from Wednesday's point of view where she's temporarily exploring the underworld.
Either way, we're 98% sure Wednesday is still alive. We'll find out for sure on 3rd September when the second batch of episodes drop.

"Calibre" is completely bone-chilling, and I love it. Vaughn (Jack Lowden) and Marcus (Martin McCann) are two childhood best friends traveling to the remote Scottish Highlands for a weekend away. The duo plan to go hunting, but while roaming the forest for game, they make a terrible mistake, and the consequences of their actions spiral completely out of control. Yes, that's an extremely vague plot write-up, but I'm deliberately holding my cards close to the chest, because 'Calibre' is best enjoyed with as little known ahead of time (I would even recommend skipping the trailer). Watch "Calibre" on Netflix now 'The Perfection' is one of the most skin-crawling dark thrillers I've ever seen. And I mean that quite literally, there's a highly disturbing sequence where a character believes bugs are bursting out of her arm. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, in this warped trip that goes to several bleak and very gruesome places. It's not a thriller movie for the faint of heart. Charlotte Willmore (Allison Williams) is a gifted cellist who is forced to leave her prestigious music academy to care for her sick mother. Returning to the fold after her mother's death, Charlotte meets Lizzie (Logan Browning), another musical prodigy, who has effectively replaced her as the star pupil and personal favorite of Anton (Steven Weber), the school's head. What follows is a nightmare ordeal for both of them, but I won't spoil any more, as there are plenty of surprising twists to discover. Watch "The Perfection" on Netflix now One of Florence Pugh's most overlooked movies, 'The Wonder,' is a period thriller based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue. At its core is a compelling mystery, and as it progresses, the darker side of faith comes to the surface as Pugh's character, an English nurse named Elizabeth, struggles to convince the residents of a small Irish town that what they believe to be a miracle might not be quite what it seems. Elizabeth is sent to the rural village to monitor a young girl (Kíla Lord Cassidy) who, it is claimed, hasn't eaten in four months. Far from malnourished, the girl appears to be in good health and claims she is surviving by consuming 'manna from Heaven.' Despite her family's insistence that this is a miracle from above, Elizabeth seeks to discover the truth of the situation. County Durham priest enlists TV's Dec to give parish announcement
A County Durham Catholic priest has enlisted award-winning TV presenter Declan Donnelly to make a parish announcement. Fr Marc Lyden-Smith shared a video on Sunday (August 10) of Dec, seen without on-screen partner Ant, announcing the mass times for his Seaham and Houghton-le-Spring parishes. Parishioners of St Michael's in Houghton-le-Spring and St Mary Magdalen's in Seaham were met with the recognisable tone of the I'm a Celebrity host who began his notice with: "Hi, Dec here!" "Just to remind you that mass is at nine and 11 with this guy," he added before panning the camera to Fr Lyden-Smith. The clergyman is no stranger to the TV cameras himself, after starring in every season of Netflix show 'Sunderland 'Til I Die', the documentary chronicling the fall and rise of Sunderland AFC and his role of club chaplain. However, Fr Lyden-Smith did have to clarify in his post that the earlier mass time was in fact 9.30am and not 9am as was previously stated and posted the caption "Don't forget to come to mass!" alongside the video. The funny video attracted comments from members of the public, with some of the churches' parishioners saying how much they enjoyed the reminder.
