Watch Deion Sanders' reaction during crushing Shedeur 2025 NFL Draft moment

New York Post25-04-2025
Deion Sanders seemed disappointed over the Saints passing on his son, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
The Colorado coach shook his head when NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell announced Texas tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. as the No. 9 pick by the Saints.
Deion previously listed New Orleans as a potential landing spot for Shedeur, who wasn't drafted in the first round.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer then pointed his finger and appeared to signal for someone to turn the volume down on the draft and turn the music on at their draft party in Texas.
Shedeur, who was once a potential top-three prospect, was the wild card leading up to the draft.

Some NFL analysts predicted he would go off the board at No. 21 to the quarterback needy Steelers — who selected Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon.
Pittsburgh might be waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make decision about his playing future.
Shedeur slid out of the first round as the Giants traded up for Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart and the Saints and Steelers also passed.

ESPN showed Shedeur multiple times throughout the night as he slipped out of the first round.
Shedeur explained that it was 'fuel to the fire' in a speech at the end of the night.

'We all didn't expect this, of course,' Sanders said, according to a video posted to social media. 'But I feel like, with God, anything is possible. Everything is possible. I don't feel like this happened for no reason. All this is is, of course, fuel to the fire. We all know this shouldn't have happened.'
Shedeur was heavily scrutinized leading up to the draft.
Some execs and coaches gave anonymous testimonies about the quarterback acting 'brash' and 'entitled' during interviews and team visits.
Deion emphasized that his son was under a microscope because of his famous last name.

It's unclear if Shedeur will host another party for the second round on Friday.
The Browns, who have two early second-round picks, are the favorites to land Sanders now.

The Steelers don't have a second-round pick, using it to trade for star receiver DK Metcalf this offseason.
Sanders was the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year as a senior last fall, and he threw a school-record 64 touchdown passes over two seasons at Colorado.

Nick Wright suggests Bo Nix is the next Mac Jones

Nick Wright wants to be starting something. Speaking on his "What's Wright?" show, Nick Wright and Cowherd spent time talking about the latest happenings in the NFL. Wright spoke on his expectations for Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, and he made a, say, rather interesting comparison. Wright believes that former quarterback Mac Jones, who suffered a sharp decline after a solid rookie season, is a great comparison for Nix. A stretch? Maybe. But check the clip below to see what Wright said. Wright compared Nix's Pro Bowl alternate nod, Denver's 10 wins and the Broncos getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Buffalo Bills to Jones' rookie season, suggesting that Nix will now have a similar career outcome. I'd say Wright is off the mark for two reasons: 1) Nix has Sean Payton and 2) Mac Jones never had Sean Payton. With Payton ready to take the Broncos to the next level in year three, it appears he has big plans to make Nix a superstar quarterback. Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! Commanders activate star receiver Terry McLaurin in contract drama twist

Terry McLaurin has been activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Saturday, but it remains to be seen if the Commanders' receiver will strike a new deal with the team before the regular season begins. McLaurin, who had been designated to the PUP list with an ankle issue, was fined $200,000 by the organization for missing the first four days of training camp in July in a contract dispute. AP Advertisement McLaurin's clearance 'is the next step in his progression, but unrelated to negotiations,' ESPN's Adam Schefter posted Saturday on X. 'A small step….as he's set to ramp up — the next step in returning to practice,' NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added on the social media site. 'There is no indication of progress on an extension. But with the season looming, McLaurin will begin the process of getting his body ready.' Other top receivers like Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and DK Metcalf have recently received extensions from their respective teams. Bill Kostroun/New York Post The two-time Pro Bowler has recorded at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past five NFL seasons, including 82 catches for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns in 17 games in 2024 as the primary target for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Advertisement 'It feels good to be around my teammates and around the fans,' McLaurin told reporters after reporting to camp last month. 'I can't beat that at all. They showed me a lot of love and support. You lose sight of some things when the business gets involved, but I never lost sight of the way they supported me. It's business, but it has nothing to do with them.' The Commanders went 12-5 during the regular season last year and advanced to the NFC Championship game before losing to the Eagles. They will face the Bengals in their second preseason game Monday night, and open the season at home against the Giants on Sept. 7.

Hollywood Brown fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions

Rotoworld Staff, Hollywood Brown 2025 Fantasy Preview 2024: Brown missed most of the season after suffering a major shoulder injury in the preseason. He returned in Week 15 and was targeted at a high per-route rate, though his playing time remained limited. Brown had just 14 catches for 141 scoreless yards over five games in 2024. What's changed: Brown is fully recovered from a shoulder injury he suffered last August. The Chiefs could be without Rashee Rice in the early going as Rice faces a suspension that could be anywhere from two games to six games. The team also selected WR Jaylen Royals in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Outlook: While he'll certainly be part of three-receiver sets, Brown will likely function as Patrick Mahomes' WR3, well behind Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy. Perhaps Brown will take on the primary downfield role in the KC offense. There might not be much fantasy value in that role with Mahomes largely refusing to go downfield in recent seasons.
